    Non-spoilery Advice for anyone reading this in the future.... If you plan on going on a resource grind ONLY take what you need you will want your inventory as empty as possible. More inventory space = More you can pick up. The Seamoth has a STORAGE space built on it, You can also craft an additional storage mod for it. I recommend doing so. When going to the islands you will want a basically empty inventory all you really need is your knife, repair tool, food and water. You do NOT need your radiation helmet. There is no radiation on the islands. With your inventory being mostly empty and the extra storage on the seamoth you should be able to gather all the resources in 1 trip. Gather ALL the edible plants/trees. Plant them inside your base. You will then have unlimited food source.

      I appreciate the notion that someone might want to have watched me do that, but I decided not to for two reasons. 1 being that it took me longer to build these bases than I assume anyone would want to watch for. Perhaps I was wrong though.. 2 being the fact that there is at least one channel that I know of (and there's guaranteed many more) that specializes in building tutorials and tips. Bummer about not recording the first loop. Oh well, these things happen. 7:05 "Why is the Interloper flying backwards?" - that's how comets actually work. A comet's tail doesn't stream out behind it as it moves, the tail always points away from the sun (because it's caused by particles from the comet being pushed away by solar radiation). You can see in your video at 6:47 that its tail is pointing to the left, and then swings around to the right as it passes the sun. 19:31 "Let's go up here, I guess. Maybe not" - for the record, your jetpack has a boost function which can get you up short distances like that. 31:57 "I wanna say it's Mobius - I think Annapurna was the publisher. Which may have recently shut down? Don't quote me on that." - yes, correct, Mobius Digital Games made Outer Wilds, Annapurna were their very supportive publisher. And yes, Annapurna has recently been in the news because their staff (including management) all resigned recently over disagreements with their owner. Mobius Digital have confirmed that the Annapurna drama has not affected them and the development of their next game. 46:39 You were coming in at 50+ m/s, which is way too fast. Don't forget, you need to brake for as much time as you thrusted to get back to zero. Your suit thrusters are far less powerful than your ship thrusters, too. 47:31 Just one more loop! 1:13:07 "Has anyone else ever done that?" - yes, I certainly have, and I've seen it happen in other playthroughs too. Got to love Hearthian safety standards 😁 BTW, if you end up at the white hole again, take some time to look around. You seem to always pick some distant or passing astral body to bee-line for and die, but there is stuff to find right by the white hole too.

    Cool OP/ED, I don't remember seeing it before. Out of the gate in 4-1, that black phantom only spawns at pure black world tendency. Most pure black world tendency phantoms don't appear right near your spawn point, and they're all pretty rude, but at least they stay dead once you kill them since they're basically mini-bosses. I was wondering when you would find the Nexus was growing more populated, haha. It's good to check around periodically to keep track of new and/or missing people. Especially if people go missing unexpectedly... For Sage Freke, the rude guy near him and the people of faith, they don't have much to say to you because you haven't raised your Magic and Faith stats to at least 10. Speaking of stats, your current build won't ever see higher damage by raising strength. Why? Because, your dragon sword has decent base damage and the weapon upgrades improve that damage, but a dragon sword has absolutely no attribute scaling. I am glad to see you got the 2-1 blacksmith to take Flamelurker's soul. The reason you still can't do anything with the boss souls is this game unfortunately has incredibly specific requirements that you'd only find through a lot of trial-and-error. The later Fromsoft games are much clearer and less restrictive about crafting and upgrade paths. In addition to the boss souls, you also need to have specific weapon types at specific upgrade levels. To save you a wiki trip, the combinations you could use now would be: Swollen Demon's Soul with one of Club +0 or Great Club +0 (+0 meaning not upgraded); Hard Demon's Soul with one of Short Bow +7 or Long Bow +7; Lead Demon's Soul with Short Spear +7. Just think carefully before you actually trade for the boss weapons, as you could instead trade boss souls for spells/miracles from certain people.

      @Raddy2Framez 4 місяці тому

      Thank you! I've checked out the wiki once (and briefly) but only to see where and how to allocate the boss demon's souls. It's a little confusing 😅 I'm not the biggest fan of that system and am glad to hear that Fromsoft didn't continue it in future games. I don't want to feel obligated to go to a wiki and risk spoilers. All-in-all though, I am enjoying the game more and more!

    The ship refusing to lock on a target is a common bug, luckily it's also very easy to fix: you can simply unplug/replug your gamepad and it should work again. Usually it fixes the issue for the current session only, so if you have to restart the game or reboot your PC for any reason you may also have to reapply the fix. You can also try changing the hotkey for 'lock on' (in the game settings) to something else, then reassign it to whatever you like (this is mostly for when you're playing on keyboard while the gamepad is unplugged, as the issue can also happen with no gamepad currently active).

