      LOL!!! We figured you two would get a kick out of our lame Wisconsin accents. We absolutely do think you guys have the funnest accent in the country, we just love it!! As for Sioux Falls, if you haven't been there yet you really have to go. It's a cool town with quite a bit to see and do. South Dakota is this interesting state when you have lovely places to visit on either side, and then nothing in the middle! Thanks for commenting and safe travels!!!

      Yay!!! Thanks for the kind words on the footage of the falls. You'll see with a lot of our more picturesque stuff there's not a lot of us yammering away on camera. We have the belief that with things like that we need to just shut up and let its natural beauty tell the story. And Sioux Falls had plenty of that beauty, it's really a lovely place.

    The story of how Brinkley was founded and the guys behind it all is pretty amazing. Simply put, they left their jobs at a different major RV manufacturer to create their own company so they could "do things right" with the production quality and customer service in the industry. The biggest shortcoming of the Brinkley operation is the fact that they rely 100% on RV Dealerships to sell their RV's. If Brinkley had simply done what Tesla did when they launched their new product, and revolutionized the car purchasing experience, by NOT relying on dealerships.....well, they would have completely did what they said they were going to do. So yeah, the weakest link here is the RV Dealerships and the fact that nearly all of them are garbage and full of conmen is just sad. The customer service and the level of service these RV Dealerships provide post sale, is simply pathetic. HEY BRINKLEY......PULL ALL OF YOUR TRAILERS FROM RV DEALERSHIPS AND SELL THEM AT YOUR OWN LOCATIONS AROUND THE NATION.....WE WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT!!! The truth is, Tesla already has proven the concept works and works very, very well. Brinkley simply needs a couple of locations, strategically located, to ship finished trailers to for storage until purchased. People buy/order them from wherever they want, the trailer is shipped to them, or they can travel to pick them up at these storage locations. Sounds simple, is simple, and is already proven to work. Now make it happen Brinkley!!!

    • @ourrvsunsets
      @ourrvsunsets 17 годин тому

      Can't say that I disagree with you. I do think the dealership is the weakest link, and who knows what will happen in the future. I would certainly welcome the change you're suggesting, but I also have no idea what the logistics and cost of doing it would be. Thanks for the comment!

    Hey Kiddos! The accents were great but that last one really sounded like an Irish accent! LOL! That park was amazing what a gorgeous park I would want to walk it everyday wow incredible. Gracie was living her best life for sure! The brewery in town had a nice variety I bet Ron would have went with that sour. I love Porters and Stouts and I am surprised when I pick it during the summer as well but I know it must be a really good one when I do especially if its a hot day and I do. • @ourrvsunsets
      @ourrvsunsets 3 дні тому

      It's definitely worth a stop. The falls are really lovely. The drone footage was a bit of an endeavor to get. The airspace is in the controlled airspace for Joe Foss Field which is the main airport for Sioux Falls. Once I had FAA clearance I had to then send that to DJI to get them to unlock the airspace in my drone. And after all of that was complete I had to keep it under 100 feel as that the altitude limit in that airspace. Kind of a crazy procedure to get it done, but worth the shots! Thanks as always for watching and commenting!!

    Hi there! I’m the person you pointed in your direction from Reddit. I’ve watched about 10 of your videos now and love your format - and especially love how you keep them shorter. So much nicer to watch than those hour long videos of people driving. This is great information. The hubs and I both work full-time remote and when we head out to FT RV we will have to have at least a couple solid solutions and I think starlink is probably a must-have as a backup at least. And your safety point is a great one. So now my next questions for you… the washer and dryer. Most people tell me they are more trouble than they are worth. I think spending my fun and awake time in a laundromat sounds sucky when I can be washing loads while I work all day. Since you guys have them - what’s your take?

    • @ourrvsunsets
      @ourrvsunsets 6 днів тому

      First off thank you for the kind words on our videos and format! We try to keep the more travel vlog videos to around 12 to 15 minutes. We also try to keep them moving at a quick pace. The only exceptions to that rule are when we're doing informational content, length on those tend to be a bit longer. Or if it's a video on a more beautiful than normal place. Pacing on those tend to slow down so that the images of the place have time to tell their story. You'll also notice that when we're in those beautiful places there's not a lot of us yammering on camera. That's mainly because we don't want to be those "UA-camrs" that are interrupting everyone's enjoyment of nature, but also because when we're in a place like Glacier or Yellowstone or etc... those places are a hell of a lot more interesting and beautiful than our mugs. We let the place tell it's own story. On to the washer and dryer. This was one of Toni's must haves when we upgraded from our travel trailer to our 5th wheel, and it has made life way easier. The argument most people make against it is that "Most RV parks have laundry facilities" And while that is true, we also discovered that a lot of times half the machines didn't work. Or in one case that facility was only open for 3 hours a day. Having the units in the rig just makes it so much more easier. We basically do a load a day when we have hookups and that keeps us in clean laundry all the time. If we are boondocking we don't do laundry to conserve water and grey tank space, but plan a full hookup spot afterwards and knock it all out in a day. After having them, we think a washer and dryer is a must. One side note on the washer and dryer. If you go with a Splendide washer make sure you replace the supply hoses that it comes with with something better. The ones that it ships with have plastic fitting. That, along with an incompetent dealer, meant we wound up with a water leak in our rig right after we purchased it, I'll link that video below. Lastly, as you move closer to going full-time please feel free to keep us in mind if you have any questions on it. You can ping us here or even email us, our email address is in our About sections at the top of our channel page. We're always happy to share whatever knowledge we have gained while living this lifestyle. Here's that link: ua-cam.com/video/jfoBAvwxoV8/v-deo.htmlsi=gvR30D5d4n7o1goN

