Root Riot Plant Starter Cubes | Happy Hydro Mini Series: A Quick Rip
Thanks for the video, great content! Purchased my first grow tent today, from AC Infinity. Previously I've been growing using shelves and custom made aluminum foil reflective flaps reinforced with duct tape. Managed to grow ton of basil indoor and also 3 tomato plants last year. But this year i pulled the trigger and decided to upgrade my setup as I'm not able to manage heat levels and humidity using shelves and flaps anymore, due having started seeds late this year. Now I got basil and tomato plants with leaves cupping due to very low humidity (<30%). I've purchased the 3x2 version as I've limited space at home, plus the inline fan and Controller 69 bundle, and a cloud ray s6. I think it will be a great setup to start with. Can't wait to receive it!
Oh nice! Send us an email to help@happyhydro.com and Ill make sure your order gets out asap!
Love this but there missing 1 thing and hope there already on it A grow cam but a really good grow cam 4k 60 What doesn't lag on movement of plants The cam view inside there app what hit the nail on the head
That would be clutch!
@@HappyHydro it would I hope there on it !
I’m growing with a peat moss/coco coir/perlite mix. The Fafard root factory RFC8. Can I use gaia green in this type of medium? I’m currently using Lotus Nutrients and I’m not a huge fan of this.
You definitely can! It sounds like your mix has no nutrients at all so you will be more aggressive with your amending routine compared to amending a soil that already has nutrients.
70%30one tablespoon per gallon 50%50% one tablespoon per gallon wit the hell dose this mean please I’m asking
If you have enough soil to where you need 10 tablespoons of nutrients total, use 7 tablespoons of one and 3 tablespoons of the other. Or 5 and 5 for a 50/50 mix.
So is everyone not using the leaf temp offset? On their ac infinity controller?
Its definitely gotta be a mixed bag out there lol
@@HappyHydro Altering it has a big effect on the controllers vpd after mucking about with it a little. So leaving it to standard would mean the vpd I'm trying to set is potentially not that accurate. Given that leaf temperature is pretty impossible to measure throughout it's daily movement. Then you would need to be adjusting the controller constantly. Just interested in others take on it?
I once grabbed a fresh cutting from a rapidophora tetrasperma and took like 4 months to root, didn't like the water prop method but once I used spaghnum moss it took almost immediately.
Whoa really!? I wonder what it was
What are your houseplant success stories?
can you connect a camera to the controller that would be cool cause then you can literally physically monitor your plants when you're not even home, not only see the data
That would be cool! Fingers crossed lol
Heat is not an issue the lights take care of that but where is AC‘s little tiny portable air conditioning unit that pumps right into the tent that would be wonderful… Oh, looks like there’s a terraform seven coming out never mind
$699 Nevermind
You look like the "show me your genitals" dude lol
Bro how the fuck can use the AC controller with that heater/fan? I have one and I can only use the heater option? Very frustrating
I dont know if thats a possibility, you might have to change it on the actual heater and then control it from there, I'll have to do some digging!
@@HappyHydro thank you, as of right now I’m using it separately from the controller so I can use the fan, still having some issues to keep my tent temp down and might need to add another fan, but it’s better then having nothing and having my tent reach over 80 degrees
@@Ace_Squared Are you running an inline fan for your grow?
@@HappyHydro yes I am, it runs every hour right now
@@Ace_Squared What size tent and what size fan do you have?
Now ac infinity surprise me with a dehumidifier I’ll be overly excited. This missing component to system is killing me
Im not for certain but I am pretty sure they are working on an ac unit and a dehumidifier! If you check out the automation tab on your controller 69, you'll see some device types that arent active yet, but I feel like we can determine what they are working on!
I'm using Fox Farms Ocean Forest I'm about 3 weeks in do you think it's time to top dress?
Ocean Forest is pretty packed with nutrients so It might be a little much. How are you plants acting?
@@HappyHydro plant is healthy, I don't see any deficiencies or signs of too much nutrition
@@Justin-jz2mv I would wait until about week 6 to top dress
@@HappyHydro cool thanks for the info man
@@Justin-jz2mv Anytime my dude!
Any advice for someone pulling fresh air from outside?
Definite use a filter so you don’t suck bugs in. If you give me any further info I can try to help more!
Ordering one of these in like 2 weeks. Just wish AC Infinty would make a dehumidifier
Nice! I think I can speculate that one is in the works, if you have a controller 69 it looks like there are different device types and one looks like it could be a dehumidifier along with an air condition unit as well
@@HappyHydro I have a 69 and a 69 pro+. The 69 is on a 2x2 and the pro+ on a 3x3 everything ac infinity but the heaters at the moment. I'm using the vivosun heater and thermostat but I want everything controlled off the controllers
Dragged out longer than my college entrance exam
Thanks for watching!
nice one AC infinity is on top of their game. ty!
Right!
