Is the hood scoops still fake?
We just got my wife a 1958 LC250. It’s a real Land Cruiser Prado lol 😂…I don’t think that’s the question I’m worried about however. My question is….can you add the Sway Bar Disconnect to the 1958 model for us at some point in the future and possibly MTS? …..our 1958 model is white and I just love the look of the black and white two done front fascia. I also love the cloth seats and love the fact that the rear hatch is manual and not electric. I ask because once the vehicle hits 100k miles I’m taking it over and building it out for off roading and getting my wife a limited 4 runner. Also the brakes started squeaking in reverse when backing out of the driveway after only 500 miles…is there a fix for that.
Why do I feel yall sold this truck for WAYYYYY over 100k
This _looks_ great and I'm sure it's a great foundation for a cargo area buildout, but goddamn is it overpriced at $1,295.
Do you guys have a tutorial on how to program the headlights/clear the code?
Awesome build. I’m currently planning on changing the tires on my 250 but I’m a little confused about the sizing of the tires you mentioned. The AT3 285 65/18 are listed as being 32.5 inch tires while the 285 70/18 are listed at 33.72 inches. You mentioned you have 34 inch tires on your build. Is something off or did you do something different to come up with the 34 inch wheels? Like the way yours looks and I’m interested in the same size for mine. Thanks.
It’s a shame that paper towel holder isn’t available anymore, that is such an awesome idea and spot for it!
Super nice build and great detailed video! If I may suggest one thing is to tweak your microphone setup. The audio was a little painful on the ears!
Can you do a video on the arb twin compressor design and install?
That’s a good place to put your switch pro!
🔥
i am interested to your ditch light bracket. where can i buy it? Thank you
Great video!. I would buy this in a heartbeat if it came with a second seat delete portion. I removed the second row seats and need something to go over that space as well. Ideally that rear space where the second row seats used to be also has a storage component. Do you know if they are going to make that as well? Also, I look forward to your video for the interior hatch button install to open the hatch from the inside when camping
Spoken like a true general manager. The problem is that the LC300 does exist, you know, in the real world. I guess Toyota could rebadge the LC250 as a Venza, and it would be a Venza. Plonk. Up to Toyota what they choose to import to NA, but the gaslighting around calling it a Land Cruiser is just your typical soulless corporate BS. And in case you haven't noticed. You can already pick one up for less than MSRP. Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes.
or you can just buy a Bronco and have 37,s and be topless :)
What size tires are you running on that beautiful thing? 275/60/20? Are there spacers? Thanks
stupid we can't powered running boards on the upper level trims with this option
4Runner has been equally a Land Cruiser for years, but then so has the FJ Cruiser and GXes….
Installed too low. Should be higher and to the side. Maybe the guy who installed this is 5" 6" tall.
Do you have any in stock now? I would really like one for my 2022 Tundra
PLEASE POST THE BRACKETS FOR THE POD LIFHTS. I can’t find them anywhere
Sweet build. Have a part number for that small hitch cover?
could u pls share the link of the "momentary button" for the back window? thx a lot
and how did u install the button?
Softex is not leather. But this guy looks like a leather daddy...so
In australia we only get the square Can these parts be used with our models to go round headlights?
I would assume so, but can’t confirm
Thanks Eric, I enjoyed the presentation. As you rightly stated, the holder of the trademark gets to name the product. 😉
Always appreciate the comments. Thanks for subscribing to the channel!
Eric doesn’t the door edge guards come on every new tundra and land cruiser? They sell it as an upgrade. But it’s on every one I’ve seen. Guessing because of the paper thin aluminum. They have to have it. And mine are coming off. The wife wants one of these. Hope it’s not garbage like my 23 tundra. Everything on the truck is flimsy and breaking. A true throw away vehicle.