    We use Starlink and have loved it. Our travels have been exclusively out west, so we can usually get a clear view of the sky. I do put it on the end of 20’ telescoping pole to get it above shorter trees and other obstacles. • @ourrvsunsets

      @ourrvsunsets orilies sells a battery isolator it let's power go 1 way to prevent overcharging and power draws. Depending on how you set it up. I installed a second battery on my UTV and had to get one as the smaller battery was just for starting and the basic lights on it. I installed more lights and a wintch, and it would draw the starting battery down to the point the lights would flicker or go out while using the winch and lights in the winter to plow snow. Basically, with the battery isolator, it will charge from the vehicle. Or you can run a second battery from the tow vehicle to the brakes and isolator to the other battery or the camper in your picture is new enough that there should be a battery shut off already in the camper for a winterized set up so that the battery doesn't get drained while in storage.

    My first time seeing your videos…I appreciate seeing the honest truth of how things are going…I’m in between a Z3100 Brinkley or a 3123RL Montana. We are on the road 7 months a year, not full time… my opinion is these very few companies buying up ALL the smaller RV dealers is a BAD thing for us! Good to hear Brinkley customer service is great…that’s a big plus!

    • @ourrvsunsets
      @ourrvsunsets 16 днів тому

      First off, we're glad you found us. We will always give our honest opinions on things, our audiences trust in the most important thing for us. As for your comment on a few companies buying up all the RV manufacturers being a bad thing, we couldn't agree more!!! Honestly I think that's a problem across the board in the American economy. From RV's to breakfast cereal there's been way too much consolidation of products into fewer and fewer manufacturers. You can't have a free market where competition benefits the consumer when there very little competition. All of that last paragraph is one of the reasons we were so excited to see Brinkley enter the RV market. We think they are doing some innovative things that just might force those other manufacturers to have to step up their game to stay competitive. Good luck on your hunt for your new RV!! The process is always stressful, but make sure that you have a little fun with it as well. And if you have specific questions about Brinkley feel free to ping us with them.

There's a few different options on Amazon, and I remember hearing that Harbor Freight had a case that fits it. I have a 2021 Ram 3500 Limited Mega Cab and I love it.. I know the Aisin can be a little finicky at times but I only seem to have the defuel slow shift when the truck is cold. After the transmission warms up, it runs great. It is by far in my opinion the best towing transmission (in two haul mode) on the market. I agree that the exhaust brake is number by a very large margin. I do my own oil and fuel filter change to save that money. The one thing I hate is the 31 gallon fuel tank on this truck, it ridiculous. Nice breakdown.

      Funny you mentioned a car wash. Toni and I had done a little banter about how we can get the single rear wheel through a car wash but it got cut for time. Honestly it's a trade off for us. While we can get into a car wash, we have to be diligent about what we bring into the rig because of weight. If we had gone with the dually that wouldn't be an issue. Something to think about is when having to get service done on the truck call around each dealership has different costs for doing the service on the truck. • @Bob-gy6ud
    @Bob-gy6ud 26 днів тому

    People forget that tongue weight is immediately added to payload. Which is why most people exceed 1/2 ton trucks. Basically if towing with 1/2 ton truck the truck has to be basically empty less people and fuel. It’s better to load out the trailer to close to max weight to keep truck payload down, but you need to weigh your trailer to get the tongue weight. Truth is 1/2 ton trucks were designed to haul a U-Haul trailer, utility trailer, or a simple boat.

    Towing a popup camper, small utility trailer or 2 sled/ATV/SXS trailer, you will be ok towing with a half ton pickup. If you are towing a 16' - 24' camper you will a 3/4 ton pickup. 28' or bigger you need a one ton. My rule of thumb is when buying a pickup, think of what you will be towing and step up to the next size bigger. That way you will have room to spare on towing capacity. There is no overkill when it comes to towing!
