So I recently played Hollowbody and it's pretty good, a little rough around the edge in some areas, but definitely worth playing if you're like me and you grew up on survival horror games. The cyberpunk setting is a neat twist on the genre since they tended to have more grounded and contemporary settings so it's neat to see some people are still trying to do new things with the genre instead of just being content to retread old ground.
Also idk if Anglicans do confessions or not so sorry if that joke doesn't work.

So I recently played ADACA and it was perfect timing since we've got all these rumors about a new HL game that actually seem credible for once. This game was super awesome though, a definite sign that the indie shooter scene is evolving in a really cool way and I look forward to playing more games in this new sub-genre. Also do dragons count as furry?

So I recently played Wild Bastards because I got sent a review code and just about every possible thing that could've happened to make this video a pain to make ended up happening. Real life obligations delayed it, a chest cold basically meant that the recording sounds terrible, and I lost a ton of footage that got corrupted when my power went out during a storm. This game is cursed. It's prett...

This video will make you a real man. While making the Trepang2 video, I did this as a test to learn how to do weird stuff with text effects and filters. Figured I'd upload it here. This is the start of my mega-convoluted ARG that will run for 12 years until I get bored.

It's the ultimate successor to that classic and I hope the devs go on to create some more baller shooters. Also I have eye strain from how long it took to edit this thing.

So I recently played Evil Tonight and thought it was pretty good. I'm really in to this new wave of micro-budget survival horror games that's been coming out the past few years. These kind of games really take me back to my childhood when things were good and the world wasn't falling apart lol. Also next video will need some extra time in the oven.

Carmageddon - A Racing Game for the Semi-Psychotic
You don't have to play the goddamn missions. You're actually wishing for less content, it's sacrilegious. The missions are a perfect application of the complex pickups the game has available. Each map is designed around the missions, in that there are secret spaces and pickups on the map that would not normally be accessed in normal racing. This is completely unique, and makes the game a rare masterpiece. The missions also teach the player how to use the pickups and navigate the levels. For example, on the docks level you have to reach a bomb piece at a hard-to-reach location, and then in the next race there is a permanent engine upgrade in the same location. not only is there enough time in each race to destroy all cars, there is enough time to fully explore each map and collect the permanent upgrades. The time caps at 4 minutes, so if you manage to get the clock to 4 min, then you go explore, and then once it dips again, you build up your time. It's not rocket science People like you are the reason modern gaming sucks
The time bonuses are strategically placed in the levels at sections where play-testers ran out of time. It's a very well designed game, you're not doing it justice at all.
My complaint wasn't that it was hard to finish a race, my complaint is that I didn't want to actually race, I wanted to drive around and break stuff because that's the point of Carmageddon lol
I genuinely want to know what game you would recommend in lieu of this game, because there simply isn't one. A game better than this just does not exist. If it did I would be playing it right now.
I'll recommend 3: Carmageddon Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now Carmageddon: Reincarnation There you go, knock yourself out champ
It's really telling when most of your criticisms are about how difficult the game is. I finished this game as a child. I figured out how to waste all the enemies as a 10 year old child. It's a good game. In fact, it's one of the best games ever made.
Lol, my problem is that the game isn't really difficult for the most part, just not fun. I didn't really have any trouble outside of a handful of levels towards the end
I love this game. I played it first at 10 years old. The earlier Carma games do not appeal to me. TDR is incredible in terms of how many features it has. Games from the 2000s always have the best features. Just a brilliant game overall. Download the max pack patch
big meh no thanks
I'll gift it to you what's your steam
Awesome dude! I dig it. “Gov after a natural disaster…” yeah, not gonna deny.
Graphics shouldn't matter. Gameplay is important.
I agree, it's why I recommended the game
I only played the N64 version. Daikatana is basically a bad version of Timesplitters.
I hate that they're called boomer shooters. Retro or old-school shooter would be better to say.
A what shooter?
G-O-O-N-E-R
There are better first person shooters such as Unreal Gold, Unreal Tournament 99, Unreal Tournament 2004, the Timesplitters series, the original Perfect Dark, Killing Floor, the original Shadow Warrior...
? I never said this game was better or worse than any of those lol
Whenever you hear a new "Tom Clancy" game, remember that the actual Tom Clancy died in 2013.
Rest in Peace king
Man Returnal is so fucking underrated, more people should give it a shot.
It's one that I plane to get around to at some point
@@snesbagel please do it, it's a wonderful game, very unique and risky triple A game. It's literally the first AAA Bullet hell roguevania in existence, people ask for this type of game but never support them it's so lame yk.

