@PiotrBarcz Nice! So you have very long and nimble fingers. When I watch you play from your new viewpoint of looking down at the piano, I can and do, really watch your hands. I've done the same with R. Belt... I wasn't "blessed" with long fingers lol. So here's my question. You do a lot of tenths and you've started doing a lot more scales. That's all awesome..... but, (and maybe I've just missed them), I'm wondering if you ever play a little more barrel house/ragtime kind of in the realm of a Johnny Maddox, Joe Fingers Car, Del Wood type playing? Nothing emphasizing tenths, but rather striking those keys with a little more power? Did that make sense? Not interested in another rendition of Maple Leaf.... that gets played way too much. But other songs? When you were doing your live streaming recently, it was enjoyable to see you not so edited and more relaxed. I liked that! 👍

@@SevenPlus65 I can do some of the rougher stuff, I just never quite liked it as much because it's kind of tiring to play (it's LOUD xD) but I can probably make some recordings of stuff like that. The Aeolian, as it stands right now, is perfect for it!

@@SevenPlus65 I'll definitely give it a shot at some point ;) I've been playing at a golf club in Westport over the last month or so and I put my 1925 Sohmer grand in there, it sounds like a Steinway and it plays like one too :D

Indeed, however what must be considered is that Distant Horizons is mutlithreaded but the vanilla chunk loading isn't which can cause lag and make big holes between the LODs and vanilla chunks because of overdraw protection! So if you're doing a lot of flying around, keep it in there ;)

Make sure you are using the correct versions of Distant Horizons and Iris. Otherwise the chunks will simply not come up. You also are probably using Bliss and the wrong version of it. You need to go to the Iris Discord and visit the "#dh-shader-testing" forum, go to the Bliss thread and check the pinned messages for the link. If you get all the exact same mods I have here and shaders then it'll work.

84 C is normal operating temperature for components under high stress, let it run hot. As long as temps don't go too far over 90 you're fine. Also yeah, chunks take forever to load, crank the CPU load and make sure you have Noisium at least installed. Don't use a render distance over 16 for vanilla chunks either.

Isn't available for 1.20.6 yet and might never be. You don't really need it but it can help sometimes.

Go to the Adoptium website and download the installer for: JDK 17 LTS x64 (if you're using Windows 8 or later) Windows MSI installer Once you install Java, go to Prism launcher settings and use the "Auto-Detect" button to locate the Java 17 installation and select it. Run the game.

Yeah for me it drives me crazy, I'm a musician and Minecraft music is about as annoying as it gets for my ears xD

It will, just very very very very slowly. And no shaders don't work on forge really, Oculus is a pain to use, hopefully the NeoForge port of Iris will be better and also support DH.

Yeah, and not to mention it's a waste of time trying to load that much terrain when 312 looks the same from ground level xD 128 is generally the best value for the performance to time loading chunks ratio.

@@laurensvanderdrift3412 Yeah though Bobby does nothing more than extend your render distance slider in a single player world. So the chunks that are rendered are rendered in full detail and will eventually just crash your game from lag.

Forge works with shaders but NOT with Distant Horizons and shaders unless you use the extremely unreliable Oculus port which has been causing the Iris team issues since day one.

@@PiotrBarcz reporting here that it does work on oculus and has had 0 issues with the multiple shaders ive applied

@@PiotrBarcz I use oculus and embedium with DH/ shaders together and it runs just as well as it does on fabric

@@Indy2109 You got lucky then, people have been having serious issues with Oculus and then go bomb the Iris Project discord with bug reports when Forgelabs is responsible for that mess.

Yes I do actually! 1. Bewildered 2. Moonshine Over Kentucky 3. Stolen Heaven All the tunes repeat, Stolen Heaven is one of the best in this roll I'd say, the tension and release that Milne managed to impart is just wonderful!

Yup, both are available on the iris discord, photon in particular is very interesting though Bliss lends itself the best as the fog hides a LOT of imperfections.

Yeah but believe me, it's not fun to play when there is only one level of dynamics: LOUD I need to hang new hammers, at least it's mostly in tune and holds a tuning well.

​@PiotrBarcz Loud is OK. It's so much better than some of those new pianos that sounds mutted or muffled. Unappealing. Your piano has volume and class to match.

@@SevenPlus65 A new piano is only as good as the guy who voiced it, I've never played a piano better than the two brand spanking new Yamaha C2s that I played in Poland during two concerts. They were the easiest, funnest, most dynamic grands I've certainly ever heard. At least the Aeolian doesn't have a cracked pinblock and a bad soundboard, then I'd really be screwed, but mark my words, I'm bringing it back around to like new from the factory when it was built! :D

I recommend just trying to play along with the recording as best you can and listening to it on repeat obsessively xD I still haven't learned this one but I know it like the back of my hand because I've listened to it so many times, just gotta apply it!

@@PiotrBarcz Ah so you will transcribe such parts accordingly? I did wonder what you would do when a piece transposes. I just get briefly confused when I just see you playing the piece n the white notes as I'm always used to playing the piece as written.

@@dylan-kerry Yeah in this case G is a similar enough key to C where I can play this rag pretty much as written without totally fumbling around. The trio is the easiest part because it's all in C.

I mean, it sounds good, but boy oh boy the piano isn't very pleasant to play the way it is right now. It's just tinny, I like a full tone, your piano is a perfect example, it has depth. The Aeolian has hammers sounding like they're worn down to the wood and the tone is pretty shallow (dead bass doesn't help.

Never heard of it, probably should check it out though.
