Young Bird Loft Build
Переглядів 1 тис.Рік тому
I decided to remodel my Young bird loft, instead of having three sections that are separated by dowels I’m changing the separations to solid walls. I am also adding a hallway in the front with one large aviary and trap combined. What I had before was separate traps for each section with small aviaries. The benefit of having one trap is the birds can all come into one spot and then move to their...
Widowhood Journey Episode #1
Переглядів 2,2 тис.Рік тому
This video is the first video in my Widowhood series. Today I am pairing up my Cocks and Hens for old bird racing. I plan on raising 1 baby from each pair of flyers. I chose today because it’s 77 days from the first race, watch my video for an explanation as to how I came to chose 77 days from the first race. Be sure to tune in and watch each video on widowhood as we go on this journey together...

We can’t give it to the pigeons that has baby pigeons?
How much was materials?
Hi, does this only treat pigeons after they got the worms or it also helps to prevent them from getting it? Thanks.
Very Informative video Sir but could You tell Me something real quick how much would You say to feed a single breeding pair of Pigeons that have two babies?
I couldn’t afford to build a loft so I turned My upstairs Bedroom Balcony into My Loft, My Mom isn’t so happy with the idea though.
❤❤❤
Where is episode 2?
lot of thought in this one. Nice loft.
Do you add the solution to a US gallon measurement?
most likely..
Very nice job .😊 congratulations
Would the dose be double per gallon in cold weather?

Very beautiful and strong pigeons
This is so neat, I like how the birds are coming right at you’
Thanks me too! This is one of my favorite angles so far!
Cool video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the video, what do you treat the pigeons with for lice
I regularly give them baths with bath salts and I like to use vet Schroeder anti parasite drops. One drop to the back of the neck once a year. I have also treated before with the automatic fly sprayer replacement cans you get from tractor supply, with that I would do one spray under each wing and one on the vent. The fly spray worked good but the bet Schroeder is once a year and one drop per pigeon. Hope this info helps!
@@SevenStrongLoft thanks for your reply
cant get quest plus were i live in uk
I would be afraid to offer a suggestion for a similar product because I’m not familiar with what’s available in the UK. The main ingredients in Quest Plus are Moxidectin and praziquantel.
Can you get it ifrom any vets

Hey hlw
Hi. You can feed them while using that?
Sorry for the delay I temporarily lost access to accounts. Yes you can feed them while using that. But I do withhold grit for 24 hours.
You have a email i can contact you at?

Nice 👍🙏🏽
This is so awesome
Great loft tour. Do you mind letting me know how big each section are?
Sorry for the delay, I thought I had replied to this. The two main sections are 6’ wide and 4’ deep. The smaller third section is 4’ wide and 5’ deep. The smaller section is a little deeper because it doesn’t have nest boxes in it. Though my new plan is to combine the smaller section with the cock section to add 8 more nest boxes giving me a total of 20 nest boxes for widowhood cocks.
Wow! What a great loft setup! The old timer knew what he was doing when he built this one. First class all the way. When you wanna get rid of it, hit me up! 🙂
Yes he did! I am blessed to have gotten it.
That is a very nice loft...

Looking good 🫡 where can i buy those dawls cheaper then home depot?
Home Depot and lowes are the only places I’ve found them. Usually I’ll grab a box of them at a time.
Yes sir appreciate your quick response! 🫡
I’m also Pigeon lover, your setup is outstanding.
Thank you!
Love your videos ❤ Hello from PAKISTAN 🇵🇰
Hello from the other side of the world and thank you!
I rather buy a house for birds
Thanks for sharing your method! It's nice to see a different way of worming the birds!
When the weather is cold, feed the bird more, birds needs to warm their body. Add more corn.
I still stay close to the amount in the video though. I may adjust my mix on time of year and weather. I adjust for racing and I do increase corn for colder weather and barley for less cold winter days. Unless I’m breeding or mounting then I give max protein.

Interesting, I believe that question how much is in connection to what you feed. If someone is using mixtures which are lower in energy then pigeons will need to eat bigger quantity of food. We feed in general 10 grams per pigeon morning and 20 grams per pigeon in the evening and are using mixtures which have relatively hig energy
Hey.. This is Mohammad Yousaf from Pakistan.. i have watched almost all of your videos and much much inspired.. you did a fantastic job. Appreciated 👏 I wana contact you personally. Can you plz share your contact with me ..

How do you feed for your longest races? Can you make a video of it? Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Thanks for asking Ralph, I will work on a video to show what I do for feeding based off length of races.
Is that amount, 1 can for 6 birds, once a day or twice? Thanx for sharing!
@@richonlife3958 I’m sorry I should’ve clarified that! I feed that amount twice a day, once for breakfast and once for dinner. Also when the breeders are pumping babies I will add a little extra in the mornings so they keep feed in the feeder most of the day. I prefer my babies to eat as much as their parents want to feed them. I do change up my mixes during racing for the birds on the race teams but I keep using the same amounts throughout the week except on shipping day. I will do some videos of those too, I just don’t keep those mixes on hand until closer to race season.
@@SevenStrongLoft Great, I thought that, that’s about the same amount I feed also. I also keep pellets in with the breeders. I feel the parents feed the babies pellets and they are easy for them to digest. Once weaned, no more pellets. Thanx for the reply.
@@richonlife3958 I tried pellets a few years ago but I didn’t like how damp the droppings were. I have been debating on trying the meat chicken 19% protein pellets at tractor supply mixed in to approximately 25% of the feed this year. I guess I have to decide soon because I started getting eggs yesterday!
