Honda Accord P3497
In this video we are replacing the full valve body in order to remove the P3497 code. I've tried replacing the switch with an OEM switch and cleaning the valve but the code kept coming back. With the new valve body the code has not returned.

      It depends on how long its been broken. Its not mandatory but if you can do it I would. If its been broken a really long time I would recommend it.

    Tips to make it easy: boil hard tire for 15 min. Remove from pot, lube outside edge and inside of tire, one person presses tire onto wheel as much as they can, another person uses tire pry to slip last portion of tire onto wheel. Literally pops on in 5 seconds of work.

    • @diydad2

      No problem, the overall process should be similar. Just remove the bumper and that should give you access to replace the broken cover. Some covers can even be done without removing the bumper.

    Hello, I have a 2011 Honda Pilot that was displaying P0496 (slightly different than your code) and P145C. We replaced the vapor canister purge valve and upon recheck of the codes, P0496 cleared on its own but P145C remains. Is it possible that it could take a few days for this code to clear? Mode 6 now shows a complete and pass for the purge flow monitor but the EVAP Monitor tests (4 of them- one 0.090" and three 0.020") show "Test not complete". LIVE mode showed the EVAP Vapor Pressure bouncing between -2.1 and 0.56 inH20 right after returning from a drive and parking the car on a flat surface in the garage. The reading prior to replacing the Vapor Purge Canister Valve was a solid -0.51 but no drive took place prior to reading. Should that pressure be bouncing around? Any suggestion would be helpful. Thank you

    • @markarness8719
      @markarness8719 3 місяці тому

      Yes drive it 50-100 miles. You can clear codes by disconnect battery terminals and wait ten minutes, then hookup and drive.

    This video is amazing and I was following it until I couldn’t get the inner tube out because the Schrader valve was too long and wouldn’t come out. I saw in your video you made it seem like a piece of cake. Is there any specific you can tell me about taking the tube out? Would slime be an alternative to replacing a new tube and instead put the slime in the old tube to seek the air leak? Let me know 🙏

    • @diydad2
      @diydad2 Рік тому

      Slime is a good temporary fix if the puncture is not too big. I started prying from one side of the valve and went all the way around. The valve was the last thing I took out.

    Hey man so I know this video is a few years old but I just used this to change my pump! Went smoothly BUT the two 10mm bolts at 1:38 unfortunately broke into the old pump while removing them. I cannot find a replacement for them anywhere and I’ve tried some generic 10mm bolts thinking it would work but the pump keeps popping off from the pressure. Do you by chance know the part number or what I should be asking for? Lol

    • @diydad2
      @diydad2 Рік тому

      Enter this part number into a Honda parts website and it should pull up all the parts for that area with part numbers: 95701-08040-07. From there you should be able to find the exact bolts you're looking for if its not the one I listed.
