An Attempt To Play Thrash Metal In 1992...
I need more CDs, hahaha. I do need more death metal albums on CD! I never used the car but for the last year and a half I am and sometimes I can't listen to certain albums because I only have them on vinyl. Good on Leprosy, I'm still stuck with the Relapse dookie.
I've never been too keen on Entombed but I didn't mind Clandestine, I got the original cd copy of it today and it seems to sounds so much better, same with Like an Everflowing Stream the reissue I used to have sounded crap. I think I heard those Obscenity originals were very limited hence the insane price tags? It might make me mean but I laughed at the Thomas gaff 😂
Some great additions to the collection here, Jürgen! I see your campaign for OG Death records continues! 😂 Revel in Flesh is a band I've been meaning to try out for quite some time. I recently picked up one of their albums from FDA Records... along with about 20 other CDs! I've not got around to listening to it yet, but I'm looking forward to doing so! Enjoy the new spins! Cheers! 🤘
Kann ja jeder behaupten dass der Schriftzug Epitaph bedeutet. Würde jemand ABBA sagen würde man es auch glauben. Pfui Deibel Fränkischer Federweiser. Glückwunsch zum Leprosy Fund.
I remember getting that Epitaph album on tape around 1994 or something together with Excruciate album. Loved them both and later I also managed to get split LP with both bands, absolute classics for me. Sorry then but for me General Surgery >>> Necrony haha
Damn the Leprosy reissue cover does look much worse - I never bothered to check as I have the same OG one you have
Here's Jurgen with his colored vinyl. 😁 O.G. copies of death vinyl in the U.S. is hard to find, unless you have deep pockets.
Hi Jurgen!!! Great collection update..... so glad to see you find that OG Death album and in excellent condition and didn't have to pay an arm or leg, lol!!! I have never heard about that Huangquan record label, that's "exotic", however it's so cool now you have them on vinyl.... cheers and be well
Hey Jürgen, great score on the Leprosy LP!! Great record too 🤘
Some kid thought that leper guy on Death's album Leprosy was an astronaut. Great album though🤘
Awesome stuff Jurgen, lots of these I’ve never heard of Cool stack of albums and a clean out too 🤮
🤘🏻
Killer shirt!!
Man, all this stuff is FIRE. Depravity I have the OG EP and I'm glad people are loving the reissue. Epitaph are madly underrated - the split with Excruciate is worth your time too. Great score on that condition Leprosy. I hope you feel cleaned out after drinking that faux-wine lol
My friend gave me that Depravity EP back in the day, he hated it... I loved it and it is still one of my favorites to this day. Epitaph rules, like how they sound different from the other Swedish DM bands. Awesome update.
Awesome you found an amazing condition OG copy of Leprosy 🤘🤘very rare that a seller miss grades it wrong your way!! Normally they try to grade it better than it actually is. Killer score 🤘🤘
i'm not even 2 minutes in and I wanna start drinking
I love your videos, thank you!
That wine of yours looks like pre-cum 😂
Wow this is the first time I knew every band you showed and have every album hahaha. Huangquan reissued those Obscenity albums and I picked them up. Very underrated and over looked band.
Great video! Cheers
Yes, Death Metal! That Necropsy is great. Very nice Death OG, still have my old copy, just glad I don't have to pick up those ugly relapse reissues....... Cool to see old Obscenity getting a vinyl reissue, terrible colors though. Is it Huan Quan records? Have a great weekend my friend. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I had a couple of those Death reissues. I bought the black versions onpurpose but that didn´t make them better, hahaha.... they´re gone now! It´s cool to finally have those Obscenity as physical copies in my collection! Yes, the lable is Huan Quan, never heard of them... Have a good weekend yourself!
@@albertampel4175 Chinese label, have done a lot of cool reissues of lesser known bands.
Salut Jürgen. Death Metal...again😱.Do you listen good music sometime?😂. Santé (prost).🍻🤘
Not now, hahahaha... Oh, I had some Titan Force playing earlier today! Does that count? Prost!
@@albertampel4175 oh, of course that counts! The Metal Court says: "You are forgiven" ...Santé.🍻😉
Nice J! That has to be the nicest copy of Leprosy I have ever seen! TOP COPY. VG?????? Ooops LOL. Another new list of bands to check out. Thanks!
I´ve been searching for that Death LP for quite a while. I had it as a kid but since sold it. The description for the LP was mediocre but the price was very good. Record G and cover VG. When I saw the pictures I imediately pressed the buy button, hahahaha... It´s more like NM/VG+! Have a good weekend my friend!
Very interesting Jurgen. Cool collection you have of demos etc
Interesting comparison there Jurgen. Yeah reissues always seem to have slight alterations to the originals. Yeah something live would have been a nice touch, but can't complain as it's a very nice box set.
Great response there Jurgen. Nice idea to only use original presses. Good call with the razors edge, great song and very much overlooked.
Nice one, Jürgen. Of course, with that Guinness the government would quite rightly deport you! Kudos for pulling that off with a straight face!
I first heard Death in the summer of 1987, I bought the Screm cassette back then because I could play it in my car, never had the vinyl unfortunately, I also got Leprosy and Spiritual upon release. I no longer own the cassettes, still hopeful to some day acquire OG vinyl copies Cheers Ed
Nice score on those Death albums. Do still have my OG Leprosy on vinyl, but my Scream and Spiritual is from Back on Blackbut they looks better than the Relapse ones. Have the Horst live bootleg as well, but mine is of course on black vinyl, got it on a record fare when I was around 20 years old, so not too long ago, haha. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
This weekend just gone I picked up a used copy of spiritual healing on cd for me death never made a bad album and I'm in the process of getting them all back in my collection!
