🤔 🎼 Nice knife, but smooth handles makes for a terrible handling. Replace or modify the handle. What is the steel & is it made in America?
Canadian Lynx? Looks like t-rip and stick are gonna have to add some new props to their demonstration videos.
@@marksaint2936 lol that would be interesting.
A LYNX? LOL. They are of ZERO danger to human beings. WTF?

Here is a few videos to educate you. Canadian Lynx can absolutely kill a human and quickly. They kill a deer easily and quickly.
no issues! this knife is just perfect! hauuu!
@lovelykillerx I agree completely. If my house was on fire and I could only grab a few knives this would definitely be making the list!
This is a very well thought out design, however, based on it’s design layout it is definitely intended (or at least favored, but not limited) to be used in a “pikal” or reverse-grip manner. Great price!
@@DookeyRidr I tend to agree with your entire statement. Thank you for the comment!
This is a nice piece, but it isn’t built to take any degree of punishment or pommeling.
I think the pommel on the KA-BAR style knife is not really made for using as a hammer or to hammer on, but in my opinion it’s designed to help you pull the knife out of whatever you stuck it into and to keep it in your hand. I may be wrong but I believe that either version is not meant to hammer tent stakes etc. It would work to pommel someone though without any damage.
It will probably not cause issues-but I do not like the itty bitty screw and think, if the pommel itself fits tight over the tang, a screw from they side, through pommel and tang would be sturdier. Or they could have put 2 screws, one on each side of the tang " tongue" extension, but at least the knife will not fall apart if the pommel goes....
@ the screw is a bit bigger than it appears on video but I hear you. There is always a better way to do something. I was thinking about how I would do it if I designed it. And my thoughts were this. Why not design it similar or exactly like the finger guard by the blade? Flare out the full tang and use half the circle on either side with the tang running slightly beyond the pommel for hammering etc.
Full tang + 3V steel + Ka-Bar Fighting Knife Design = Me buying!
Very close to being a perfect self defense blade. Me likey.
Love it
@@Darkhorse-k2p thank you!
Good video . Nice knife 🇳🇿
@@david6920-r6z thank you very much!
Anyone count how many times the words Canadian Lynx are spoken in this video?
6 times 😄
Oh boy.. ua-cam.com/users/shortsYIOsB8JGMXw?si=y_ZtwbUDq7F_1WqW
@@Chantalicious74 I bought this knife as a self defense weapon and I am well aware of its positive and negative traits. I would never do the types of things with this knife that you shared in that short video. For me this knife would be used for self defense only and not buschcraft or purposely bent with a hard blow. That is not the intended use of this knife. However if you want a tough knife and steel Carothers 3V Delta of the Basic field knife would be a good knife and steel to hold up to extreme use. And if this is a standard test for knives many others would fall victim too and I won’t name any but I’m sure you know. A lot of knives people think are amazing have a weakness where the tang and blade meet. I love a full tang knife over an over molded rubber handle. However the SRK does have its place.
Love it 🇳🇿
@@david6920-r6z thank you!
Enjoyed this one brother
@@choirboyzcutleryoutdoors thank you so much my blade brother! This is a new channel and hoping it does half as good as yours! I love knives and I really loved your Hinderer KA-BAR video. I did a Hinder KA-BAR review too. Love that knife!
what's with the horrible colors that benchmade is using?...just my opinion!
@@christopher_martin can you elaborate about Benchmade colors?
@@CloseUpKnifeReviews not really i just think all the new colors i have seen them come out with in the past year are kinda ugly
@@christopher_martin colors of what? The handles, blades? Please explain. I’m thinking about the Benchmade Mountian skinner. That knife looks great with the orange sheath and the orange G10 and I like the spine and the gimping.
Agreed. I think if there is a perfect jack of all knife out there, this might be it. Could be edc, hold up to survival in a pinch, food prep. With the added ferro rod, get out of here. It's fantastic.
@@gregcolin9488 thank you for the great comment, much appreciated!
Man I want one so bad this'll definitely be my most irresponsible purchase if they ever rerelease it
@@bigboss4993 I found mine on EBay and they do release them still to retailers. The retail store on EBay I got mine from was Northwest Knives in Idaho. They said they have only received two in two years though.there is one on eBay now $745 plus $11 shipping. I paid $575 plus shipping on mine.
Excellent knife.
@@ellianafansuport3251 I agree. Thank you for the comment.