    12:03 "Ok... match velocity. Match velocity!" - you match velocity with whatever you're locked onto, and you didn't have either of the Twins selected here. If nothing is selected, I believe the "match velocity" button will match the Sun's velocity. 13:10 The autopilot does have its foibles, but it very useful for getting places. The main trick with getting somewhere with Newtonian space flight is that you have to spend the same amount of time decelerating as you spent accelerating, and the autopilot can pick that switch-over moment pretty reliably. 14:25 Hah, I've never seen that from this perspective before. 15:58 "Ok, how do we detect Ghost Matter again? I don't recall." - since you already learned this, and have just forgotten: you can see Ghost Matter with a camera, like the one on your scout. 18:00 "Ok, there's four [pages] here, I'm glad I noticed that. I hope I didn't miss any on previous recordings" - I'm pretty sure this is the first time you've encountered multi-page writing in one of these spinning devices, as opposed to the curved writing on walls etc. Also, as you saw at the start of this episode, the ship log has its orange asterisk and "there's more to explore here" if you're missing any important log entries, so if you do ever miss anything in your playthrough the log will help guide you back there to fill in the gaps. 25:26 "That was awful" - when the foley guy does their job too well 😬 31:55 Interestingly, I think this is the same place you ended up at 24:36 running along the surface of the sand in the mostly-filled tunnels, but you didn't know to go behind the falling sand column against the wall. 35:31 "Oh no!" looks directly at live trees a few steps away "where's oxygen?" 53:36 Just one more loop! 56:54 "... part of my video-gamer brain wants to go 'Oh, they're telling me *not* to go there? Surely there's something there!'" - this game is actually pretty honest about that. The developers talk about the trend in games to force the player to "mow the grass", i.e. search behind every bush and break every pot in order to get the good stuff. They didn't want this game to be like that, so e.g. the areas of planets without anything to find are fairly plain and uninteresting-looking, rather than covered with random foliage or clutter which might tempt you to try searching it exhaustively only to find nothing. 1:01:28 HUD marking for Scout pointing desperately upwards. 1:05:58 Shortcut unlocked! 1:10:17 Just one more loop! 1:11:08 "Why am I not able to lock on here?" - oh, damn, that bug bites again. It happens if you're using a controller and you alt-tab out of the game. The fixes are to either click in the game with the mouse, or as you discovered, unplug and re-plug your controller. 1:14:54 I mean, you didn't really need to go underground to get to the giant gravity cannon on the surface 😆 1:18:58 Don't forget that your signalscope has a zoom function, which is useful for both getting a closer look at something in the distance, and directing the audience's attention to something you want to highlight. 1:21:04 "I recalled a Nomai shuttle from the Interloper... don't know how I would know that." - the ring near the gravity cannon said "shuttle is on the comet", and Clary's recording also talks about investigating the comet.

    • @Raddy2Framez
      @Raddy2Framez 4 місяці тому

      Thank you for reminding me about ghost matter! I didn't realize you would have to spend the same amount of time decelerating as accelerating in space, but that makes sense. The sound design in Outer Wilds has been fantastic, even in those terrible moments 🙃 Good to know about the game designers not wanting to waste the players' time. Thank you for your insights and thanks for watching!!

      @@Raddy2Framez Health Bar The silhouette in the top left is your health bar, when it's fully red, you're dead. You can replinish your health by using a med pack in the ship, or eating a perfectly cooked marshmallow. Jet Pack In the pre-flight checklist settings, you can change the jet pack to auto boost anytime you press R2 rather than pressing X. The jetpack boost meter is to the right of your fuel meter. When it hits 0%, you can no longer boost. The meter replenishes rapidly when you are standing on solid ground. Signalscope White signals are on the same planet as you, red signals are on distant planets. Lock On Locking on to an object will display information about your relative velocity. @@Raddy2Framez Also, about trees and oxygen, if you look on the left side of your cockpit there's a funny little poster that tells you about them. It's easy to miss but there are a few tips like this on the walls of your ship.

    • @rob-rendell
      @rob-rendell 4 місяці тому

      I personally find the auto-boost setting to be problematic, because you only have a limited amount of boost when thrusting upwards, so I like to control when it's used. Also, on small bodies like the Attlerock, it tends to yeet you into space. YMMV The ship's auto-pilot not avoiding other obstacles is what I alluded to when I said it "has its foibles" 😁 Slate actually says in one of the early conversations you can have with them (which I think is unavailable in your game now you're a few loops in) that for the next ship they build, they're working on adding auto-pilot obstacle avoidance. They then add "Uh, sorry." That's as much of a warning as you get that the auto-pilot in your ship doesn't have that, and just blindly heads towards your lock-on target without regards to what might be near you (while it aligns your velocities) or in between you and your destination (while accelerating towards it or firing retro-rockets). The auto-pilot is still very useful once you learn to work with its limitations, though.

