I guess I'm not really worried about cultural impact cause I've been playing fg games since arcades were still relevant, and outside of a few fringe cases, I never met someone who honest to goodness thought women all should look like Mai or the DOA girls. If that was the case, my entire gen would be made up of involuntary virgins who can't never interact with real-life women instead of most of them being married to normal looking women and having kids.

I mean, that's not the only reason why the game failed 😂 MK1 has awful gameplay, the kameo system was introduced on an incredibly poor way and the movement/pacing of the game is dog shit. So yeah, you need a middle ground in the sense that, characters need to look cool, but I doubt that's the real reason why a game like MK1 is failing. Hopefully we get a better MK on the next one, the franchise has super cool characters so it's sad to see it do bad. It can be a problem for sure, and there is no doubt that a part of the audience connects with it like that. As I said in the video, some characters are more stylized or related to it in a cool way, but also some of them are just straight up sexualization. It is a pretty controversial topic for sure. Depends on what it is that you like about the game. Personally at the start, I wanted more defense, but now that I just have accepted the game as the offensive FG, I have a lot of fun playing it. It's a nice game for sure! But I wouldn't say that it encourages people to learn good fundamentals or stuff like that, it's completely dependant on characters. If you play Kazuya of course you'll learn, because you need them, but half of the roster is ooga booga mashing, so it's not really centered on learning. I would even go to say that most Tekken 8 players would probably have an awful performance in other FGs, because the game rewards playing like an idiot too much. You move an Alisa player or any other character like that to SF6, Under Night, VF, Melty, etc, they would be bronze level

I believe it is possible to make him less annoying/broken, but I would love to have him on the game regardless of that! @ButtonMashersYT i agree. Giving him landing lag would be a great balance option to discourage demon flipping or jumping in neutral. If they make this change I'd say this be a good way to solve the special cancels and they could keep some on block and don't have to get rid of it entirely. And if we're to assume he's gonna have SF6 mechanics then he'd have the stamina bar to he can lose meter if he gets hit. And the rush mechanic like his dash cancel in 7. They can tie it to heat so he only has access to it there and cost you some heat and stamina at the same time.

LOL as a legacy Capcom fan, I’m pretty disappointed with SF6. The truth is, Capcom, Bamco and even Arksys have lost their way. They have forgotten the competitive roots of arcade/fighting game design. Yes their games are popular, but sacrificing gameplay depth/fundamentals in legacy franchises,to appease casuals, is killing the soul of the genre. The producer of Samsho 2019 (which low key might be the best modern FG)is the OG producer of MotW, is also in charge of FF CotW. SNK and Sega (VF6/Revo, SoR5, Golden Axe reboot) haven’t forgotten the true roots of the competitive arcade genre. And CotW has the potential to take the crown of modern 2D fighters(from a gameplay perspective). Open your mind and try the beta, ya literally have nothing lose.

@Hunt9-qb1if You're kidding, right? Most key players in early Street Fighter production were on the SNK side; they moved it around constantly between the two companies. Street Fighter and Fatal Fury were basically made by the same people, under different companies. Even the developers often mention that they put SNK characters in Street Fighter games and Street Fighter characters in SNK games just for fun; that's the main reason Capcom vs. SNK happened.
