Still can't match price/performance of british army 65%wool 35%nylon socks 🤷♂️
Fair enough, I get mine from the Rab outlet in Derbyshire. So you can get a pair £5-£8 depending on style. I do agree full price are alot for one pair 😅 Thank you for watching
Which model is it? T100 or T500?
It is the T100 but I have just seen they have put them up to £60! But still a good jacket. Thank you for watching 👍
great video and review!! I'm going to buy one thanks to your review!
5.9 height size??
I am 6ft thank you for watching
GO BACK IT GOOD CANTEN AND FACTS ABOUT HIGHKING
Hi
Where do you work
Will it be ok in wet climate if you wear a shell over it?
Yes it would but the only problem would be if you start to sweat then the down would get wet. But if you can manage your body heat it will do a good job with a hard shell.
@@AnotherDayAnotherWalk Awesomee Thank you so much for the reply!
@patrickbedruz6475 they do polyester versions. Mine should arrive tomorrow, I'll let you know what I think. Bought it for future winter camps as a warming layer for when you stop to camp, opted for synthetic rather than down as it retains warmth when wet.
@@feldgraufox4927 I didnt know they did a polyester version! i ended up getting the mt500 down. I have polyester one from patagonia and it wasnt keeping me warm enough
hey
hey
hey
Everyone thinks Hilleberg tents are expensive... but... they can be sold for a higher price later, while other tents - no one wants a cheap tent or you've already broken two of them. Buy cheap then you will buy twice or more
Will it work properly if i put motorcycle riding gear over it? Any idea?
It should do as it is your body warm that the feathers use to lock in your warmth. But just make sure the clothing over the top is not too tight as then they will not be able to fluff up and stay warm. The jacket has gone up in price btw I think it is now £50/£55. Hope that helps 😊
@@AnotherDayAnotherWalk noted. Thank you
You wait until you take each of these tents out Day after day Put up Take down Heavy rain High winds…… You’ll soon find out Horses for courses of course but …….. if you are using each of these tents a lot, in all sorts of climates. It would be clear why the Allak costs what it costs
One is made by child labour the other by adults
Water drips down from the hood into the vestibule ... That's enough for me!!
Hello
love your channel 😀
Thank you 😁
@@AnotherDayAnotherWalk can you do a video Glasgow walks 2024 but say my name in the video thanks
Thank for the video, i live in Indonesia, and we call Trig Point with Tugu Triangulasi in Indonesia, made by The Hollanders around 1850-1930, and right now i have a reaserch about the history of Triangulation in Indonesia..thank you..
Wow that's interesting I did not know they had them in other countries. I will have to start bagging a few of them 😊 Thanks for watching Rob 👍
@@AnotherDayAnotherWalk we have here hundred tousands of Triangulation Pilar, divided into 4 main type, Premerie Pilar, Sekundarie Pilaar, Tertierie Pilaar, and Quartiar Pilaar, but also there's many of other types..
Just purchased one of these. Do you find the inner mouth covering way too big when you the cords pulled tight? I t seems really uncomfortable to me.
Not really, seems to fit well tbh.
What is the song
Love the slo-mo dog shots! What's he called?
She loves water. Her name is Beau
Brilliant video. Great views, despite the weather. I've never seen water going over the dam in the flesh.
It is well worth a trip up there when we have had a look time of rain as it is an amazing site. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 👍 Rob
😊
Cool
Really good review, makjng clear all the differences where others just say "oh, the Naturehike is a copy of the Hilleberg". Think I land in the same place as you, all the differences you highlight are really signs of the superb quality of the Hilleberg, but I just couldn't justify the price premium.
Thank you, yes the hilleberg is an amazing tent but the naturehike can do 90% of what the hilleberg can for a fraction of the cost. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 👍 Rob
I’m pretty sure they are both greatly beneficial.
My dog prefers dirty over clean water as well drives me bananas. Even at home shell leave her filtered water in the bowl until it collects dust and drink the puddle water out back
The only tent reviewer who actually knows a thing or two about real winter tents
Just wondering if you’d still recommend this? Thanks
I am using it today and I got my wife one last month 👍 So yes I would 😅
Are they standard or narrow fit? I've just seen the marine blue pair on Mammut site for £90 reduced from £150.
I would say they are a standard fit 🙂 That sounds like a good deal to me! Thanks for watching 👍
Lean Low is right next to our farm 😂😂 hope you asked my permission 😂 & Parsley hay trig about 1 mile away. Me and my better half finished the 88 last year. Edale Moor being the last. It's an excellent challenge. We have bagged over 600 throughout the country. Excellent explanation of the trigs.
