    She is very humble, she put in the hard work by running those over distances earlier in the season.. she is not afraid to Compete and she run with confidence, I’m extremely proud of her . She is going to be around for a longtime and the said can be say about Leslie Teego .

    The irony is that some of the same athletes who have not bothered to cultivate a relationship with the fans are often the ones complaining that they don't get the "respect" and recognition they deserve. Going back to the topic, Jamaicans, as a whole, are superstitious people; we like to keep our cards close to the chest, for fear of "bad mind" and such.

    Duh, Bolt of course! He's fast plus he used to run the 400M, so he has that strength also. Bolt never ran the 200M and appeared to be out of gas. It is his pet race. Sorry Mike!

    Love Michael Johnson , however Bolt would win hands down. I believe that the strong 100m and 200m sprinter beats the 200m -400m sprinter over 200m any day. These are two exceptional athletes in their prime, but bolt is the better of the two. Bolt physical attributes would give him the advantage. Stride length matters in this situation and again Bolt has the advantage.

    Now that I've watched the video....the answer is STILL Bolt 🙂 Outside of the 19.32, MJ's next best 200m time is 19.71. Bolt's overall 200m times are waaaayyyyy better than MJ's. That coupled with Bolt's SUPERIOR 100m speed makes him unbeatable if they're both in their primes. (btw...MJ's 100m PR is 10.09)

    I share your sentiments, Dr. Greg. Some of it is simply a consequence of Jamaicans being extremely private and secretive people. Another part of it has to do with the fact that the majority of our athletes are not very business minded, and don't understand how to use social media as a way to enhance their brand and, therefore, increase their earnings. Why on Earth is it a secret where Elaine is training or if Shelley has really retired? Then again, in some cases, it is good when some don't speak because they way they often come across is so unwelcoming.

    You are 100% correct Dr. Haughton. I too have noticed this trend, and now I am completely turned off. When they are not hiding they are lying about their fitness status. The 2023 season was very disappointing for me, not because of the paucity of medals but more for how the fans were taken around the mulberry bush, especially by Shericka Jackson and her team who seem to think that we are all morons. I can honestly say that I am now totally disconnected and have now taken the attitude that whatever happens happens.

    • @cosmicwisdom999
      @cosmicwisdom999 3 дні тому

      Yes, they knew they were injured, but they were either buying time to see if their injuries would miraculously disappear or maybe they made the Paris appearance because on contract reason. Also, who wouldn't want to take a free trip to Paris...lol

    • @audreydavis45
      @audreydavis45 3 дні тому

      @cosmicwisdom99 Yes, but in Shericka's case her team kept saying that she was good and ready to run only for us to hear of last minute withdrawals. This charade went on for the entire season, as even after the national trials a reporter stated that the media was told to steer clear of asking her anything about her injury or fitness status so they deliberately misled us for the entire season. If they were iffy, at least we would have known that there was some doubt but the way they talked they made us very hopeful only to have our hopes dashed by deception.

    • @cosmicwisdom999
      @cosmicwisdom999 3 дні тому

      @audreydavis45 Because they get money to show up and even more if they run at least one race, so that's why I stated that she probably showed up based on contraction agreement. .

    What’s interesting, Dr. Haughton, is that this is a universal issue among the Jamaican athletes. We don’t know what’s going on with any of them as it pertains to their health, training etc. Although you did not state explicitly, it appears that it may not be the athletes making the decision to conduct their business privately, but the coaches and/or their team. It is very strange, indeed. I am led to believe that something is amiss behind the scenes in the Jamaican track and field community. There is obviously something we, the fans, are not privy to and that is why all of them (athletes, coaches and teams) are behaving the same way.

    I am tired of the overworked cliche "next Usain Bolt." First it was Erriyon Knighton, then Letsile Tebogo, now its Gout Gout. I wonder who will be next? Everyone is going overboard, hyperventilating with surreal expectations based mostly on a fervent obsession to find the next Usain Bolt. How many so-called high school/college phenoms we have seen over the years who did not have a successful transition to the professional ranks? It's early days yet, so only time will tell if Gout Gout will achieve the success everyone is anticipating. All we can do right now is wish him the best and wait to see how things pan out over the next few years.

    Gout doesn't just have talent. He has exceptional talent, as did Usain Bolt. Even so it will require a lot more than talent to become great. If he has the right support team in his corner I believe this young man could be as good as Bolt, but it will not be easy. It is not so much about his physical capability. Can he handle pressure as well as Bolt did? Does he have the mettle and composure to perform at his best when the stakes are high. We will just have to wait and see.

The contest has only just begun a fit Shericka is simply to good to ignore and Tia Clayton top 4 with Dina its closer than you think...But Sha'carri will come back with the world lead...And you should get "Paul Francis on the show.. he will go deeper to whats in yard at @Mvp from different perspective he will reveal the scariest women' Athlete they have aside from Shericka who is only 20yrs old

There is no doubt that she is Physically talented but I am not sure if she is mentally strong. She lost all her race after leading coming out of drive into transitioning phase. I am not a coach but i believe this is mental. John should be able to redirected her believe system and physical attribute to be in alignment to run a complete 100m. She has too much talent to be not on the big stage producing consistently. I would hope a father figure in John and change will help. Keep up the good work Dr. Greg.

That said she was very generous and supportive of what unfolded at trials. Going forward she has a massive role with Serena in getting the 4x100 back to being dominate ..pretty sure those two own the starting role .But Ato did name 3 junior super stars that are ahead of Briana on the scale .

Its the Fans and UA-camrs that are speeding up our athletes. Most fans/youtubers overreact to every race like its the final product, so every "slow or fast" time the athletes put down we jump on and praise or criticize them. We just have to give them time. At the end is the day. These folks are turning pro at 18 and 19 before any success on the world stage. Professionalism = Results. College = development and growth (see JA) Felix was a WC at 18 so results, Tamaria Davis and Williams both turned pro out of high school and have not reached their potential. At this point the self bought starts to creep in. Lyston at LSU and Davis at Texas I’m rooting for them both.