Really cool you have some of the early demos by Death, Jurgen! And awesome you managed to get Scream and Spiritual Healing on OG for a good price, 2 of my favourite Death albums! Interesting to learn they used some older ideas on Spiritual Healing. Great vid 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Horst is a Dutch town
Hi Jurgen!!! Well done and cool to see you finally got back those Death OG back in your collection nd for a fair price too...... i got into Death just "recently" thanks to the VC, that's because i'm not a fan of extreme music (black/death/grindcore.....) so i will try to go after some cool cd pressings and Control Denied too (for a fair price of course). cheers and be well
Great albums, great purchase! I had no idea how high the prices went! I mean there were late 80s, probably thousands of them pressed but yeah checking the prices seems a fair deal Btw I ve never seen an individual thought patterns in any record store since the mid 90s!
I got SBG almost a year after its release (May87), around early spring 88, which attests the proverbial distribution's slowness in Portugal - we always got the 2nd hand news. But then we were aware of the band and sound, so the next time around we were expecting the sophomore which would be available here (coherently) only late winter 1989. I guess the only Death's records I bought on time, on worldwide release and distribution were the next two. but then with Human, i sort of lost interest, on account of all the technicalities. Not Spiritual Healing, which i also liked a lot. I was into Autopsy, Necrophagia, so it wasn't a big thing for me to tune in for things like ''Soulside Journey'' or ''Left hand path'', and from there on to 2ndWv NBM groups (having been one to have bought a few worldwide 1st wave gems all along the way, previously, but nobody minded the difference then). I slowly returned to Death (so to speak...) around ITP and one of my favourite albums of theirs, Symbolic, which is the only i don't have. Yet.
Very nice, I have a pretty large Death collection. Honestly the very first death metal band I got into but back in the late 80's I didn't even know what the hell Death metal was. haha. I first heard Scream Bloody Gore at a friends house and it scared the hell out of me. I was hooked. I should show my entire Death collection, I have only shown some of it on my channel. Great score on those OGS!!
Sometimes for the all-time classics I'll get a reissue just to play all the time to keep my original in good condition
7 minutes 15 seconds has got to be a record 😂 Those are the best auctions, early morning, midweek bundles! 🍻
I almost forgot to crack a beer, sorry, hahaha... The guys of "The UK Connection" on Sea Of Tranquility talk about beer, I just drink it. I was a lucky guy on that auction! I´m negotiating a deal on an OG "Leprosy" right now for a fantastic price, fingers crossed...
Awesome awesome eBay purchase 🤘Death OGs hard to come by
I was just lucky I guess, hahaha... When the UK guys were here we just saw a copy of "Spiritual..." for 150 Euro. Let me just tell you I got both of the records together for under 100....
@@albertampel4175 great score!!
The first is the best😂🤘🤘

Alright, good to know. Thank you.
Something is wrong in Franconia.
I know! It´s NOT the beer, hehehe...
Great video, Jürgen, and an experiment with some VERY interesting results! I was a teenager when most of these albums came out and the likes of Demanufacture, Om and Supercharger were some of my earliest favourite metal albums. I have also not listened to any of them in a long time, other than Supercharger, which has a couple of songs that still hold up for me, but most of it sounds like garbage to me, these days! Very surprising to hear that you still - or, in fact, ever did - enjoy it! I never really got into that Slipknot album, but it has some good songs on it, and I love the first 2. Again, not listened to those in years. You've inspired me to dig some of this stuff out myself and take another listen. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing! 😂 Cheers! 🤘
It was a cool experience to go back in time! Believe me, I was quite surprised about the result myself. I obviously did not grow up with that kind of Metal but I enjoyed some of it when I was in my 20s. Good memories were made, especially on the Dynamo Festivals in the 90, hehehe... Don´t worry, it will never be my go-to choice when I pull out a record, hahaha... oh well, maybe that Slipknot album falls in the "classics" category for me now, sorry!!!
Haha, I never DISLIKED Vol. 3, it just didn't grab me like the first 2. As I say, I'm gonna revisit these, and see what I think in 2024. Younger know, I may put it down as a classic now, too! 😂
Psycho Psycho is amazing album. Criminally underrated!! So f... good!!
I didn't mind some of the Soulfly stuff but they're definitely on the spin again to see if they end up in Josh's vclt pile 😂 Something makes me think you've slowed down buying this year which is far from a bad thing because all these I need to revisit at some point although I don't own Super Charger but I'm guessing I've probably heard a song here and there. Slipknot was one of the first bands I found in the wild on my way back towards metal. Make sure you eat better before you do anything rash 😅🍻
Between 1995 and 2005 I enjoyed only a handful of albums in that style. I just wanted to see if I still like them. Like many others I never denied my musical history, I grew up being a Metalhead and a Thrasher, added some Death Metal... then the 90s came... oh well, hahaha... All clear now, I´m back to normal, Exciter playing in the background. We have a saying here in Germany: Six beers equal a Schnitzel but then you had nothing to drink with it!
Great rant! One of the worst things is when they add a bunch of bonus tracks starting on the B-side, but it's not enough - congrats it's a double LP with a etching you look at once, and the price goes up. Cheers!
Yeah, exactly, leave the album alone as it was supposed to be!!! One thing becomes very obvious to me now is: Old pressings are usually very thin and sometimes contain more than 50 minutes of music (Maiden i.E.). "Experts" say it sounds horrible if yout on more that 21 minutes on one side. Why do the old pressings then sound better than remastered versions on two LPs on 45 rpm?????????? The old Death records on Under One Flag sound better than the remasterd Relapse pressings, same as the example I used in the video: Razor....
🤘🤘🤘
🤙👍
For me Guiness goes perfectly with Slipknot. They are both ultimate crap!
Hahahahahaha... I did something right then??? All clear, I´m back to normal... Exciter playing in the background.