You deserve more subs bro. Very good discussion and editing.
putting aside the elephant in the room..i gotta say the style of this game reminds me of another game called Mullet MadJack which also shares a retro anime style.
Yaaay new video
ty for the video zomhob

Looks cool!
Yeah, you really got to keep yourself in check when you are developing a game. I think because they're so many games today, people assume its easier than it actually is.
Yeah, there's a lot of tools that make it easier to develop a game but people make the mistake of thinking that means it's easier to develop a good game
Your channel is very much like Cryptid, haven't seen it before, but a very good recommendation and a very entertaining video.
Thnx fam
i have a shit ton of good idea to make a video game, but it is so hard and time consuming so i never started...
I would start small and work your way up from there
@@snesbagel thats the plan i guess
Most developers really don't take advantage of how the scariest things aren't from out of this world. Games like these are a constant reminder that we have to share the world with the Europeans.
Dracula and Frankenstein's monster are both from Europe and it took us 2 centuries to figure out that that's what made them scary
Eastern Europeans*
As someone interested in the SIlent Hill 2 Remake as an old fart that played the early games on release... the algorithm did the thing for me.
Funnily enough, Silent Hill 2 is going to be my next video lol
@@snesbagel whatever I can awkwardly tank control aim a sluggish lead pipe into either horrifying or maybe a bit arousing nurses sounds good to me.
Man I wanna try this game but it seems way too short and everybody kinda says that the story is whatever. Which is like mehhh to me, I mostly like horror for the cool stories they can come up with, even something as silly and crazy as resident evil are super interesting/fun to go thru. I'll get it on sale probably, but Idk if outside of atmosphere I'll like this one as much as something like signalis or like re4's crazy ahh plot
Yeah, I would say wait for a sale if that's your concern. The length is the biggest thing it's got going against imo

I don't really care about ubisoft anymore since they released AC Origin.
Honestly, the last game they made that I enjoyed was WD2 lol
7:37 wait, you were playing with just 4 companions? At that point you should've had one other at least. Did they die lol? EDIT: I guess I got my answer pretty soon.
I've been sick of Ubisoft since FarCry 5. It was such a brutally m e h game that only gets worse for me over time. Honestly, I wouldn't shed a single tear if Ubisoft, or any of these big studios like Activision, EA, hell even fucking Rockstar turn under (even Rockstar is fucked these days). They aren't what they used to be & exist simply to pump out slop for the masses & eat our wallets. And yeah sure, it sucks that people will lose their jobs (I mean shit, people get layed off in this industry all the time anyways) if these companies die, but that's the fault of the suits & higherups for driving paying customers away by giving them subpar products. David Szmanski said in an interview with PC gamer "People ask me a lot: 'Dave, if I want to get into games now, how do I start?' And I say don't. Quit. You should have started five to 10 years ago. Go to trade school, get a real job. Become a plumber. People need those. "You don't want to be employee number 356772 that reports to somebody that reports to somebody that reports to somebody that makes the decisions. It sucks. The magic is gone. You will not enjoy videogames anymore if you work in a big game studio." Here's the link to the article in case anyone would like to fact check or read it themselves www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/you-will-not-enjoy-videogames-anymore-if-you-work-in-a-big-game-studio-new-bloods-boss-weighs-in-on-what-sets-it-apart-amid-an-industry-crisis/

