How To Milk A Goat | Small Farm | Nubian Dairy Goats | Family Milk Goat
When I first got goats, I had to learn everything on my own and by asking TONS of questions. When I started milking two Nigerian Dwarfs, it was mostly learning through trial and error, building my strength, figuring out which techniques worked and which did not. I hope that this video helps you as you figure out how to milk your goat! Or, if you're watching for fun...I hope you learn something along the way!!!

NEVER would I endanger my animals by leaving them without the basic things like feed and water. Despite 'running out of hay' the animals did not go hungry. They just got fancy meals instead!!! Around here...it's hard to hide the mess. It's impossible to hide the chaos. And even more challenging to hide the manure!!!! This is real, small farm life in northern British Columbia. July 16, 2024 A day from my life... It felt challenging to accurately share what a normal day might look like for me. Sometimes there's no 'story', just life on the farm. The animals are just enjoying their days because they have food, water, shelter, and friends. When all is quiet on the farm, then all the animals are content. So much of farm life is routine, the feeding, filling water troughs, checking mineral, milking goats, and checking the general health of the animals. "Extra" tasks include pen clean out...

However, they do not breed responsibly. Meaning that many of them are leaving the buck with the does YEAR ...

Right now I am only getting around 3L per day. More or less depending on the weather, and how much they are eating. The heat wave really caused a dip in production unfortunately. Hoping to keep them milking for another couple months! When they are more in the early part of their lactation, they produce a LOT more. Next kidding season I am going to have a TON of milk 🤣

Nest time you need to give powder pain medicine. Get a medium size syringe and mix the powder with apple sauce a little water. Then suck it into the syringe and squirt it in the horses mouth. Horses love apple sauce:).

I am so enjoying your videos. Loved seeing the bible verse on the side of the fridge. You are doing such a good job. Comparison is the thief of joy. I know it's hard, but try not to be too hard on yourself. Nourishing your body is very important, you are so right. Let God nourish your soul. He will carry your family when it feels too hard for you. I love your videos and would like to thank you for taking the time to produce these videos for us. I am sure it is a lot of extra work. Your home should always be what works for you. Fancy decorating is not that important. Those things are often for someone else anyway right? Be sure to love yourself and know that the Father holds you in his hands. Thanks again!

I'd rather invest in other things that home decor (in this season of my life!!!!). But I also admire others with the gift of creativity and making home beautiful! Little Lady is old enough now to have the farrier come out and take the edge off those hooves on the outside, and turn those feet in and force her to stretch those ligaments that are pulling those legs out, and at the same time allow the other side to shorten and hold her legs straight in a few weeks. Have him show you how much to take off if he will, then you can just keep touching her up every couple of weeks so the angle will stay constant as she grows. She is so darn cute though. I got to see something pretty darn cute this weekend. Although I don't condone the practice, I saw the cutest little paint zorse on a call I went with the vet too.

You are absolutely right! Not every day is as busy as the others, but then there are some days that are very busy haha! Love the leftovers!!!! We use a lot of fresh goat's milk! Lattes, chocolate milk, 'creamer' for iced coffee, in baking etc. But when there is an abundance I try to make cheese, and lately have started making soap too! It's in the testing stages, but I'm excited to offer it for sale in the future! As an extra way to try and support our family and small farm, I have also created a Patreon account where viewers can pay for a membership to enjoy more frequent updates, and news that doesn't necessarily get shared to UA-cam until later. 😊 Thank you! I know you are in Canada, I was wondering if you are anywhere near London ON. There is a farmer there that looks to have abundant straw this year and they have leftovers from last year. Did you ask your vet about Naproxen/Aleve for Sugar? An anti-inflammatory would probably help. Spirit was on it and it made a vast difference for him. Peppermint oil is soothing as well, I put it on the frog. I have also used Tiger Balm (red type) on hooves and joint strains both and it also helped. I like to use colloidal silver when I get sick or need to heal some muscle strain or other likewise injuries. People scoff at it, but it works.

The white one reminds me of Clarice from Rudolph the red nosed reindeer movie. They are both adorable.

Oh, what a wonderful and relaxing ride! Going through the forest and then to have you quote Scripture is very relaxing. Great for my soul. 🙏❤🙏 Hope the other animals are doing well.

Beautiful horse! Thank you for taking us along with you on the ride. When I was young we had horses on our farm and rode almost every day, brings back wonderful memories, nothing better than a horseback ride through God’s beautiful creation! Nothing better than God’s Word, I appreciate listening as we rode the trail! God bless you and your family and keep you safe!❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸

What a beautiful ride. Thank you for sharing this momentous occasion with us all. Incredible views for sure! What a blessing to be able to experience God’s creation from the back of one of his most wonderful creatures. Thank you for reading scripture to us too. You are a blessing Amanda.

🥰 I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I ALMOST didn't keep the Bible verses in it, ( I felt pretty certain I should...) and I hoped that there would be a few that would be blessed by it!
