      You have to adjust the spring set, I have mine dialed in pretty good. Much better than the way it came. My terrain is terrible and most of the time I am comfortable. I do wish I had the suspension seat and for me the arm rests are the most disappointing part, they are not adjustable enough or long enough in my opinion. I have a free homemade striper that does a great job...and it was free. Can't complain to much about that. Thank you so much for your comment, I hope others will read it and be inspired to get themselves one.

      @@roughcountrygarage7943 I just got mine installed and the technician said pretty much all 4 tires were hard to balance, and one was bad to the point they had to do it a different method so it wasn’t confirmed balanced. I drove it about 10 miles and it felt good, but I am coming off of real chopped up tires so what I’m comparing to isn’t fair lol. They were quieter than I expected with just a little hum. My old tires would shake over 70mph so I’m eager to test these out tomorrow on my way to work. So far I am happy with them and they look great! @@roughcountrygarage7943 that’s good to hear. Mine feel great, no issues with vibrations but Firestone still thinks the fires are all messed up. I actually went back to Firestone today (for the 4th time) because Firestone has been a terrible experience. They are still saying it’s the tires but won’t remount them. They have literally double stacked weights and over 10oz on 2 of the tires. The only issue I’m having is a slight pull to the right but I’m done trying. Again, no real issues with the tires, I just think Firestone here is incompetent.

      @@WOATjohn I use a place called Discount Tire...shout out to these guys, they balanced mine 2x when I first got them. Having been in the tire business I can tell you with tires this size they don't always seat in the best position the first time. They can high spot easily. Many times I would break the tire back down, spin it on the rim and re seat the bead. Especially if the tire was taking a good bit of weight. This is what Discount Tire did for me. I say give them a few days, they should settle in. If you can't get them to reach out to RC, I will say that RC will be on the ready, 100% satisfaction guaranteed. They have never let me down

    Answer for DJ's comment: How is the lift holding up? He's heard mixed reviews on RC quality. RCG response: "We sold the Jeep pretty quickly but we have run this lift on 4 of our XJ's and they hold up great. The mixed reviews on quality are from the guys who buy this lift and take it hard core rock crawling. That is not what this lift is meant to do, this lift is geared more toward light to moderate offroading...although we have put it through the paces on some pretty decent obstacles. The ride is great, even with the base shocks but is much improved with the newer V2 option they have now. Thank you for your comment and your subscription."

    Just a great video. Thanks for sharing. My 03 Jeep TJ Rubicon I've owned for 21-years now is outfitted with many Rough Country items--4-inch lift like yours, new RC track bars, RC fender flares. I agree with you that RC gets a bad rap. While they were initially a value-based manufacturer with possibly lower quality products they have upped their ante over the last decade. I believe they can now complete with companies such as teraflex, Rubicon Express, metal cloak...,etc, without breaking the bank. Love RC!

I’m on Toyota stock TSS 20” wheels running a 1” spacer just to kick the tires out a bit. I love my setup. I’m always the guy who says “lets go for it. I feel pretty confident you’d get rub on the sway bar and probably a bit of rub on full cut on backups depending on your offsets but it would be manageable I think. We’ll see what RC says. To reinstall them…at that point there is no real tension in them so they sit in the seat with no fuss. We did not do bump stops on this Jeep but if we were we would replace them while we have the spring off. Can be done with the spring on too but much easier when removed. Then, we use the jacks to raise the axle back in place. One side at a time or together makes no difference. Once in place we install the bolts…seriously all in all no wrestling with it this way. On the rears…it’s truly simple…especially if you’re upgrading your whole spring pack. If you’re adding a leaf it’s a bit more involved but not too bad still. As long as the bolts don’t break! The rear springs are unbolt the old, drop the springs put the new springs in one side at a time and reinstall bolts. Then lift the axle back in place and install the ubolts. I agree we should have videoed it but honestly we did it so fast we simply forgot. Thank you for your comments and hopeful for your success on your lift. Shout if you have more questions.

      I can honestly say the only other brand lift I have ever used was BDS. It was on my Ram Pickup. I have owned 9 Jeeps now and have run Rough Country on every one of them. I also run it on my 2016 Tundra. I’m not a rock crawler, just a trail runner so I can tell you with 100% certainty that I’ve never broken or replaced any parts on my lifts. Back in the day RC got a bad rap for bad bushings and somehow that stigma has stuck around and because their products are mass produced people think they’re inferior. I’ve been to the plant right there in Dyersburg TN and watched components being built, powder coated and processed and I’ll tell you it’s impressive. You won’t be disappointed with the kit you bought, I know several friends that have used their kits…but at the end of the day I go everywhere they go and I’ve got the extra $$ in my wallet and when I ride with them…it still rides like a Jeep to me. Thank you so much for your feedback this is exactly the content I was hoping for!! Thank you

      @roughcountrygarage7943 I'm sure I won't be disappointed with this lift but I believe ur 100% correct,I've watched I bet a 1000 videos and many of them with rough country and actual employees that have a rough country lift on their jeep for 10 plus years..live and learn

    Hi, did you end up using the new rough country leaf springs for the back? If you did - did you use shackle relocates?

    • @roughcountrygarage7943
      @roughcountrygarage7943 Рік тому

      Yessir, we did use the new spring packs. I would recommend them highly. We did not use relocation shackles but new shackles are available from RC. We used the stock shackles for this installation. The new leafs offer perfect lift and since it wasn’t really built for rock crawling the factory shackles offer enough articulation for this installation. Thank you for your feedback, this is exactly what I’m hoping for with the channel.

    Regardless of how you lift your truck, stay conscientious of your suspension geometry (especially if you have 4x4). I wanted to go 3-3.5 inches on my Boss Coilovers, but the loss of suspension travel and my potential CV angles drew me back down to 2 inches (leveled).

    • @roughcountrygarage7943
      @roughcountrygarage7943 Рік тому

      I’ve been riding on it now for about 10k miles. Absolutely zero issues with geometry. Alignment has stayed in tact and CV angles are as close to factory as I can see. The Rough Country kit, I believe, takes all that into account. Now I don’t off-road in the truck. Not to say I won’t but if I do I’ll update off-road ride and function. I would love to overland this some but can’t stay out of my Jeep long enough!! Thanks for the comment and advice…very good advice. Always let people know of something is not working or giving problems!!

    Did you get any tire rub in the front? I have that same lift but I’ve never been able to put 35in tires due to the tires been to close to the Upper control arm.

      Yes, I did get a bit…not too bad. To keep it off the track bar I’m running a 1” spacer. Just rubbing a little plastic now on full cut back up.