Wow 600 that's good going well done, I still have a few left to get but bagged 5 at the weekend so don't think it will be long until I finish the 88 😁 Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 👍 Rob
I hope they do go through the with the proposed right to roam laws to give more public access to the countryside. I don't see the issue so as long as you're respectful, don't leave any trace, close gates and general commonsense. This has worked in Scotland for years, just don't go trampling across crops etc
Bin the Wife and Buy a Hilleberg , you wont regret it and you can thank me later ...
🤣🤣🤣 I like the idea but think it will cost me a lot more than the price of the hillie in the divorce 😅 Thanks for watching 👍Rob
I've got an oex one, ultralight weight flammable as f*** don't have a fire anywhere near one
I'm looking for something to keep me warm in this cold weather, is this warm enough as it looks thin?
It does offer alot of protection but it is mainly to keep your head dry. If you put a hut on underneath then yes it would be very warm. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching 👍
at the end of the day, youre really paying for wind resistance in the hilleberg, the naturehike will stand up to most things the hilleberg will with the exception of high winds.
Very true, thank you for watching 👍
One Tent and a better Tarp... 👎
Had a 3 season Wild Country Tent flattend in a 80mph forcast storm, got hillebergs ever since then , 8 of them. Price is your main citeria, safety is mine , plus will potentially save money as wont have to repair damage tents or replace tents due to bad weather or UV degredation. Seam sealing and reproofing is also a hassle I can do without.
You pitched a budget tent when you knew hurricane force winds were incoming? Safety doesn't seem to your main criteria from where I'm sitting. 🤔
What is your height and chest size sir ...I want to buy a jacket too
I am 6,1" and 40/42inch chest
Thank you for watching 👍
@@AnotherDayAnotherWalk thanks a lot...I am 5 ,4" should I buy M or L
@fazzaahmed6702 if you are less than a 40inch chest I would go M
@@AnotherDayAnotherWalk yes sir thanks I would go M size...I was going to Buy L but u saved me
Excellent a bit for wiping your nose, I'm gettin a pair.
That bit is perfect tbh 👌 thank you for watching 👍
Excellent Jacket, We don't have many options here in India when it comes to these things, but decathlon has become my go-to place for sports and other identical things.
Decathlon is a good shop, but slowly getting more expensive over here now. Thanks for watching 👍
@@AnotherDayAnotherWalk Good content should be appreciated, i was just doing that, and so far the price is concern as we don't have much options so I don't really have anything to compare it to.
Love your cap...... Link please 😅
I will try and find it and get back to you 👍
Longstone moor which is close by, has also got a damaged trig on it, maybe the local farmer wanted to rip them down, great vlog by the way.
Yh, there are a few about. Because they don't get used anymore if they get damaged they don't get fixed. Thank you for watching 👍
Just been up there this morning pal, lovely walk even with the rain ☔️ thanks again Matt.
It’s $99 in the US
Tbh I think it has gone up a fair bit the last year or so 😪
Great review. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this video, I live in Barnsley south yorkshire and the peak district is on my door step (almost) done the three peaks this year and looking for my next challenge, so this will be it for 2024 😀
It is a really good challenge. Good luck for next year. Might see you at a Trig 😅 Thanks for watching
Hilleberg!!!
Nice review! How is sizing?
I would say they are true to size, but remember if you are doing a lot of down hill you want to go up half a size to take the pressure off your toes 👍 Thank you for watching
Thanks! @@AnotherDayAnotherWalk
Hiking is one of my favorite things to go!
Great chain Rob , would love to know what you wear over your socks , heres why. Since April i bought a pair of waterproof Gillets shoes . I shoukd of taken them back as soles started to come away after a month as the water got in. Next was a pair of waterproof goretex Mirrells ,i took them back to blacks and exchanged for another pair as they leaked water. Took the second pair back snd got s refund. Next was a pair of Adidas Terrex waterproof walking shoes. Again they leaked water in a heavy downpour. Back to Sports directs and this time a pair of waterproof karrimor boots. On a late night dog walk they got so wet in the rain that around 10mil if water poured out of each one . They too will be returned next time in town. Rob , im sure im not the only walker who goes out all weathers , the only boots i have that are waterproof are ex army Mendls and Brashers , both which are heavy. Can anyone recomend s lightweight ,fabric shoe or boot to wear with a budget of £130
I use a mammut, and they have worked for me. Only just started to let me down after about 1000 miles! It could be coming in off your trousers, have you tried gaiters?