Ubi quality went bad after Valhalla really after that they just apease the investors
So glad to see a UA-camr make a quality video on this hidden gem of a game.
I enjoyed making this vid and I definitely enjoyed playing the game
Ubisoft is frustrating because they have the potential to make good or atleast interesting games. I love Rayman Origins and Rainbow Six Vegas. But the last decade has consisted of terrible decisions. It probably also doesn't help that Shadows is coming out in a post Ghost Of Tsushima world. Also what do people see in Assassin's Creed? Most of those games look extremely bland to me. Then again my only experience with the series is the PS Vita game, so maybe I don't have a good idea of the series. But the thing that really bothers me about Ubisoft is that I feel that they are the company who pushed the online only garbage. I was interested in For Honour, but completely lost interest when I heard you had to be online to even play the single player. I hope Ross Scott wins against them.
Assassin's Creed has always seemed mildly interesting to me because of how it hops around to different settings and historical periods but not interesting enough to spend money on lol
@@snesbagel Assassin's Creed joins the ranks of games like Hunt Showdown for me. Where it has a cool premise, but the gameplay is something that doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.
@@thebrodator That's funny, I actually love Hunt lol. Been thinking about doing a video on it but idk yet
Loved the video all together, however, it is my gut feeling that at some level the culture war shit is having an impact. Maybe im wrong but seeing the views and the likes on youtubers and twitter guys like grumz talk about how things are going with woke in the video game industry makes me feel like there has to be some sort of impact even if its just some bloke going "yer nah this company dude is saying im a bigot for not buying their game so fuck them".
Yeah, maybe I was a little too all-or-nothing in how I put it. I think the primary impact is that it can add more negativity to a game that already has a negative perception. So with something like Concord, that people already thought looked boring and generic, the woke stuff was kind of like the icing on top basically
Sprawl? Fuck yea
It's a really fun game, reminds me of Titanfall
Skull and Bones is so forgettable that the whole time I thought he was talking about Sea of Thieves.
John S. Weekley is a seriously underrated musician. Banger-ass soundtrack! Hopefully he gets some big title jobs in the future, not to say that his Doom wad midis or the Ashes 2063 soundtracks aren't excellent.
Yeah, the music in that game was baller
What we need to ask is what's gonna happen? The only worth Ubisoft have is in the intellectual property. So if they were to be bought by Tencent, Microsoft or anyone else, they'll buy it just for the AC and Tom Clancy brand.
Personally, I hope they don't get bought out by anyone and they just stop being dumbasses lol
Dude that game is like timespiltters that's cool
Yeah, the whole "floating gun" thing is pretty similar
@snesbagel will it ever be on console later on or??
@@ventus2002 I haven't read anything and it's been 2 years and the person's working on a new game so I doubt it, unfortunately
All of this could've been avoided if the higher ups of Ubisoft is capable of understanding games, which I doubt most of AAA even have that luxury. Frankly and the recent gamersgate from "Gamers™" didn't helped. Like you said, they keep chasing trend and most of their game filled with artificial checklist instead of made with passion like their older titles (Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed 2, Far Cry 3 and more) What makes me sad is the skilled developers who are being abused, harassed by other people from "Gamers™" and even from Ubisoft themselves, I'm hoping they're doing well mentally. (EDITED: also I remember reading some article that they have 12 i repeat *12* Battle Royale game in development back then which is insane for one company) Long story short, only support indie publisher or at least the publisher who are cared for games like New Blood, From Software, Larian, Capcom, Supergiant Games and prob more company that I forgot to put here.
Ubisoft will probably stay afloat, but after heavy restructure. I doubt that full buyout is gonna happen.
Yeah, like I said, I figure they've got a landing pad or something
make a decent video game challenge impossible hehe truly a ubislop
The games industry and the film industry have the same problem of budget creep, pumping more money and staff into a project won't make it work. Ubisoft specificly has the issue of "do the same but more, but nothing too challenging" makes their games almost good in a way that makes you annoyed that they didn't do more. My favourite Ubisoft game is Farcry 2.
