    @mappingit thank you so much for such a wonderful and detailed video on Iceland. What camera did you use? The video quality was sooo good.. I am planning to buy one for our trip we are planning to go next month and wondering what type of camera can we take to capture the beauty of Iceland. If you don't mind can you please share the name of the camera please..Thanks! Thank you for the video!

      @MappingIt 3 дні тому

      We're glad you enjoyed our video! You might be surprised to learn that most of this video was filmed using our iPhones, a GoPro, and a drone. We have iPhone 13 Pros (fairly old at this point and we're hoping to upgrade to the newest model soon), but we find the clarify, stabilization and quality of photos and videos to be really great. We also have a GoPro Hero 10 that we sometimes use. Our current drone is a DJI Mini 3 Pro, compact and great for travel, but the footage you see in the Iceland video is actually filmed on an older drone that we no longer use but still love (DJI Mavic Air). We also use a Sony a7iv mirrorless camera and it shoots great photos and videos. Another camera we've used and loved for almost a decade was an entry-level Nikon DSLR camera (the D3200). We've found that the best camera is the one you have with you! When we travel, we might bring 3-4 cameras with us, but often we find ourselves pulling out our phones due to how convenient and compact they are to travel with. We hope this helps you decide what to bring on your trip. You're going to love Iceland! Thanks for watching and happy travels!

    Hi there. Loved all your videos from the fair! Planning our food adventure for this year. You mentioned your favorite food but I can't find it. Did you mean Andy's Grille? Also, what is the food? If you all liked it, I have to try it.

      The fair is right around the corner and we can't wait, and we're glad you're planning to go too! The food we mentioned was the quesabirria tacos from Andy's Garage at the International Bazaar (you can see us try them in our Corn Dog vs Pronto Pup video: ua-cam.com/video/IAjnSJlaVfU/v-deo.html). Sadly, they aren't going to be at the fair this year. Some of our other fair favorites: deep fried olives on a stick from Fried Fruit and Fried Olives, mini donuts from Tom Thumb, and of course pronto pups! Thanks for watching and we hope you have a blast at the fair!

    Awesome video! Any info on the parking at Hamnoy viewpoint? I have read some reviews that parking in Reine town is expensive.

    • @MappingIt
      @MappingIt 5 днів тому

      When we visited Lofoten, we rarely had to pay for parking (other than paying for some camping spots). There are a lot of pull offs on the side of the road where you can park for free and enjoy scenic views for a short time. We didn’t go into Reine, so we’re not sure how much parking would cost, but in the other towns we visited there were always free places to park. As for the scenic viewpoint in Hamnøy, there is a small pull off on the side of the road near the bridge that you can park at for free and then walk over the bridge to get nice views. Just don’t stay long because it’s a very popular spot and everyone wants to park there. There’s also a pretty large parking lot in Sakrisøy near Anita’s Sjømat and you can get a really tasty fish sandwich and then walk about 1km (about 15 minutes) over to Hamnøy for some nice views. One other option is to stay at Eliassen Rorbuer in Hamnøy so that you can stay in one of the red fisherman’s houses and enjoy constant views of the mountains around you!

    Thank you very much for the video, very nice shots and informative too! Am thinking of going there last week of this September for only 5 days(wish I have more time but my partner cannot get more vacation leave). Which places do you think I should or can cover from your itinerary? Also saw that you visited Singapore! And tried some of the hawker centre food. Hope you liked the food and the heat =D

    • @MappingIt
      @MappingIt 19 днів тому

      The heat in Singapore is no joke, but we survived 😄 We love the food and hope to go back and try even more! With only 5 days, you may want to stick to the highlights of Iceland: Reykjavik and the South Coast, maybe add on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, or the glacier lagoon depending on your preferences. If you like to go at a slower pace, we'd recommend staying 5 nights in Reykjavik and doing day trips to different places. Snaefellsnes, the Golden Circle, and parts of the South Coast (like Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss) can all be done as day trips. And then you could spend the rest of the time exploring Reykjavik. Alternately, if you like a fast pace of travel, you could split your time between Reykjavik and the South Coast. A couple nights in Reykjavik will be plenty of time to explore the city and maybe do the Golden Circle, or stop by a thermal bath like the Blue Lagoon. You could spend 3 nights in Vik and see a ton of things: Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Reynisfjara beach, Fjadrargljufur canyon, and a glacier or two! You could even do the long drive out to Jokulsarlon (if the road is open) and do a zodiac boat tour. You're going to have a blast in Iceland! Thanks for watching and happy travels!

