Hey! For their first opening I always use Obsidian flesh (earth 5). I track the jumping animation and press the button as soon as I see it. Also some willbender's attacks have projectiles so you can press earth 4 also to gain some additional damage. Usually it's enough to survive the first burst combo, then you rely on your rolls. You see they jump to you - you start dodging and use fire/water3 for an additional evade. You can try and spam blind with air 3, earth 3 or arane blast to cover their burst if you don't have other cds. But you have to press with damage in right time to not allow a willbender to play agressively. If your pressing isn't enough, there is no buttons to survive their burst cycles forever

Arguments for using Dagger would include, higher burst combos (fire 4/5 and earth 5 do great dmg), more healing (from water 4/5, although this isn't anywhere near the defensive utility of focus), better mobility (through air 4), more hard CC (through air 5 and earth 4 - focus has air 5, which is amazing, but no other hard cc) and better melee pressure. As you say, focus is probably better, but Dagger creates a more glassy, mobile, bursty playstyle. It's not optimal, but it's fun!

​​​​@@Exzensalut, thanks for your answer! :D personnaly i think like you that we should have the possibility to fight in contact rather than running all the time to avoid it like a thief. I want to have the possibility to be a duellist and not only a roamer. So i use the focus but with the earth Shield + tornado . And for the stats i use full berserker and scolar rune, but i use the two water and weavers perks whitch give more PV, finaly i have 15000/17000pv with full offensive stats. :)

Yeah, this one is the softest way to back to FA weaver for sure, the most sustained one among other builds without focus :) Welcome back! o/

I doubt you can run it in spvp on weaver comfortably, it’s too much glassy class and staff is pretty glassy weapon especially if you face classes which you can’t outkite like thieves or willlbender. Exzen recently played fire+air LR weaver with the staff on wvw and he was pretty good with that tho :) so you can have much fun in this mode with staff

thanks! I run both and left the link in the description on the LR build :) I find LR better for sure, just tested some super glass cannon build with the FA trait to maximise the damage. Both are viable tho

Haha, I’m saying the same about Exzen :D About the builds: better to learn it in fully power of course, cele will cut the damage and it won’t be so much fun :) also power is slightly harder to play so it will force you to learn the game and classes more and will grow up the skill way faster then cele. You can slap cele trinkets tho and it’ll be good for learning the FA weaver too, just don’t forget to aim to 65% of a crit chance and good uptime of fury to make the builds work!

To add to what Zanzza said - Cele is good, but generally considered a crutch. It will help you survive and learn the combos. There are ele builds built around cele that are down right overpowered (Cele is just stupid tbh), which is also an option. But if you want to play like this and burst people down with big numbers, you want to swap off Cele :)

I love that build! It’s harder to play than the classic arcane FA and it gives you almost nothing back for its difficulty (except of the healing and better cleansing) but roleplay is standing higher than the effectiveness for sure 😂

Oh, I really don’t think I’m up for this work for any money, it fully killed my sanity 😂 it took ~500 hours of work over all and even if I take minimally 5$ per one hour, it’ll be 2500$ which is kinda not worthy for the gw2 video haha :D

Haha, Zanzza did this one - i dont have the artistic talent to do the art stuff. But for editing it is similar for me. The amount of hours to edit and sync to music (plus I often edit the music) is almost certainly not worth paying for a roaming video. Always happy to chat on Discord though if you wanna discuss further!

Oh yeah, the dagger MH on power builds is the most underestimated weapon I know on weaver :) it’s super hard to survive with double daggers but the damage and the length of combos are sick, totally worth the risk!