Why would anyone need a heater in a tent. I’m struggling with that one
For me, my veg tent gets way too cold when I'm drying my harvest at 60⁰ and 60% humidity. Last time, they purpled right out and put my next flower run back a couple weeks well they recovered, but that's just me.
Well, for small tent growers who do not have a dedicated grow room, you cannot use the ambient air of the room you have your tent in b/c you'd have to keep the room at 80F and then drop down to the low 70s when lights are off. It's much easier, more accurate and cheaper to control just the temp in the tent.
I gets cold in the winter in Ohio and my old house is hard to heat,so keeping the tent warm especially when the lights out we’ll need it. But now I’m having trouble keeping it cool.
Growing for terps? I found I like my tent air temp 70-72f, root temp 74f to 76f, leaf surface temp 80ish. It can be difficult to achieve, but you do it by cycling cold air into the tent in order to keep air temp in check. You also need to cycle heat to warm the soil, which acts as an insulator from the cold air brought in very quickly to cool the tent. Direct the heat to blow on the pots. HPS lights will keep your leaf surface temp on the high side, which is perfect. I find that growing in cooler temps helps the terps escape less than higher temps. It's important to compensate for that by making roots and leaf temps in the ideal range. It's difficult to set up and dial in, but worth it.
@@SasquatchLovesMeyou don't have to drop the temps for night time same temp for day and night works just as good if not better
This heater has your room feeling like an all inclusive resort to those plants! Anyone have any heater stories?!
I just got mine a coupdays ago. I have an 8x8 in a room in the basement. It wasn't working good until I blocked off the hvac vents and I went from 69 degrees to over 80 degrees easily. That 1500 watt space heater was killing me.
Nice, now they need an ac unit. Shut my indoor down and put my plants outside. But I’ll need that heater this winter. Thanks
@@buckeyebunnyhunter I'm not certain but I believe they are in the works for an ac unit and dehumidifier! If you look at the automation tab on you controller 69 you can see other device types that arent activated yet!
@@HappyHydroThey just announced their AC/Humidifier/heater all in one unit. $699
@@tomoney5184 Yea! You can use my coupon code at happyhydro.com to get yours!
My question is ... for us growers who have $$$ in other growing equipment. Can we connect to this ac infinity pro 69+
There are ways to get some of your other grow tech to connect to the controller. They have an adapter for lights which is cool and will allow them to communicate. Also they have a smart outlet, which will allow you to control whatever is plugged into the smart outlet through the controller. The only downfall is its limited capabilities as in it can only turn the device plugged into the outlet on and off.
Acinfinity falsly advertised compatability that caused property damage they use there customers as Guinne pigs and when something goes wrong they turn there backs on there customers and you protect and supprt there scams
We have sold AC Infinity products to thousands of people and have had little to no issues. All of their products come with a 2-year warranty that they have never given us pushback on. If you purchased something from us email help@happyhydro.com and we will get you squared away!
@HappyHydro and what is that going to do you're still shilling products that cause property damage and when brought up to acinfinity they just block you people should know how acinfinity treats it's customers when somthing goes wrong I'm just here so people know how terrible the people are at acinfinity there thieves and scammers who false advertise then block and hide when they get caught they don't care about there customers just our money
70 30 mix ?
Yes! As an arbitrary example if your soil volume means you need 10 tbsp total you would use 7 tbsp of all purpose and 3 tbsp power bloom.
this information is corroborated by elsewhere and obvious biology. however, you recommended people wear "sunscreen" in the presence of sunlight ostensibly to block UV B rays at the propaganda directive originally of the dermatology and cancer industries. the fact that you do not know that, when it has been plastered all over the internet for two decades, makes you an incompetent fake expert because you are instructing on a complex subject while displaying huge ignorance on a very basic scientific subject. I appreciate your beneficial information but you are effectively also promoting industries of death and maiming for profit indirectly by kicking the "sunscreen" proverbial can down the dumb american road...
Personally, I wear sunscreen when I go outside and it stops my skin from getting sunburned, but you don’t have to!
Also, I’m out here doing my best and your insults won’t slow me down!
Also no need to discrard/waste the solution after 1 calibration. Thats why it includes caps for the vials. You can reuse the 4.0 &7.0 pH calibration solution 10 times and the 10.01 pH solution 5 times before discarding. Conductivity solutions should be discarded after every calibration. Should save everybody a bit of money. This information was taken straight out of the AC Infinity manual.
Thank you for posting this info and helping everyone save some cash!
"M" is not measurement mode. That means the Mid range calibration is completed. "L" is low range and "H" is high range.

I can’t wait till AC infinity makes a environmental monitor with par and real time environment monitoring it’s coming 👊🔥🔥🤘
Apogee instruments is the only option when it comes to par for accuracy
Sold out 😭
I have mostly ACI products and I recognize the tremendous value they bring to small growers but I wish they’d fill the glaring problems with their existing products (69Pro and CO2 meter for starters) before investing in creation of borderline toys like the VPD meter.