    • @MappingIt
      @MappingIt 28 днів тому

      If you don't stop to take photos, it's probably about a 15 minute walk to the top, with about 100m of elevation gained. It's a pretty easy path up and there are a handful of smaller waterfalls along the way to enjoy. We spent about 2 hours in total but we also ate lunch and took tons of photos while we were there. If you're more efficient with your time, you could probably do it much faster than us. We love Dynjandi, it's one of our favorite falls in Iceland! Have a great time and thanks for watching!

    A few fun facts about Bosnia and Herzegovina: 1. The potato "burek" you ate in Sarajevo is not called burek actually. It's called krompirusa. "Pita" or a pie is the name for all the cheese or vegetable stuffed pies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the name "burek" is reserved only for the meat filled pie. 2. The tradition of jumping off the Mostar's old bridge for money collected from the onlookers is almost as old as the bridge itself. An Ottoman Turkish travel writer Evlija Celebija wrote about it in the 16th century on his travels across the Herzegovina. Thank you for visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina. 💙

      We've only been to Bosnia in July, so we're not sure if the flowers will still be in bloom in October. It might depend on what the weather is like and if there's been a lot of rain/cold days. Thanks for watching!

    You are a wonderful couple and thank you for visiting my homeland, and I'm really sorry that the wrestlers robbed you of your tickets to the cow waterfall! The ticket price is 20 BAM (10 euros). You should have checked the prices online in advance! Unfortunately, corruption is the biggest symptom of the disease called nationalism in my country! Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who consider themselves Croats prefer Croatia and work for their interests, destroying in every possible way the reputation, economy, security, etc. of Bosnia and Herzegovina, because their goal is to destroy the country, and that part that they ethnically cleansed of all those who did not considered themselves Croats, eventually joined Croatia! That's why I recommend all tourists to inform themselves about the prices in advance!

      It might surprise you, but for pretty much everything you see in the Croatia video, we used our iPhone 13 Pros (they're pretty old at this point) but it goes to show that you can get great footage just from a phone! We shoot in 4K and the video quality and clarity are excellent, plus the built in stabilization on the iPhones is great for shooting video when moving. We also use a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone, a Sony a7iv mirrorless camera, and a GoPro Hero 10. We love the quality of photos and videos from all of these cameras as well, but our main vlogging camera is our iPhones.

    • @MappingIt
      @MappingIt Місяць тому

      It was pretty cold in December, but not too bad (but we're from Minnesota, so we're used to cold weather). We were very comfortable with winter coats, gloves, and scarves. Layers are your friend because it can be windy at times. There wasn't much snow while we were there, but it did rain a lot, so we definitely recommend packing an umbrella or raincoat. Thanks for watching!

    Did they have the elf houses on the side of the road still. I remember that from when I was there, they built tiny houses for the elves when I was there. It's like a whole tradition.

    • @MappingIt

    Thank you for the great blog with lots of important information on going to Nusa Penida from Sanur. We will be visiting in late July and we were wondering how do we arrange for pick up from Nusa Penida port to our hotel? Can you share contact details of the driver who picked you up from the port? Thanks in advance.

    • @MappingIt
      @MappingIt 2 місяці тому

      We just messaged our Airbnb before we got there to ask them to organize a driver to pick us up from the harbor. When we got off the boat, there was someone holding up a sign waiting for us, it was great. And after we got to the Airbnb, we were able to have them organize a sunrise tour. We highly recommend reaching out to your hotel or your airbnb host to have them help you organize a driver. If you're interested in where we stayed on Nusa Penida, you can find the link in the video description. Thanks for watching and have a great trip!
