I've used quite a few lures from Ali Express and caught fish with most of them . Also I'd be much more likely to fish in a snaggey swim with a $3 lure than risk loosening a$20 lure. Had some incredible catches on their surface lures and would definitely recommend them.

That is the most action you could ever asked for for one hour of fishing! You couldn’t catch that many northern pikes in one hour with any other lures regardless of the price!

I see that you use fishing alarm and those fishing bobber - while using a float. Does that even work in combination?!? I thought that you can only use bottom feeder style with weight on the bottom of the lake if you wanna use alarm?! Why don't you use that method instead?

This place is so poorly run it's unreal. Place seems to attract noddys and idiots. Worst fishing experience of my life and will never return. No one seems respectful and even if you book a swim you turn up and someone across the other side is fishing your margin and don't understand why they have to move... half the people don't pay either

Great to see a newcomer enjoying it so much. Smaller hooks and baits will get you more flatfish. Casting is not about heaving and grunting it's about timing and technique so less effort and let the rod do what it's designed to do.

Wroxham is hammered beyond belief , I walked there a few times this pike season , one day I counted a staggering 27 pike floats between two bridges ! Also a dead jack in the dyke near Roy's car park . Shame

Holding is not the issue, it depends on how awake and aggressive they are.
