I keep a bowl on my porch railing next to the bird feeder. They take floss and fabric scraps (and hair from haircutting & brush cleanouts) for their nests.

Buying some upholstery needles now! I just struggled today tufting a pumpkin. A tip I learned about the leaves is you can use some stabilizer to help them stand up a bit more.
