Enjoyed your video. Regarding getting the door to fit perfectly. If the door fits perfectly in the frame when you purchased it, it should fit perfectly in the frame when it is installed. The secret to hanging doors is to focus on the weight bearing side, the side with the hinges. Make sure that it is perfectly vertical, straight and fastened to the door opening. Then you simply position threshold to level and square the rest of the frame to match the door.

I can't believe how expensive everything surrounding concrete is. WOW. I'm building a 40x64 garage/shop and one estimate came in at 38k for slab and stem wall. So I'm going to do the footer and stem wall myself, and get the slab setup as well. I'll probably just have the guys come in and finish the concrete, since that is a skillset I don't possess. Pro tip~ Not a big deal but when framing interior walls we usually don’t transfer roof loads to a 4” slab via a wall to avoid cracking or settling. If an interior wall is meant to have a load it will have a footing below. Simpson actually makes a clip that connects the top plate/ceiling which allows for movement. Thanks for the breakdown in cost. Very helpful! My next house will be built in concrete, possibly PIP since our company does that work (and framing) or maybe ICF.
