Thank you its a beautiful one .
@marianunes6905 We’re glad you think so!
Thank you for sharing, its a beautiful cana lily.😘
@marianunes6905 We’re glad you enjoyed it!
This is certainly impressive! They did a great job with keeping the ornate pavement in place
Hi @hvw8557: Thanks for the comment. I agree, all of the guys from PSE&G were very nice and professional. We offered them all Diet Cokes and water. :-) Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
Stay warm. I hope the worms stay warm too
Thank you was a very helpful video.❤
@marianunes6905 Glad it was helpful!

Interesting content...but isn't that claw garden tool kinda hard on your worms? Just wondering.
Hi @HeyWatchMeGo. Thanks for your comment. Not at all. Those garden claws actually have blunted ends and the worms are too small to be affected like that. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
Cannova row's looking great. I know you did a lot of work digging up that concrete and dirt for them so I hope they respect it in turn.
Hi @legendofman12. Thanks for the comment. It's funny you say that because the guys were extremely appreciate and kept mentioning throughout the say, about how much work I did. Nicest bunch of guys from PSE&G you'd ever want to meet. :-) Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
Very nice informative video and presentation.
@bobbyb7127 Thanks for watching! We're glad you enjoyed it.
They are all so beautiful!
Hi @alissamarie5452. Thanks for the compliment. Thank you - Yes, I can't believe they are still thriving. I've never had them last this long into winter before and I'm still being stingy with the water. :-) Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
I did a lot of this exact work. I used a wheelbarrow/standard pointed shovel to mix or concrete reusable bag. They are cheaper option and found online. It’s cheaper than even buying a wheelbarrow. It’s easy to use. Hand tools trowel and small shovel. If too watery put in sun to evaporate water. It’s like making pancakes. I don’t make it level to the plastic form on top. Round it on top, level to others generally after form is removed. Thicker stones, but looks more natural. Can use wide gap polymeric sand, gravel, mortar, sand, topsoil sand mix with moss or grass seed. Be aware of frost with this. 10lb hand tapper with a wood separating from stone to get material in cracks. Good luck.
@Lambchoppers-hp5jk Thanks for sharing your tips!
Question is when you're going to a craft event, and you have to carry all your stuff and you only have one cart, these things can be pretty heavy tote around, although zi like them.
Hi @Pjwilliamson55 . Thanks for the comment. Yes, they can be heavy. I would recommend filling them at the event, if there's a water source. If not ... good luck lugging them around. ;-) Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
Thank you for the tips on doinga set up like this. You have given me some great ideas on what to do and how to do it. And a big G'day from Australia.
Hi @natbeech9185. Thanks for the comment and big ole G'Day to you too. :-) Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
Worm farm!!!!
Nice work. Are you worried youll hit the line?
Hi @legendofman12. Thanks for the comment. That thought came to mind. But I was digging at the concrete, not so much the dirt and I remember seeing the pipe in the ground years ago when I was digging my fence post. But I still had my fingers crossed, lol. ;-) Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
Where are you located? Curious about the winter weather.
Hi @sarahvarela6948. Thanks for your question. We are from the great state of New Jersey. :-) Today it was 4 degrees when we woke up. Can't wait till Spring. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
I feed the flowers to my chickens, they love em
Yes! Another update
Im doing my first batch this year. Very informative videos. @bourbonandblooms
Hi @bourbonandblooms. Thanks for the compliment. Glad you like it. Feel free to ask us any questions. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
I am alike !!! I just LOVE to seeing and listening to the rain in my garden !! So much wanted by me and my plants !!
Nice, thanks....
@alejandrajorgensen4655 You're very welcome!
I love your enthusiasm, and video, but your worm bin should not smell, and your probably adding too much water. To avoid smells add more carbon i.e. paper, carboard, dry leaves etc. I bet that was very heavy to lift on the table?
Hi @joeohalloran9309. Thanks for the comment. Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, it's been an interesting experience keeping a worm farm and it really doesn't smell bad. I'm just particularly sensitive to smells. Even when I'm doing my regular compost pile, a fresh earthy smell can get me going. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
I didn’t see if you separated the different kinds of varieties. I am careful about keeping the seeds separated from each other, otherwise how do you know which plant or flower you are planting. ??? I’m confused.
Hi @helensmith9265 . Thanks for the comment. We ALWAYS separate our seeds when collecting them off the stems - you have to, unless you're dealing with just 1 variety. I usually use labeled baggies and I only deal with 1 variety at a time, as to not to confuse any of them. Unfortunately, all cannas seeds look alike except for the size in some varieties. Sorry if I didn't show that in the video but we'll be making a updated video regarding the collection of seeds in the future, and I'll be sure to mention that you have to separate them. Thanks for watching our videos. Have a great holiday! -Jackie and Dan-
I have 7 different kinds. I love them so much. Great tour. Want to buy some rhizomes or seeds, give us your address. 3:29
Hi @helensmith9265: Thanks for watching our videos. We started out with just 1 variety and the addiction started, lol. Cannas are fantastic and we'd love for you to be able to grow your garden with even more varieties. You can check out our Etsy site: jdgardensnj.etsy.com , where right now, we have seeds on sale. Come the Spring, we'll have LIVE plants as well as seeds available. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you and Merry Christmas Eve! -Jackie and Dan-
Thanks for responding. I will do just that. I’ve learned a lot watching your channel. And I share in your passion for Kanas. Thanks again.
