Great MJ! I have an 89 myself. In regards to your special JD coolant system, this is a modification. The 89 - Renix was a closed coolant system with no rad cap and a pressured reservoir. Previous owner converted to open system - hence why the rad cap is in contact with the air box, and instead of paying $5 at a pick-n-pull to get a standard reservoir (which is what I did), he chose to go upgraded JD bottle. Excellent as long as it works. Good luck with the restoration!!

1986 to 1992 is when they were made and are very rare i have multiple leftover parts if you end up needing anything
