    Hi, by any chance do you know if the carburetor held up well? If not, what part gave out?

    • @ozarksethic
      @ozarksethic 5 місяців тому

      It's still working fine. I run the generator under load every few months and no problems so far. The two best things I've found for the fuel system on small engines is NO ETHANOL FUEL and drain/run the carburetor dry before storing. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    That column isn’t so Bigg. How much weight are planning on using it 2 support??

    • @ozarksethic
      @ozarksethic 6 місяців тому

      It actually supports the second floor of the house. There is another video in the series where we're welding in the i-beams. I was dubious but the engineers said it would be sufficient. Since it's in compression and the other end of the beams are attached to concrete columns I wasn't too concerned. Plus, the base is about 30 inches below the finished first floor so it's backfilled and compacted with the first floor slab poured around it and the column was filled with rebar and concrete when we poured the second floor.

    Working on my Long 2360 today replaced the fuel filters and pumped up the first filter but when I was trying to pump fuel into the top filter the hand pump went slack and wouldn't pump anything up to it.. Do I have a bad hand fuel pump?

    • @ozarksethic
      @ozarksethic 6 місяців тому

      It sounds like it. I had to replace mine due to the same thing. The diaphragm goes bad. They're pretty cheap on Amazon or one of the tractor parts places that sell Long parts. Make sure to get a supply of crush washers. The banjo fittings almost always leak if you don't replace the washers. I have used a flat surface and sandpaper to flatten old ones again to get going when I didn't have new ones but that usually isn't a permanent fix. Thanks for watching!

      I know, I know...LOL! It's just irritating when there are mixed fasteners on stuff. My first instinct when working on "American" stuff is to grab standard tools. I bought and constructed the 10x10 size and when it came to screwing in the anchors, I could not get them to drill into the hard, clay ground here in TN more than 3 or 4 inches. So, I got the idea to use rebar, and I bought four 3/8 x 48 inch rebar and bent a hook with about 12 inches at one end and pounded them into the ground over the corner legs. It's only been up for about a week, so time will tell. But just looking at it, I'm pretty hopeful that it will stay anchored.

    • @ozarksethic
      @ozarksethic 6 місяців тому

      I did the same thing with one of ours plus the sandbags. So far it has stayed put. Ours are all showing their age since I got them for "temporary" storage and haven't been treating them with UV protection. Unfortunately, our house build has taken WAY longer than anticipated so the temporary has been 2 years... Other than weather damage they have held up pretty well.
