Hi drifter, thanks for the comment. I am not sure why it wouldn’t fire. You may have tried this but just reset the camera and flash and then begin the process again. You could also be on movie mode instead of camera mode… if those to do not help, check the nikon setup page and go step by step. Hope that helps.

Hi and thanks for your comment! It could easily work for that. I don’t think that you necessary need it for that. Its a heavy and expensive lens to carry and vlog with and I believe their are better lens for that purpose but yes it should work just fine 👍

Ok Steven, I think I may have found the problem - Pretty sure the camera is in "Silent Mode". In this (silent) mode the flash is completely disabled.... - That is from our Nikon team.

my SB-5000 won't connect either via AWL radio. I tried many times, reset everything, did all updates, made sure the channel was correct, tried on multiple bodies, tried the WR-R11A (ON THE Z9) & THE WR-R11A on a Z6ll and Z7. Nothing works. The SB-5000 works on the hot shoe and works when I use my RU-800. It just won't connect via radio and thats why I purchased it to begin with. Any help would be welcomed. I also tried the PIN and non PIN.

Thanks Richard B. I took a lot of different audio sources and editing over the time I created the channel. I now use da vinici resolve which helps make sure it easy to adjust audio levels!! 😊

Hi Peter! Thank you for your comment as always! I had a major issue with the 2x tele because I had not updated the software on the camera I was using. So I cant say for absolute certainty what the performance was like. From the research and talking to the Nikon folks here, I can ascertain that it is the best converter they have made. I think for stills it should be superb. And of course having to factor in the price of the 400mm its a clear winner. I would say as well that you are likely to still have a good price for it if you wish to sell it in the future, if it doesn’t fulfil your vision.

Hi sedy25… I do not own one. Nikon kindly lent it to me for this video. But like I say in the video - if I had to choose a lens or an adventure I will always choose the adventure.

Hi Rich, thank you for your comment. I believe that is a relative statement as I have not tried other lens like it I found it difficult to compare. The look and build were great and the images it produced were very good. For my iPhone. I hope that helps.

Hi Jeet, Thank you for your comment. I tend to start with the animal autofocus mode. If I have trouble with objects in front of the animal I will use the 2nd function button and front dial to switch quickly to the dynamic focus mode. Worst case I will then change to spot focus mode. There is a case of course to use the tracking box which is easily selected using the ok button which brings up the box and then hitting it again when you have the box over your animal so that it will then follow your subject. Unfortunately there is not one exact method which will fix all the problems but these tend to be your best options IMO. Hope that helps and I look forward to your comments and questions in the next video!

@@cmtravels Thank you, i previously owned the D850 which was great. Then got into Sony A7iv and yes the animal eye af works wonders on the Sony tracking Tigers, leopards. But within 3 month the exposure compensation lock switch broke and its still in service for 1 month with no proper timeline given. With the D850 i tend to stick with Single point af and sometimes Group area AF and i had no problem with focus with that also. The features of Sony helps though. But i am having serious thoughts about Sony's durability. I never had anything to repair in Nikon Dslrs for 3 years and in Sony it broke within 3 months. I have a trip to Kenya next month and i still don't know anything proper about my Sony A7iv. And i cannot afford The A1, Z9 & R3. And going back to Nikon Z7ii would still be very expensive. Because i have to buy the lenses again, the 70-200 f2.8 & 500mm PF f5.6. Lets see what happens. Thanks for the reply.

Hi Jeet, thank you for your comment. The DSLR's are just tanks! Especially the D850. The mirrorless system imo is only better with its video modes over the DSLR's, which to be fair were really built to be stills cameras. I am yet to get my hands on a Sony. So I could not say if they are robust or not but judging by your comments it would appear not. Best of luck and worst case see if you can find a camera hiring place and use the trusty Nikon.

Hahaha, thanks as always for the comment Peter! This old school landie was epic! Funnily it was the smell of the oil and petrol that reminded me of my youth learning to drive in an old Toyota BJ cruiser… probably from the 60’s. Hoping to take it for ride again soon!
