I often walk along the old line from Farlesthorpe to Willoughby and have done for many years. If you had turned left and continued towards Farlesthorpe you would have come across another railway cottage and if you walked past this you could join the line again and walk to another railway cottage and the newer fishing lake which is run by Burgh le Marsh angling club and is better maintained than the one you saw. The old fishing lake used to be fished regularly about 20 years ago. The dogs buried in the woody bit near the crossing cottage at Well belonged to an Alford character and the line from Well crossing cottage was walked by many about 15/20 years ago but has sadly become very overgrown now. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for posting your walk. I’m an amateur genealogist and my Marshall, Gosling and Staines ancestors lived in those towns. They moved to Jackson, Michigan in the 1880’s it’s a very rural area that must have felt familiar to them. Seeing the church and burial area is amazing too!

Somehow missed this video Nigel.. So good to see Tornado back after 2 years, it's a beautiful train and Rothley Station is gorgeous. Loved the reservoir with the cute ducks and seeing Tornado on it's way back, that green is a lovely colour and 18 yrs is a long time to build it. Really interesting 👍~ Anna

Hi Anna and Alf, pleased you found the vid interesting and Rothley station is gorgeous and with working gas lamps, yes Tornado is such a beautiful colour and Loco, when the A1 steam Locomotive trust finished building Tornado they turned there attention to building the biggest Locomotive ever built in the uk called The Prince of Wales it is due to steam in 2027, it takes a long time as they have to fund raise, this Loco is going to cost 6.5 million cheers for watching nigel
