id like a tutorial on setting up the multiple outputs for kontakt in reaper! thank you!
@@kyfisher3662 Will make a tutorial on it some time. Thank you 😊
I'm waiting for mine to be delivered today. They look really great for the money!
@@andydoeseverything Hope you have fun with the MEDO 😊
That is NOT an XLR cable. But you did correctly mention multiple paths to earth (ground) will cause hum and buzz problems. The correct solution ALWAYS is to run the instrument signal through a direct box. A DI box has isolation transformers that decouple the physical signal connection. Buy one or two and you will have them for life. And they don't need to be active 48v powered or expensive. If you ever play live on stage you will need to have these. And NEVER EVER use anything that will lift (disconnect) the ground conductor on a power cable. That can be very dangerous. Isolate the audio signal.
@@edjefferson9175 Thanks for pointing out it isn't an XLR and thanks for the valuable insights on DI units. A DI is certainly more efficient and I might replace the noise cancellator with a DI box to see if it works for this type of setup :) although I don't have many high power devices. Thank you again for the advices!
I think the comments are ai generated.
Great Video very informative and to the point. Thank you!
@@j0banez Thank you so much 😊
Good video. You can use the Medo as a five-part multitimbral synth module. I connected it to Cubase and you can play all five parts via the computer. Unfortunately it doesn't accept midi in recording though.
@@tedgoat5153 Yeah unfortunately you can't record midi directly but you can record it as an audio file. It'd be great if we could export tracks from Donner control as midi files :)
Nice job, it sounds very magical. Why did you delete that short where you showed an ethnic flute to use in a OST? I like that short, the melody you composed sounded so mysterious and exotic Regards🤘🏻

@ I know 32 bit is more prone to errors. Did you record too many notes played all at once? Maybe try 64 bit because it can process more information at the same time and more stable.
@Hammy.Cinematic yeah 64 bit plugins it's OK. 32bit plugins that's problem that

I've just come to Reaper and seem like its a perfect for orchestral composing
@@longlemusic21 Reaper is great for all grenres of composing 😊!
Blade walker 😅. Really well done, all the layers work together perfectly and the choices of instruments are spot on for classic cyberpunk. Video production and lighting really works too.
@@justinhawley7783 Thank you so much for your kind words! I did put lots of effort on the video production as well 😊
Lol it seems the tears were justified. Especially the latency and deceptive VST expiration!

Love the video! Day 10 summed it all up, that is me every time I try and do anything on cubase...And I'm NOT Making Music! Totally Kills the creativity and who wants to take a college course? I just want to Make Music...to each their own but kudos on a great video of your Journey 😊
@@VONNRIOT It's certainly challenging to learn a new DAW, so I totally get where you're coming from! Sometimes it feels like a steep learning curve when all you want to do is make music 😊
Didnt really look like you were trying though...
If this was digital synth based instead of sample based I might be more interested. It would be a cool size if you could pair it with midi controller
@@surrealchemist Hopefully Donner will integrate digital synth capabilities in the future. Pairing it with MIDI would definitely make it even more versatile.
中国妹子么?好可爱!
Haven't used Cubase in about the same time fifteen years. I found it frustrating. I was using Studio One before that so I had a lot of intuition. I left from studio one because they kept changing their licensing and premium features to adding subscriptions and making exclusive features to the subscription and leaving perpetual users without even a option to buy them. Cubase you have to setup your outputs after you select your audio interface. The multi-timbral outputs took me a while to find where to toggle them on/off Sometimes you have to configure control room, then your metronome has to be reconfigured. Snap to grid gets confusing in Cubase. I also find time stretching and warping not straight forward. My daw intuition tells me for example select three mixer tracks and then I can use the faders on all of them at once...No they must be grouped. Double click on a parameter will reset the value to zero no you have to hold ALT. A tapestop effect grab a piece of a clip and process the tail with a pitch, semitone, fine curve...nope, how high of low won't make a timed difference. I still use it and have gotten a lot better with it...but it's not really beginner friendly in my opinion. If I were not so used to daws already and linear recording and routing I probably would've gave up. Upgraded 13 to 14, but let's see how long this lasts.
Where did the ground loop isolator come from
@@bubbajohn1373 Hi there! Not sure where it's manufactured, possibly from Asia. I discovered it on Amazon.

Reaper (and not Raper) is just so flexible. I use Cubasis on the iPad but just because Realer is not yet iOS , Reaper is smoother and polyvalent. Very nice review/comparison!
@@RosssRoyce I do know someone using Reaper on an iMac. Maybe it's still not yet supported by iPad yet. Hopefully Reaper will develop an IOS version.

its like the Artiphon, isn t it?
I haven't used Orba from Artiphon but the idea is similar. MEDO has an arpeggiator for the Chord which Orba doesn't seem to have
@@Hammy.Cinematic It seems much better than the Orba...and cheaper..:)
@@soilentmichi It's indeed cheaper. I'm personally happy with it :)
For those who are wondering how to use it as a midi controller: You can connect it directly to your DAW (just like many other controllers) to use it as a MIDI controller, and you can control with motion gestures (1:12). It can be connected via cable or Bluetooth, and will start to work as soon as it's connected.
It sure looks cool but I miss the point of using this as MIDI controller?

It's a MPE controller bro, plug it into ableton and use the gestures. It does what normal midi controllers cant
@@AudioCheck12are you serious? I just found this product - ironically - my off grid controller just broke and that sketchy Kickstarter company disappeared quickly so I’m stuck… I really miss my “pocket” controller. This one looks amazing, tbh I wish there was a “midi only” option that was thinner cause the only downside I see to its form factor is it doesn’t seem like it’s pocketable because of the thickness. I’m still tempted to buy it though - I hope it can fulfill the role my off-grid used to (producing with my iphone on the go - with a “MPC”-ish workflow). I’m sure people will love the groovebox aspect of it, but I could use one that didn’t have the extra required space to fit all that in (including the speaker) and simply did well with a 4x4 grid layout offering 16 midi channels which are quickly accessible via something like “a shift command”. That, would be a killer controller. Sorry for all the non-sense talk; and if you’re still around and since apparently you might own the device… do you know how reactive the sensitivity is? Would you consider it a decent drum pad? The off-grid was actually quite impressive in this regard. Thanks for your time 🙏🏼