Door Edge Guards is accessory code D5 on the Monroney Label $155 MSRP (installed): parts.edmartintoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-deg-lndc-040-white-pt9366024030 parts.edmartintoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-deg-lndc-089-wnd-chi-pt9366024031 parts.edmartintoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-deg-lndc-202-black-pt9366024032 parts.edmartintoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-deg-lndc-4v8-meteor-pt9366024034 parts.edmartintoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-deg-lndc-1l7-undergr-pt9366024035 parts.edmartintoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-deg-lndc-2zc-gray-pt9366024036 parts.edmartintoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-deg-lndc-2zd-blue-pt9366024037
I don’t see why anyone needs matching spare, original will get job done
I wouldn't suggest using a spare that is several inches different in diameter. I would really try to get as close as possible to match diameters.
@ you think 1-2” is that big of deal?
I want to do the same but I have an SR5 and I want to add the folding option how do I go about that
We sell the entire kit. I put a link in the video description to purchase. Thanks for the business
I like the wheel switch recommendation too. It’d be interesting to see a Tacoma that wasn’t black to see the contrast.
Thanks, what color would you like to see it on?
@ white, red, silver, green
Bronze oxide master race checking in!
Curious if you've seen either the Spider NDRR or Prospeed racks? I've been leaning towards the Prospeed, having seem them on several GX 470/460s but the Westcott looks to be roughly the same height.
No, I haven't seen them, I will have to check it out!
You are slowly killing that radio! that antenna is way too close to the body. another user in the facebook groups set there rig up this way and I asked them to check it. they are now going to look for a front fender mount. another thing as a ham you don't brodcast you transmit.
This is why I never got deep into ham radios, so many people want show off how much they think they know instead of just having fun and using their equipment.
@@edmartintoyota8599 you are speading miss infromation , you don't even call the radio what it is. the IC-2700 was dropped in 1999ish. All I ask is, if you are going to be puting stuff out there for the rest to learn from. make sure it's correct. if I spent $300+ on a radio and it burnt up because I blindly followed someones build I would be pissed. You already said "No, I havn't had any need to, works perfect for my simplex 2m useage" ignorance at it's finest
If you believe it's a Land Cruiser as Toyota Labelled it. And if you think it worth $75k then more power to you. Get in debt and enjoy. I personal don't so. To me ts a glorify 4runner. when I think of a Land Cruiser, I think of its Ruggedness, Less electronic, can conquer super rough terrain with minimal modification..such as an 80 series.
It does share a lot of parts with a T4R 6G, full time 4WD, rear+center lockers, and available lux pkgs. I think the height is about 6" higher too.
"I've HAD a 200" When did you get rid of your beautiful Blue Onyx Pearl 200 build; did you do a video about why you got rid of it? I loved your tour video of that; I hope to have a similar one some day
I wasn't planning to sell it, but a guy found me who needed it more. It is going to be used for many years to come.
@ I know how that goes, always hard to let something like that you love go, even if it's for the right price. Cheers for the response, love your Landcruiser content
Following this build for sure. You have the exact same LC250 as me. Could you link the ram mount and pad you use over the wireless charger? Hate that OE charger and want something like that where I can use the extra MagSafe charger I have already. Thx.
Ram mount tough bar: rammount.com/products/ram-track-exa-9bu Ram mount mag safe holder: rammount.com/products/rap-b-202-ap-magu
new LC -250 is good utilitarian choice. for us car campers /ovelander s as the sequoia TRD PRO is to much of a 3 row luxury family school bus , a 70 series troopy is a true LC but we cant have them or why TOYOTA cant give us a few LC300 models and less Lexus LX600 and LX700h 7 models now
well put
Oh nobody’s gonna say it? Okay I will. Sounds farty.
I never thought of that, but kinda true
Don't the rectangular ones perform better?
