@@MartinGarry i use ..little one for dwarf hamsters with harry hamster [ after i remove all the coloured pieces and the corn ] .hammycats69 channel has a whole playlist on hamster foods reviews which i find very informative .

Yes all hamster species can have a water bowl even dwarves ☺️ the seed mix I used in this I think is the harry hamster one however I have since switched to getzoo golden hamster seed mix and it's so good!! :)

I can definitely see why you think this but tbh this cage was never meant to be this big 😭 I also get how not everyone has space for a cage this big but at the same time people should have the space and more if needed for an animal before they get one!! it's also worth noting that hamster care is always progressing and these size cages are becoming more of the norm :)

If your hamster seems happy then that's the main thing :) but do remember that the optimal amount of floor space for a hamster is 800+ sq inches so possibly aim for that in the future when / if you can ☺️

That is definitely the better option as you're not directly supporting the pet shop if they animal is free

@@MartinGarry unfortunatly my pet shop pets at home does sell them but for less than the other hamsters on shop floor

@@MartinGarry sm! The only thing that annoys me are the platforms,because I had to remove them to add more bedding,and also the pull out tray is so annoying because i have 25 cm of bedding,so it was really just paying extra money for the tray,but I think that for the size it’s really affordable!

Yes I definitely agree the platforms were annoying! And I also done get the pull out tray bc if you were to use the amount of bedding to fit the tray it would be like nothing 😅

@@MartinGarry bc of the bedding,(I use Kaytee so it is really stable)the pull out tray isn’t pull-otable anymore it’s like stuck haha

Thank you sm 🫶 it is so interesting bc irl they're so visibly different yet everyone just calls any rodent a "rat"... I've even had people call my past dwarf hamsters rats and I was shocked bc they look the least like one 😭

Thank you! But I completely agree. Some of them are so disturbing even if it's a joke. I personally don't think making up scenarios where a small animal is hurt or killed brutally is very funny...

I completely forgot about chews 😭 however if you have a cage full of natural wood plus a good quality seed mix that should keep your hamsters teeth healthy :) stones are also such a good rec especially in a sand bath also it really helps

Can I put stones I found outside after they were washed and frozen to kill of bacteria? Or should I put aquarium stones from the pet store?

@@Fricclolo yes you can use stones from outside! If you wash them and put them in boiling water then dry them in the oven it will kill all bacteria

Yes such a good recommendation! I have a wooden platform that I use as a wheel stand but there is a Niteangel one for the wheel I have that I want to get soon. But it helps sm especially with the wheel getting stuck / being slow from bedding :)

I also made a wheel stand and it’s kind of a hideout under it he loves it ❤

I definitely do spend a lot of time watching him exploring and running on his wheel 🙈 And when you get a hamster you quickly learn so much when you start researching and realising pet shops sell a lot of misinformation unfortunately 🥲 but so glad to hear you've been doing so yourself and best of luck with your hamster ❤️ also if you are looking for a good cage rec the pawhut is definitely the best price (£70-90) for the size imo ☺️

Thank you! I love the Niteangel wheel it's really good quality and soo quiet but was expensive to buy 😭 And haha hamsters can be very picky about what they eat 😂

Yes it's the biggest thing I struggle with when setting up new enclosures 😅 and keeping your robos wheel and house in the same spot is definitely a good idea to limit stress! I usually keep Chais house in the same place but he's started peeing sm more in his burrow I had to do a deep clean / rearrange.
