    Glad I watched your video,I have noticed today one eyebolt was opened a bit in my 2006 Jayco , Jay series pu,the cable was a little loose so I tighten it a bit,wondering what caused the eye bolt to open in the first place,hope its not a warning that the cable is going to snap!Very informative vid

    I need to adjust the door side up 25 mm. When the green cables are tight I still cannot push the door so it locks into place. Do you have any ideas on adjusting one side cables only.

    • @GerardHand
      @GerardHand 8 місяців тому

      First, check if the cables are twisted, that will limit its travel.

    How do I stop the cable from catching in between the pulley & the metal bracket?

    • @GerardHand
      @GerardHand 8 місяців тому

      Just ensure the cables are under a little load. So when you pack away and clips on you, wind a little up to keep tension on. Cables can come off pullys when the cable is left slack and travelling down the road.

    Question for you. I haven’t had my Jawa for all that long and already thinking hard of giving the stock agm’s the flick and going to lithium. Does the 200A supply enough juice for you. I don’t run anything over the top but am thinking of maybe putting in a couple of 120A batteries. I’m planning on taking long service leave and going away for 3-4 months. Just wondering what you think of my battery choice. Enjoying your videos, a no BS approach.

    • @GerardHand
      @GerardHand 9 місяців тому

      It's totally up to you to make the lithium change. You will probably get next to nothing for used AGM'S, just the 2 of us, and we find 200ah enough for us. We don't do coffee machines or any of that sort of thing, gas kettle, and all that sort of stuff. I have never used my inverter, so you get the picture. The only thing I would suggest is that lithium is a known brand and a 5 year warranty.

    • @davidanderson9043

    When we bought our Jayco Eagle through a private sale, we were told by the seller that we had to walk around as we were winding up to make sure all of the lower sleeves were pulled all the way down and to never let them go up till the inner/upper sleeves had maxed out 🤦‍♂️ Only when I had a tube pop out and I researched did I find the complete opposite is true.

    • @ciandurbidge9356

      Hi. We have just purchased a 2004 Eagle and got the same advice. As we were setting up the first time we forgot to pull the big post down and one of them came out! I'm guessing the issue was that the small one didn't extend and instead pulled forced the big one out? I see you are now of the opinion that the large post should be pulled up rather than down. I'm so confused about what is right now?

  • @teeanahera8949

    Hopefully those eye bolts will snap or just open up before a cable breaks. I’ve snapped two eyebolts and replaced 3 others over the years when the eyes opened up. Always keep a spare set of eye bolts. Note: you will have to open the eyes a little otherwise the looped cable end won’t be able to be attached.

  • @timelessnewbornphotography4093

    Damn helpful! Thanks, if 3 of the cables are wound over each other that would cause issue too wouldn't it? I purchased a used Coromal (similar lift system) and looks like a cables been replaced but other 3 are bound over each other. I've already had to fix main cable as it was stuck on the outside of the winch 🤦 It goes up n down now but it's a tough wind up. There's not enough info around for these lift systems, thanks for posting! Would you suggest inox or grease to lubricate pulleys and winch?

    • @GerardHand
      @GerardHand Рік тому

      Inox will be fine. Main cable off the winch is because of too much slack after winding down. Also pays on pack up after latches go on give a tiny turn on the handle to take up any slack so the cable is not flopping around.

    • @timelessnewbornphotography4093
      @timelessnewbornphotography4093 Рік тому

      Check bearings from the time you receive second hand and every 10,000 km or once a year. You can do a cursory check by jacking up the wheel and shaking it by hand top and bottom left and right checking for any play.
