what if your door is too short and doesn't reach the purlin/header? My door is 72" to the top and the metal is at 74". The extra pieces are too tall. It is frustrating me greatly.

You mentioned that you'd like it if the laser was also a range fiinder. Laser range finders exist, and they can be as accurate as you want depending on what you're willing to pay for. If Stabila included range finding in this product, would it be worth an extra 1, 2, or 3 hundred bucks? One milimeter accuracy should be doable.

NARF! Hi, how come you always put the bolts on the edge of the top of the pier? It just bothers me.. i'd think the center would be nicer. 2nd question.. What manufacturer do you use? Although seems like they mis ship/build a lot of things, that you have to fix. I'm in Buffalo NY, so I'm considering one that will be better suited to snow load. Do the manufacturers give you some sort of plate to set those bolts in the concrete? How exactly do you measure them all out? I would think this is one of the most important parts. It looks like the metal goes together even easier than wood, so I'm interested in seeing if that works better for me. The wood screws are for the wood doors.

It's an overkill to use an air tractor plane to keep the cement moist while it cures :D

I'm going to do the same thing you did. I don't want to install flashing the right way because the inside of the wall has been spray foam insulated.

Did you use rake trim, then do the small angle bend yourself ?