You’re very welcome! We hope you have success.
Brilliant
imagine setting up a buffet in front of a bunch of homeless people and then leaving it unguarded. cedar is candy for deer. you should put up wiring to keep them out of reach. otherwise, they will just munch and munch and munch. especially when it's cold. you could also plant some elsewhere and leave those purposely for the deer, thus driving them away from the ones you want to keep. well-planted, though. they look very healthy. but they will continue to be a buffet until you block them off. <3
Did it help? New to composting. Figured an auger would be the easiest to turn it 'cause I want the pile to heat up
Hi @aiidina67. Thanks for your question - sorry for the delayed response. Yes it does help. I even made a video using my big auger that I use to drill holes in the ground. Now that REALLY helps turning the pile. If you're new to composting, we have all kinds of videos on composting from winter to quick piles ... everything you need to know. You can check them out on our UA-cam channel under our "Composting" playlist. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
Thinking about this for our back patio area. Looks Great. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. Let us know how your project turns out!
I definitely need to get one of those Compost bin
Where did you get the set up?
How old is this worm farm? Where did you get the setup?
Hi @freeplantngardenstandsfami9009 . Thanks for your questions - sorry for the delayed response. We've had our worm farm for about 2 years and it's from a company called Hungry Bin. If you're interested in one, we have an Amazon link to it in the description of our videos which can be found in our Worm Farm playlist. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan

Hi @shanthimolmk3252 . We are so glad you liked it!
Very interesting. Thanks ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
What size is that trap?
Hi @blueghost4121. Thanks for the comment. We have several traps but this particular one that I used to catch the raccoon is 32"L x 10"W x 12"H . You can find an Amazon link to it in the video description. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
What temp do I have to have in my shed for canna rhizomes
Hi @rosemoss7166 . Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for reaching out to us. Very good question ... you just want to keep it above freezing. I'd say no less than 40 degrees because remember, there will always be moisture in the rhizomes (even as they go dormant). If they're too dry, they're worthless and if you have the right amount of moisture in them and the temperature goes below freezing, then it's just going to destroy the rhizome. One extra little tip: If you're not looking to build out yourself a Fort Rhizome ;-), when you keep them in your shed, get a few moving blankets and cover them up. That should help keep the temperature right. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
Happy holidays everyone!
Can't you leave them out if you really mulch them really heavy?
Hi @DaveSigurdsson . Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, you definitely can but depending on how harsh your winters are, you run the risk of losing them. It's not so much a matter of the cold weather as much as it is snow piled on top, thawing and freezing, seeping down into the ground which could kill the rhizomes. Though this year, we care going to try, in one of our gardens, cutting them back low and piling up bark to keep them warm. If we know that there's a lot of snow coming, we might even put a tarp over them for added protection. We'll be making a few videos on them as the winter goes by. Keep an eye out for them. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
❤
I've thought about buying one of those now I really want one. Good video.
@goldriderlc Hi Rob: Sorry for the delayed response. It really is a cool compost bin. We just did a full turn video today which we'll be posting this week ... so keep an eye for it. Could be a game changer ;-) . Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
Great job, I loved your canna flowers, especially fire dragon and tropicana and bengal tiger. Keep it up.
Hi @wiselives . Sorry for the delayed response. So glad that you enjoyed our Garden East. We do a Walk Through video every year. You can check out other Walk Through's on our site in the Playlist entitled Garden Walk Through's. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
@ hi 👋 I really appreciate your efforts and sense of beauty, aesthetic. I’ll make a canna garden like yours 👏🙏
Thank you for your videos,I learned a lot with you .Can you please help me ,i need to know what kind of fertilizer to use on the Cana Lilies.Thank you in advance .
Hi @marianunes6905 . Sorry for the delayed response. As we said in the other comment, we grow all of our cannas in our own compost so there is not much need for fertilizer other than when we first plant them. When we first start them, like to use Miracle Grow Shake & Feed. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
Question: Could a person lay some thick plywood down as a type of subflooring to help achieve a more level area and use the walkmaker on top of this subfloor?
Hi @steveday6961 . Sorry for the delayed response. I guess you could do that but is this for indoors or outdoors? If it was outdoor, the plywood would eventually rot and the base would become unleveled anyway. The whole purpose of the Walk Maker is to get a nice stable surface without having to spend too much time leveling off the ground. If you wanted to go through the whole process of leveling off the ground with crushed stone and stone dust, then it would be just the same as using pavers. But actually it might still be cheaper using this than purchasing pavers. Thanks for watching! Jackie and Dan
Thank you .
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Hello I enjoy watching your videos,my baby cana lilies are about 5 inches tall, can a uso fertilizer now.
Hi @marianunes6905 . Sorry for the delayed response. It's really not necessary to fertilize cannas. The only time we do is when we first plant them to help the roots get established. Other than that, we don't give them anything else. Also, we grow exclusively with our homemade compost which is very rich in nutrients as opposed to regular potting mix. But if you were looking to add fertilizer, I'd wait till it's over a foot tall. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
Looks great! And I never deadhead my mums and they just come back the following year
Hi @sherrylebowitz707 . Sorry for the delayed response. We don't grow mums in the this spot all year round. We do it more as a seasonal plant (Fall and early winter). Cutting the deadheads encourages new growth. Thanks for watching! Jackie & Dan
