    You may benefit from horizontal lock or a nice gimbal. Dis you go through the one-lane tunnel? The M-signs are meant to show where you must pull over to let incoming cars through. And yes, Iceland is amazingly beautiful. I really enjoyed the long drives through amazing landscapes. Sudureyri has a very nice swimming pool 😊. Have you been to the Bolafjall mountaintop? Also, i agree that Iceland is waaaaaay too expensive to be able to stay there long-term. Almost every piece of barren land in the vicinity of a waterfall or any tourist attraction is payable. Let alone coffeeshops and restaurants.

    • @whr_vlogs

      Sorry about the drone footage, it was the first time we ever did it . Iceland surely is one of the most beautiful countries I have ever visited. I agree about the season, if you can, you should travel outside the high season, there are sooo many people at the main attractions then; in the Westfjords though it felt a lot more relaxed. I'm glad we spent a few days there. The main "problem" in Iceland are the prices, everything's just so f-ing expensive (especially restaurants and coffee shops). Groceries are ok, but by no means cheap. In our case we could divide everything by four, so it was bearable.

    As a Turkish person I’m sorry to hear about your experience, and unfortunately, this kind of thing happens all too often in the Grand Bazaar. Many tourists fall victim to well-known scam tactics, where sellers almost always rely on a calculator, using it like a "magic" tool to create the illusion of massive discounts. In reality, they’re significantly marking up the prices. For example, I know for a fact that many of these items cost sellers less than 200 Turkish Lira, yet they turn around and sell them to unsuspecting tourists for 20 to 40 times that amount. It’s not uncommon to hear stories of people paying over $100 for a scarf or other items that aren’t even worth a fraction of that. One of the classic tricks is the infamous "Friend Discount," where vendors tell you that you’re getting a special price just because you’re their "friend" or remind them of someone they know, something they say to every customer who walks through the door. These tactics are so common that it’s become part of the tourist experience. Not speaking of all the sellers, of course there are sellers who are honorable and trustworthy but that guy was a total a..hole

    • @whr_vlogs
      @whr_vlogs 22 дні тому

      Don't worry, I met a lot of great and truly friendly people in Istanbul (mostly out of the main tourist areas). Also, we were kinda expecting this experience when going to the Bazaar (maybe not in this aggressive form, but still.) This "friend discount" scam is no new thing and of course we knew it was BS :)

  • @rad_y6315
    @rad_y6315 22 дні тому

    I bought same scarfs 2 for €20 (edit: I am Bulgarian). That was some years ago though, probably prices are higher now. But, right, they will lower the price by 50% and if you say "no" they'll be still chasing you with another offer. They know exactly what they're doing. If they sell it for 50 the real price is probably 15. Whoever pays the initial price is big time scammed.

    • @whr_vlogs
      @whr_vlogs 22 дні тому

      Yeah, it's a big ripoff if you accept the initial price. If you know that going into the negotiation that's fine.

    Ich bin ein Türke, bin aber hier in Wien geboren. War auch vor paar Monaten in Istanbul und habe auch solche Sachen erlebt. Die meisten Verkäufer dort sind eine Schande für dieses Land. Sie versuchen die Touristen so hart wie möglich zu veraschen. Alles ist gelogen was sie dir erzählen. Ich habe auch einen Schal gekauft für 400 Lira. Dieser Schal kostet maximal 5-8 Euro. Ich weiß, dass die Preise hoch sind, aber mir war das egal. Hatte keine Lust zu diskutieren. Aber deinen Freund haben sie schön abgezogen. Liebe Grüße

    • @whr_vlogs
      @whr_vlogs 23 дні тому

      Ja, die Touristen werden in Istanbul (vor allem in den stark besuchten Vierteln) abgezogen. Es ist jeder nur freundlich, weil er was verkaufen will ABER: wir haben auch die "echten" Leute getroffen. Als wir z.B. mal im asiatischen Teil unterwegs waren wo fast keine Touristen hinkommen, war der Vibe gleich ganz anders. Die Leute waren ehrlich freundlich und trotz Sprachbarriere extrem hilfsbereit. Bei einem Dönerladen hat uns der Typ sogar zwei Tees geschenkt (im Endeffekt haben wir dort 5€ bezahlt). Also es sind längst nicht alle so.

    Flensburg is in Schleswig-Holstein which was taken by King Christian IV of Denmark during the Thirty Year's War. It remained under Denmark until 1864 when Denmark handed over Schleswig and Holstein to Prussia and Austria with Denmark's defeat in the war that took place that year with both countries. There were ethnic Danes living in Schleswig as a result of Denmark's rulership over that region, and there are ethnic Danes there to this day which is why you see all those Danish businesses in Flensburg. Holstein was given to Austria as a result of their victory in the 1864 war with Denmark. Austria lost it when they were defeated 2 years later in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. Since the narrator is Austrian, he should know that neighboring Holstein was under Austrian hegemony for 2 years back there during the 19th century. Schleswig and Holstein were separate provinces during Danish rulership for over 200 years, now, they are a single state within the Federal Republic of Germany.

      You won't regret it! It was our favourite region for sure. If you have food with you (or go shopping in the supermarkets) you'll be fine in terms of cost (still expensive, but ok). The real shocker is going out to eat (We had prices like 7€ for a coffee, 30€ for Pizza, 25€+ for any main dish..). Also gas is super expensive (the worst was 1l of Diesel for 2,30€; yikes)

    Excellent, most honest and useful Iceland review I have seen. Yep, Reykjavik does not have much and is the most expensive in an expensive country. The ferry fare for the car was 870€ (without the cabins and any food), so yes, pretty expensive but in our case it was divided by four so it wasn't all too bad.

    Thank you for installation clarification. I have little bit updated kit from the same producer. With no manual included :[ As it was made for dealerships to install. My kit includes nece washers, conical ones, to install lower bracket. And I could not unscrew big screw holding origial metal strap near light... philips 3 bit started to get plastic deformations... I applied WD-40, it didnt help, so I tried to screw and unscrew movements, and after second philips bit deformed, screw head itself started to deform... I left it as is and thing works. But damper itself works not good, is starts to slow dow in the very end of movement. BTW, I worked for other producer of gas sruts kits 2016-2021.

    I must say, I am truly sorry about your LA trip. I am a native of LA. The city is quite massive. It is over 10 times larger than SF. It's definitely a great city, just need to know someone to drive you around.

      Thanks for your kind words. If we had the car already in LA things would have been much easier, yes.