@@CloseUpKnifeReviews yes! hauuu!
All this about not useing the knife...i use all my kni es even my two Randall's...knives are meant to be used
@@chrisborona5063 as I stated in the video it’s your money and your knife use it how you wish. For me this is a collector’s piece but for you it may be a combat or bushcrafter. Feel free to use it. I know there are many ppl who have tested this and it does hold up from what I have seen.
@CloseUpKnifeReviews thanks
NOPE The best Ka-Bar ever is the one I was issued upon becoming a US Marine in 1973. Made by the Ka-Bar Company originally Union Cutlery. There are many copies but only one REAL Ka-Bar. Remember that. .
Watched a documentary on YT about the company K-BAR. It was very interesting and informative. Great company making a great product
Absolutely Beatiful
Blade sure does look a lot like the Buck 120 General.
I dont like the finger choile.
Can you try striking the rod please ? I seen a video where it wouldn’t and I really want to purchase but I feel like that would be a deal breaker if it is suppose to be a bushcraft knife. TIA
@@JOSE20805 you can buy a separate rod striker if the knife won’t strike it. I personally don’t use a rod on a knife spine.
I got one and I am extremely happy with it.
@@EZDuzIt1979 hard to find any dislikes for me too! Thx for the comment.
@CloseUpKnifeReviews it's a badass knife, honed and stropped mine and it cuts chops and slices through shit with ease.
@@EZDuzIt1979 I haven’t sharpened mine yet. But that’s good to hear. Thanks
It's probably a nice knife, but it has 3 inherent problems. (1) It's assembly is hinged on Allen screws, a built-in weakness. It's also possible one or most will work loose from regular use, especially in a survival or combat situation - blue or red loctite would be recommended; (2) it's sold with a very nice leather sheath, but a properly fit kydex sheath would be better; the price is insane. As one reviewer stated, such a price should mean the knife as all the bells & whistles. A leather AND kydex sheath should be standard issue & those allen screw should already have blue locate applied. It's way, way over-priced as it is.
@@kennbarrett9665 in my opinion the price is fair in the market of 3V knives. The sheath is Amish and super nice, I do love good kydex however. But this knife is probably not something someone is going to use a lot because it’s so nice. More of a collectors piece. I was thinking of examining the pommel to see how it’s held on and to check for lock tight. Thank you for your thoughts. I appreciate your comment. Thanks!
Ron Smith SEI does a great over engineered MK2
@@minimini4276 I have never heard about this. Do you have any more information to share on this? Perhaps a link?
It should be the best for the friggin price.
@@Pmedic605 it’s not a cheep knife for sure. Sometimes however things are worth the price. Lots of expensive knives and makers out there but making high quality blades is awesome.
Excellent knife, I have one with the dark earth color handle. This is definitely one of my shtf knives. 🙏🗡💥
@@rnkmode1876 I agree when I need to grab a few knives and go this is one I’m not leaving behind.

@@david6920-r6z thank you brother!! Much appreciated!!!
I think HRC is 60hrc.
@@majesticbonsai6464 thank you for that info!
I still can't get over this almost rectangular cross section of the handle, i think it's not comfortable when using it for a longer period of time. If it had something similar to mora kansbol, well...
@@dominikwdowski3855 to each his own. Everyone has different hands and skin etc. For me is comfortable but thank you for your input.
It looks even better in that green. Where did you get it?
@@Micsupersonic bladehq I believe.
That's not a big knife, and not very thick. Who are you trying to convince? The bear?
@@johnmutton799 it is a huge knife and the steel is VERY think. The bear would not need convincing
Very nice ,only thing I do not like is the pommel construction..seems it is only held by that Allen screw ..tang should have gone through the pommel, like on the original and have a srew from the side through it instead of the pin of the originals .
I may examine that in another video.
The real one is a chinsy rat tail tang that breaks
They should have done a proper pommel for this kinda price. TRC and even Condor make knives where the tang swells into the pommel in the rear.
I want a grind that is at least 3-1/2 times as wide (both sides) as the blade is thick. If not, grind the shoulders back a bit. Generally, I feel that a scandi-grind is best on thin blades--1/16- to 3/32-inch thick. 1/8 inch for Leuku-style chopping tools. I like the sheath, too. Overall, nice setup! Scout carry--try paracord for attaching to belt? Use a double-X across the sheath. Personally, I favor a dropped point or clip point over the straight-back, but that is easy to fix.
I would like it better if the handle didn't have all those holes
@@woofman4796 it would be interesting to see it without the holes as an option. However the balance would be off.
@CloseUpKnifeReviews I'm almost 60, my balance is becoming an issue as well 😆
@ I anticipate I will know that feeling at some point also in my lifespan 😄
Kind of looks like a spin off of a Chris Reeve model.
@@robertanderson1272 I have heard that said before.