What problems did you experience with those products?
I questioned my manhood after putting this tent together... i am pissed
They stopped selling us their tents! I only left this video up to help the community!
AC Infinity is a top notch company. Outstanding products and customer service.
They’ve always been good to us and we love their products. Have you used the VPD thermometer yet?
I use 2x15w 368nm uv bulbs from mid veg to harvest all the time on when my leds are ( In nature sun will not turn off time to time :D ), when i flip to flower i allso drop my temps to 20-23 and try to make it as dry as possible ( Not under 20% thats bad! ) I can promise if you gorw with this combo in good soil ( I use only biobizz lightmix and biobizz juices + ash ) you will get insanely sugary plants and potent af, tricome production goes thru the roof just in the first weeks of flowering.
Thanks for sharing!!
Bro...why are you holding a lav mic??? Clip it to your shirt collar, or even better get some Moleskin tape (walmart, cvs, amazon) and tape it to your chest. As a videographer i just couldn't handle that hahaha
Hahaha thanks for the input. I have been having some audio issues since the space that I shoot in is so echoey so I figured I'd try something to help that. Safe to say I'm not the savviest lol
VPD doesn't stand a chance. If you still need help be sure to check out our VPD video as well!
Acinfinity falsly advertised compatability that caused property damage they use there customers as Guinne pigs and when something goes wrong they turn there backs on there customers don't advertise a product as compatible with 3rd party product if it's not this smart sytems kill grow lights and all acinfinity does is block you for standing up for youre self they block you and tell there comunity youre a fake bot acinfinity is a trully disgusting company shame on any one who supports them
So I'm a little confused on one thing. If I have the 69 pro+ do I also need the Cloudcom B2?
Its not a necessity unless you have a really big grow space that you want to get more accurate readings in different areas.
Lets say I did everything in the video my pen is ready to be used, I decided to use my tap water to feed my plants and the water PH is around 5 in the scenario can I use the PH calibration buffer solution to change the PH level ?
No, you would want to get something that would be more directed to change the pH
www.happyhydro.com/products/gh-ph-up-liquid-quart
I think you know the kind of plants 🌱 we want to grow in that can it handle it
Haha it sure can. We’re going to start a new channel soon where we full-send it with those plants.
@@HappyHydro I’ll be glad because this will be a game changer for real I’m sure to get me a couple of them because I’m very lazy at times
Haha I feel you, the consistent moisture will actually allow you to do less work and improve the health of your root zone and plants
Can you use this with the living soil beds from grass roots?
Yes, you can set individual pots on top of the capillary mat or you can get a big rectangle one that fits the entire system!
Its really cool to have a watering system that I can customize! What do you think?
Setting up AC infinity 6in in a 4x4 tent. Needed thus vid! Thanks

haha that is a very good answer
is this 18 Inches in height???
Yep!
Hey man, Just want to say I own the AC infinity 69 Pro, and have the tent and equipment you talked about. It has been so overwhelming for me to understand how I should go about trying to control the VPD, and your video made everything so much easier. Great work, and thank you for making this. Cheers
I am really glad you found this helpful. Thank you for watching, it means a lot!
I’m going to start some og kush fem in my closet might have to get this for my set up I’m building
Its pretty clutch!
I got a very small growtent 2x2 and just need a little bit of ventialtion. Could you tell me if on the very low speed you can still here the fan since i need to be using it inside my living room near the bed room and how much wattage it uses on the low setting. Thanks in advance
There’s definitely going to be some noise.. email help@happyhydro.com and we will send a video showing how it sounds!
I run UV 12 hrs a day. For the full 12/12. If i run in veg i do 12 hrs. Terpene production starts in veg.
Oh wow, how does that work out for you?
I’ve done several tests with uvb with cannabis plants in flower. Here’s my take away. LED uvb lights are not effective in our tests. Our best results was with using 2 4’ 80w fluorescent fixtures hooked onto bar style led (680w) lights with proper uvb bulbs. The lights were best at 24-28” from the canopy. Here’s where it counts. Only started giving uvb for 10-15mins at the beginning of week 5 of flower right in the middle of the light cycle. Then add 5 mins every week till harvest. We had no lose of productions but our thc and terps shot up 25-30%. I.e thc would be 20% without and 24-26% with uvb. Drawback..cost for fixtures and proper bulbs are pricey. Really pricey. However, in a commercial environment, it gives a great edge.
Hey that's some awesome research!
@@HappyHydro took a couple of years in a commercial environment to figure it out. Was a trying process but worth it. Great video btw
@@patrickgagne8795 Thanks Patrick, I appreciate that
10-15 mins seems low. Advice from Bruce Bugbee is 1.5 hours, add 30 mins each light cycle until leaf burn, then reduce the time by 30 mins.