As far as the film industry goes, I'm pretty sure there's some kind of money laundering going on at this point lol. I've never played Far Cry 2 unfortunately. I started with 3
Honestly, tbh, Valhalla was pretty good. Not great, but it was fun enough.
I never played it but I have a friend who was pretty in to it
You lowkey nailed it with Ubisoft, I know a bunch of people who work there, most creatives at Ubisoft are extremely talented, (shines when they leave to different studios or go indie) but the management is terrible, there's always someone over someone, it's a whole ass pyramid. Ubisoft is a company way too big for its own good, and they're not rockstar games. A lot of the people at the top of Ubisoft are extremely out of touch with the industry and video games in general, like they prolly don't even play games. Everything over there takes super long partly because of management so they keep sinking money in things that gets redirected left and right until its actually done. Honestly I think that Ubisoft is cooked and they didn't give me the job so L on them 😮💨😮💨🤫
Yeah, I've read similar stories about the workplace environment there. As for them being too big, I think I also read somewhere that they have way more employees then most other companies, so that doesn't surprise me either lol. Also, sorry they passed you up though it sounds like you may have dodged a bullet lmao
@@snesbagel probably, I kinda just want to get in here for the pretty portfolio and all the benefits that comes with working for ubisoft in Canada. But honestly IDK if I would be happy as a creative there lol
@@snesbagel They have 21,000 employees, according to their own website. For refenerecne, Sony Interactive Entertainment has only 11,000. Just an insanely bloated company.
Ubisost lost me years ago with a combination of Assass Greed: Brotherhood Grift and Assass Greed 3: Tree Climbing Simulator/Yawnfest Story Edition. What surprised me is how many gamers suckled at the teet of this cash cow, that started off as a pioneering fascinating work of art as games (AC 1 & 2) then devolved into generic please-all slop. Most gamers don't want art nor innovation nor complex characters/narratives, they want endless tasks and upgrades with cookie cutter Netflix cliché hero storytelling
Idk, I think even the average gamer is getting bored with the formula if the performance of Breakpoint, Legion, and FC6 is any indication. Even AC: Mirage undersold, and I remember Syndicate's sales numbers really lit a fire under their ass, so who knows, the brand definitely isn't invincible. I think Shadows is really going to be the make-or-break moment for Ubisoft
@@snesbagel Oh yea you're totally on point there with modern sales, even the status quo can't take the same rinse repeat wash cycle for so long, but I'm surprised it went on as it did. However the 3rd person OTS shooty shooty disguised as groundbreaking game design still continues to sell, maybe the majority are under a spell? They just can't imagine games being any different, they don't expect new radical game design experimentation, only frame rate and HD fidelity obsession. I swear I'm not deliberately rhyming here...
@@Artesian_mirage I agree completely actually, it's partially what inspired the Sony video I did since that whole "cinematic OTS game" formula is so fucking boring to me. I think we're probably going to get a reset within the next ten years. Investors are going to pull out once they see the industry is essentially in free-fall and devs and publishers will once again have to rely on experimentation in order to get noticed by the general populace, though I think the audience is going to shrink considerably. If nothing else, political and economic factors external to the industry are going to force a pretty big change either way as the Chinese economy becomes more dominant and reliance on the U.S. wanes around the globe
@@snesbagel You put it all succinctly and aligns with what most other level-headed gamers are saying. I hope this will be the case, the seemingly inevitable crash and reset 2.0 I've envisioned so many wonderful things in my mind of how games could be, could evolve, many creative avenues, there must be so many who see different potential ideas, radical game design in uncharted territory (Gravity Rush and Fez are good examples) both devs and gamers who've never designed a single game. So many unexplored ideas, so much potential just laying to waste, like luxury unique cars parked in garages on isolated islands, never seeing ignition in daylight. Hopefully like you say, this will change in the next 10 years, and those creative engines can be set free and given some mileage
@@Artesian_mirage Hopefully. I think that the smaller budgets get, the more creative ppl will be able to get. The enemy of creativity is the absence of restraints, as some movie guy said once