I can't confirm, but I plan to test soon
Here in Aus it's called a Landcruiser Prado... These here are classed as a light duty Landcruiser, where as the 80,100, 200, 300series is a HD landcruiser, due to it being bigger, heavier, and has a little more payload and higher GVM. This has always been the case over here, and alot of people here also don't like calling the Prado a "real" Landcruiser. But yeah, it's still a Landcruiser, but it's the "light beer" of Landcruisers, all watered down and tastes like crap. 😂 I liked seeing all the ring gears on the bench, apart from the 100series front, the 250's gears are fair amout smaller. And no, they would not be made out of some special stronger steel. Bigger ring gears with less teeth are just stronger, and the same diameter ring gear with 41 tooth is stronger than a 43 tooth of the same diameter ring gear.
Thanks for the great feedback Steve!
literally one of the dumbest videos ever made. vehicles didn't drop an inch
What matters more than torque and power is at what rpm. .. Torque curve is what matters most in an offroader
Thanks for chiming in. Good conversation!
The LC 300 is in the States; you can find it at Lexus dealerships. The 250 is the largest Prado ever. The 80 and 200 series were vastly different in their design intent. The 200 badly blurred the lines between Toyota and Lexus. The 250 was a return to basics of sorts, putting the utility back in SUV, which, by the way, is why I bought one. The Tundra shares common chassis components with the 70 series; would you call a Tundra a 70 series LC? Sit in a 4-runner of any generation and sit in a 250; they are not the same vehicle. They share common parts, which are Japanese design and manufacturing genius.
Great commentary.
You make really good videos. Stuff no one would really do and it’s very detailed info. I have the new Land Cruiser and have had the 100 and 200. Love the new one. Drive, comfort, power etc. let’s face it not many owners are off reading or beating these vehicles after paying 70-90k on one over the last years. My son has a new one as well and most likely will take care of it and drive for 8-10 years with little to zero issues. I also have the Trd pro 4Runners and love them but I bet the new one will be awesome as well. Highway power and acceleration on the new 250 is really good and I was skeptical on buying a 4 cylinder with never getting to test drive it as they were in demand when I bought it. Love the new model.
I really appreciate the comments. I love heading about the multi generation Land Cruiser family!
I’m a noob when it comes to wiring lights. I’m interested in the Blue Sea fuse block. How is that wired up to the ignition? I saw some people on a forum mentioning that it needs a contactor. Could you please point me in the right direction for how to do that?
Is this to prevent rub on the inside? Do you only have to do this with stock wheels? If I get +35 offset wheels with the 35’s, I won’t have to relocate the stabilizer bracket right?
I can’t really speak to a +35 offset, depends on tire width in combination with wheel offset. But yes, you don’t want to scrape your tire on that harness or bracket.
What terminal block/hardware did you use under the hood for the 12 volt lugs. Thanks
Nice build. You have me actually looking more at a 250 now.
Awesome. More to come
Who cares what you call it, it's an awesome driving truck that meets the needs of 90% of most people. For the hardcore offroaders- they're building dedicated rigs anyway.
Yes sir, I agree 100%
Just curious, why does the 80 and 100 have the same part number of the front ring gear even though they have different dimensions? My two cents re the argument, Prados are built tougher than most other Toyota, but the real LandCruisers are always built tougher (thicker steel for brackets and whatnot). The 250 is still a very capable car on- and off-road. Don't compare the specs of the 250 to the 200, which was designed 17yrs ago, compare it to the 300, whose design is only 3 yrs old. You'll see a much bigger difference. I imagine a Prado is still much more rugged than a Fortuner or 4Runner.
Thanks for the excellent points.
check your data, a 200 has way more torque than the 250
For the 200-series, see Page 14 in the official PDF brochure says 401 lb ft - link below www.toyota.com/content/dam/toyota/brochures/pdf/2021/landcruiser_ebrochure.pdf For the 250-series, 465 lb ft - see link below www.toyota.com/landcruiser/features/mpg_other_price/6165/6167
He seems from USA, therefore the powertrain is the iForce 4 cyl turbo. This powertrain has more torque than 200 series V8. There is always juice in the battery.