  • @ShmuPixel

    I like the way you explore the star system. It's a good mix between rushing at whatever's the closest and actually following clues from people you've spoken to (or read from), which is perfect in early exploration to get a better understanding of how things work. Eventually you may feel a bit lost in the ocean of information you've gathered (especially if you record your episodes weeks apart from each other), but remember that the ship log keeps track of everything you've done and you'll be fine! Your ship is your best friend in more ways than one. Anything else is entropy, as you've already experienced in other planets! That feeling of "more questions than answers" will be there for a while too, indeed... Welcome to Outer Wilds! ::)

    Ladies and gentlemen of the Outer Wilds Cult, as usual, we meet again! And also as usual, dear members of the Subnautica community, welcome back! Right off the bat, I have a feeling this playthrough might be quite interesting (straight into the Q****** M***, that's a first as far as I'm concerned!). Raddy, pleasure to meet you, you'll soon notice a bump in views for your channel but don't worry, the Outer Wilds community is very kind and understands the value of not spoiling the game. Stay curious, avoid spoilers like the plague, think outside the box, share your theories, and test them (even if they sound silly),... basically HAVE FUN! You'll love the game for sure, and by the time it's over you'll be a member of the Cult just like us! ::)

      Cheers ShmuPixel! Thank you for the warm welcome! I will do my best to play just as you recommended (I don't think having fun will be hard 😄).

    3:30 As you learned, the "match velocity" button is your friend! Newtonian physics in the frictionless void of space makes it tricky to fly entirely manually. 4:50 Don't worry, everyone does that at least once! 😆 10:49 "Ah, excuse me? We don't have too much power with our booster here, it seems" - Giant planet = high gravity. You can see it says the gravity on Giant's Deep is ~ 2 times "normal" in the bottom left of your HUD. It is possible in general to coordinate jumping with boosting to get higher/further, but on Giant's Deep that still can't get you very far. 46:30 Welcome to Dark Bramble! 🐟 It's really quite a genius structure for a game... the time loop gives the devs the freedom to set things in motion and let the chips fall where they may, even if it results in totally unfair deaths for the player, because you'll just reset and wake up under the stars again, and once you get comfortable with flying and learn how to get somewhere once, it's usually pretty quick to get back there again. Your ship log is also your friend, BTW, and you'll want to read it completely to put what you've seen and done in context, and to remind yourself what you've learned. Don't be self-conscious about reading lots of text being too slow-paced... it's part of the game, and your thoughts as you read will always be of interest.

      Outer Wilds is a very fun concept! I'm liking the rogue-like mechanics (as well as all other elements) of this game quite a bit.

    You might be interested in talking to the 2-1 blacksmith. And by talking, I specifically mean use the Talk option. In a definitely not related observation, sometimes certain things won't happen until you've completely exhausted an NPC's dialogue, exited from the interaction completely with them, and then interact with them again. For the flying rays, they're just eager to greet new visitors, that's all. But if you would really like them to stop showering you with so much attention, there's a specific item you could have found already in a different area. I don't know how much of a hint you'd want for this sort of a thing, so I'll just give the item name: Thief's Ring. For the mysterious voice asking for sparklies, it's completely optional, but if you want to try interacting with them, just drop an item you think they might like by their tree. You'll need to reload the area and go back to the tree to see if they liked what you dropped. The Adjudicator's Shield is very useful, but I'd really encourage you to check out the detailed stats a little closer for it and your heater shield. Not all shields block all damage types equally well, and upgrading a shield only helps reduce the amount of stamina you lose when blocking an attack. If a shield doesn't fully block all physical damage, for example, upgrading it won't change that. For weapons or shields with passive properties (like the Adjudicator Shield's health regen), those properties will still be in effect as long as you have it showing on your person. For example, if you have the shield out while one-handing a weapon, then switch to two-handing the weapon, you'll put the shield on your back but still get the health regen benefits. Oh, and given your comments when fighting the Vanguard mini-boss, you might appreciate this quote from one of the more recent Fromsoft games, Sekiro: "A shinobi would know the difference between honor and victory."

      Ah okay! I do recall seeing my health tick down (I think) while blocking with Adjudicator Shield. I'll likely go back to heater shield since we also have a regen ring. Thanks for the heads up with the blacksmiths. I would've never come around to that. I'm not sure I'll bother with sparklies... Not knowing much about it, I don't think I want to risk losing an item for what might be no reward. Unless consumables are what I should drop... Oh and I'll be playing Sekiro eventually...😅At this rate it may be a while though.

    Always nice to see someone check out the village thoroughly and read everything before launching into space. That attitude will serve you well as you explore this solar system! 53:09 What an unfortunate thing to randomly pick to land on first. That must have been really confusing 😆

      Thank you! I imagine the way I explore could be tedious for most people... but I can't help it. 😅 I wonder if that was the water planet? When I turned around it was gone so fast..

      Well, being curious, thorough and thoughtful is exactly the way that Outer Wilds should be approached, so if that's your style, you will love it. And regarding the disappearing planet, you will understand eventually, never fear. This game presents so many mysteries, but they will all be explained in a super satisfying way as you progress. I envy you your upcoming voyage of discovery, because you can only ever experience it once, and I've already completed the game ☺

      BTW, I don't want to back-seat play your game, but you missed some text to translate at 1:07:33. I just thought I'd mention it so that if/when you return to that place, you don't assume you've already read it all.

      @@rob-rendell Oh, I will go back to translate that bit of text. Thank you! I am excited for this game. Outer Wilds has been on my to-play list for years.

    I'm not sure how many videos you already recorded, but if you get stuck make sure not to Google anything, as this game is very vulnerable to spoilers. If you need a subtle hint, the people over at "The Interloper" server on discord will be happy to help.
