In house movement that is totally not reliable. Cartier should have kept on getting the top quality movements from Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Great review. Got one a month ago and absolutely love it. Just trying to get a feel for how real ones feel about it. She thick for sure, but it’s amazing and feels nice on wrist, most of the time.

ALL BEEN WAITING FOR? Maybe should wait a little longer. Saw your review of GS and the spring drive which compelled me to buy one this week ... HOWEVER ... Grand Seiko - Quality Control and Company Response TBD!! Heard so much about the Grand Seiko line and the Lake Suwa watch. The Spring Drive truly is in theory a great innovation and the sweeping second hand is impressive to look at. Quick run down: Bought one in Japan from authorized GS dealer and two days later found that the 5 day claim was inaccurate because it stopped after less than one day. Yes and the rear case back power reserve showed that it was full. Just two days and I never even sized or wore it yet. I immediately took it back to GS dealer that has offered to send it in to GS repair center to see what happened. This is somewhat concerning because list price is over 9K and you wouldn't expect this to happen to a Grand Seiko! I told the GS dealer if it requires opening up to repair I want a new replacement because this is brand new/never worn. So how would you feel if you bought a new watch and immediately it needed emergency care? Let's see how Grand Seiko responds to this "hopefully anomaly" and do the right thing because if Im the manufacturer and its an internal issue I would surely want to do the right thing and replace it right away. So far a bit disappointed to say the least and your viewers should be aware of this issue as well if they are considering this model.

i really really love grand seiko, the most innovative movements in the industry with great prices. but to me, the lange is more elegant, more refined, the classic original lange design, the plain and uncomplicated design along with the extreme of the thinness really brings out what the watch is, it’s a perfect dress watch. the grand seiko is for engineers, the lange is for artists

I don't know why you bought this watch! You bagged it that much, if I disliked a watch that much, I certainly wouldn't have bought it.

They could have mitigated the thickness by making the case side more curvy and not just a slab of steel

Why o why do some people give off about hacking seconds, who needs this. Patek, Vacheron and FP Journey say its puts unnessasary stress on the movement, which might mean less time spent back in Switzerland getting fixed.

As a complete package no GS can not complete with Lange but it can for some elements, plus lange temd to be significantly more expensive than GS.

Great review, does this watch come with a half link so you can get a good fit or are the links small enough you can anyway? Always nervous buying a watch that doesn't have micro-adjustment on the bracelet

I have one and it looks good with a NATO strap and also try the Everest curved end strap made exactly for this model! Great tool watch; especially for traveling between time zones!

There are so many gs models nowadays but the Snowflakes still a true modern icon, not just in Grand Seiko but in watch world in general

I bought a Snowflake a year ago and it's become the darling of my collection. I do like the winding sound and I find it slim enough, extremely confortable, mind you, I have a 19mm wrist. Good viedeo.

It’s been a year. Thought I’d comment looking back. I got so tired of the stupid games, that I gave up waitlists, and hold times, and purchase history after not even trying very hard. Just walked into an Omega/Rolex/Patek AD tried to buy two watches, was told each was out of stock, and backordered. Was told no timeline to get more, was then told to put down money on one, and maybe in 8 months one will come in. Did, then now four weeks later I own a Longines, a Grand Seiko, and looking to get my money back on the Omega PO wait list to buy the third and final watch from GS. I just don’t care anymore. Let people play games, but I’ll not join in.

It's a year from the release. Called the AD and they have a waiting list. A waiting list for a Tudor? Yeah, sure. Have a good one. Bought it brand new, under retail in grey market. They even dropped the two additional straps. Not playing that bs game.
