7:00 Kinda sad that the way they didn't show much of the "Thorn" lowered the hype of this panel/frame. The panel in the webtoon emphasized a single huge slash on the wall, and "something red" instead of the red lightning being shown. I miss how S1 showed visual hints and foreshadowing you'd realize few episodes later. Like in ep 1 when Anaak first appeared, some would notice how there's a "red symbol" on her weapon similar to the Black March while Rak was scouting in the first test.

This was sooooo fun and creepy I read most of Junji Ito a few years ago and going back to it from time to time is so good I'm glad this anime started quite strongly

Finally, a Junji Ito anime adaptation that is able keep up with the manga's vibe, they really nailed the "fear of the unknown". I love the ED for Junji Ito Collection tho, but that's it.

Akane wouldn’t jump to conspiracy level conclusions… he could have been their family pediatrician, for example. Regarding the shrine, reiterating what another commentator said, there are many small shrines along road sides all over Japan. So the shrine was probably built long ago and the killer hid his the body behind the shrine.

I really liked how the anime is giving special treatment for Yihwa. Because as manhwa/webtoon readers, we understand more things about her power. It's not her fault her flames are super OP, she was born with that talent. The problem is she's overthinking too much about controlling her flames and hang out with weak people. These weak people naturally will get hurt because they have low defense or low shinsu resistance. She cannot bring out her full potential. [Shinsu Resistance] is one of many power system concept in TOG that wasn't explained properly in the anime. It's an invisible shield / body armor against shinsu attack. Example of Shinsu Resistance = Ran and Novick never spill out blood despite getting hit by Baam's shinsu barrage. Because currently, Baam's offensive shinsu power are not much better than Novick and Ran. Using shinsu attack doesn't always guarantee you can hurt your enemies and make them bleed. Sometimes this can be visualized like you're getting hit by water pistol (kids toys) or pressurized water jet (that can cut metal and rocks).

There will be a lot fighting scenes in this arc. I hope they do something about the choreography animation. Hope we see an epic entrance of Anak Jahad smoothly~

Bruh I fuckin LOVED this manga. Had a huge Junji Ito phase and spent 2 months reading everything I could find by him, and this is still one of the stories that stuck with me the most. Second to his one slice of life story about his cute cats. Which still has body horror. Cuz Junji can't fucking stop himself lol

I'm pretty sure a lot of this is rotoscoped. The director, Hiroshi Nagahama, also directed Flowers of Evil which also was fully rotoscoped. That being said, this looks a lot better than that other show which was really experimental in its use of it. Not to take away from this at all though. Still looks absolutely creepy and uncanny which is the point

i think it actually is rotoscoped, anime-ized.. at least most of the people when they move and talk.. makes the movements lifelike and creepy.

4:15 the anime actually made him look a little different but in the manga Finn looks pretty much identical to a character of the same name from Omori sensei’s other work called danmachi. It’s been a while since I’ve read Wistoria but so far it is unsure if there’s any relation to the Finn of danmachi and the Finn of Wistoria.

NO SPOILERS 9:00 the medical technology in Tower of God is very advanced, especially if you're a rich trust fund baby like Khun lol. Dan was however severely injured - he's recovered enough to walk around it seems, but in this state he'll never be nearly as fast as he once was - his prided speed is gone thanks to Rachel. For us that's the equivalent of Usain Bolt only ever able to speedwalk if he really pushes himself. 17:13 Unfortunately, there was one extra sentence they cut from the Webtoon that I really liked that elevated this scene. When Novick asks "You mean something like this?" as he tries to intimidate Reflejo, and he senses what was shown in the anime, Reflejo actually responds with "Yes... Something like that." I just thought it made him seem far more sinister, and it's a shame it had to be cut. The scene serves its purpose though - looking forward to your thoughts on the first episode of the next cour next Sunday!! By the way if you ever decide to give this season a rewatch (not necessarily streamed, just on your own time I mean) I would highly suggest trying the English Dub. I usually prefer subs, but imo they did a much better job overall on the dub and the dialogue more accurately reflects the original intent of the Webtoon. Every Sunday I have been watching both the latest sub episode as well as the dub which is 2 behind.

Many mysteries for S2. And i agree, a show that use and abuse of classic shounen tropes can be really good if it's done right (i mean...Naruto, DBZ, One Piece, Bleach, MHA, Black Clover...i don't even need to say anything anymore LMAO), that's why they keep using it LOL. Also, Lihanna is officially my best girl of the show. I want to see more of her.
