Amazing. No way I’m gonna attempt it 😂
Fantastic piece of work. The way you paint is very counter-intuitive to what I do in smaller scale. I usually paint the dark color then go for lighter tones (e.g. the green blobs in the camo pattern or the wood grain of the handle grenade). Very interesting, not sure though I would do it the same way. But again the result talks for itself. Quite impressive.
I do it both ways, it kind of depends on the situation. Typically the rule of thumb is that dark colors cover lighter colors easier than the other way around. But if you look at how I paint the faces, I normally start with semi-dark colors working to lighter because you're not really laying down base colors/patterns, you are shading. Starting with darker colors on faces makes it easier to get dark colors down into nooks and crannies of details like the eyes and helps to avoid over-highlighting the face.
Amazing work.I have learned alot from this.Thankyou Scale Nerd
Thank you Randy!
Maestro, truly a masterpiece...very impressive...impressive, indeed... Thanks for sharing, I've learned a few new tricks of the trade. Splendid.
Thank you! 🙂
Do uou prefer oils over acrylics?
Not really, there are just some things that are much easier to do with oils... but they take so dang long to dry and have too much gloss to them. It's a love-hate relationship.
Underrated video! Good work my friend!
Thank you!
Awesome work Tom!
Thank you my friend 🙂👍
I've watched this along with part 2 numerous times, and with each time, there is always something new to learn. Your tutorial has taught me so much with regards to the mixing of colors , shadows and highlights , and creativity. Amazing work. I certainly look forward to seeing your next work. Thank you for your inspiration.
Thank you Mike, glad it is helping you! 😀
Awesome mate! 10/10 big fella 👍🇦🇺👍
Thank you so much! 🙂
How many hours do you estimate was necessary to paint this bust? Thank you 🙏😊
That was 3 years ago, hard to remember... I'd guess it was 20-30 hours total. Seemed like it was 2-3 hours a day for about 10-12 days?
Nice edit! I can't wait to do it again next year.
Yeah, hopefully you'll feel better the next time and can do the whole weekend.
Wow I could never do this. Skin is my weak point. Amazing
Practice, practice, practice. Remember, it's all about laying dozens of layers of super thin paint... like water.
Absolutely amazing job!!! Just wow
Thank you sir 🙂
An excellent diorama . Very impressive . Wish they'd reissue the Monogram 1/32 AFV's as l built them years ago and they still stand the test of time .
Thank you!
Just came across this video, amazing paint work indeed, may I ask what do you thin your paints down with to achieve a smooth colour transition between highlights and shadows?
Thanks Matt, appreciate it. I just use plain ol tap water to thin the paints.
Very nice work tank looks good and beat up
Thank you!
Excellent work
Real nice work
Nice 😊
A work of art.
Thank you! 😀
That satellite dish is some of the best bespoke .modelling details I've seen.. really well done with it.

Amazing job on a vintage kit
Thank you! 👍
Hi Tim, I have just across your channel and watched both episode 1&2, it was both fantastic and encouraging, as I have a couple of figures to paint ONE OF these days. I have now subscribed so will look forward to some more great content, best regards from Australia.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it... I hope it helps you on your future projects!
Very cool❤😎💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Brilliant 👏 well done you . Got some good tips . Thanks again 😊
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback! 😀
Tanks fron Brasil.
❤your a master of your art sir
Thank you very much! 🙂
Hi. Fenomenal work. Could you please share the colors used? Thank you.
Thank you, it's been quite a while I don't really remember exactly what colors I used for everything. Basically I put about a dozen colors on the pallet and hand mix each color to get the exact shade I need. Pretty much nothing is painted straight from the bottle.
Very nice job i Like your teknik..
Thank you!
How do you scale all the images and the sculpt to 1/6? I have photos of a eprson and clay, but dont know how to scale the photos down to 1/6. Thanks!
Well you need to know the approximate height of the person first. So, let's say they are 6 foot tall, then your figure should be 1/6 of that, or 1 foot tall. The average human head is about 10-11" tall, so divide that by 6 and you'll get 1.7" tall. If you scale your photos on your PC to match those dimensions you can print them out and have reference photos that are very close to 1/6 scale in all dimensions.
very good
Just dropped you a sub. I guess my wife does your niece's nails....lol small world. Awesome stuff.
Thank you! Small world indeed 🙂
Amazing work!!! 😮😮😮, definitely tells a story, that is the art of scale modelling, great composition of scene and wonderful realism, greetings from a fellow scale modeller 😊
Thank you so much! 🙂
ANOTHER...S.U.P.E.R.B.....
What paint brushes do you use? Especially for the eyes and super detail stuff...
've tried everything from dirt cheap to super expensive and I've actually found these to be the best value. Remarkably inexpensive but I'd pay twice the price for the quality you get... www.amazon.com/Transon-Detail-Paint-Triangular-Handle/dp/B08SLP37K7?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=AXE6250HVT12B
@@41sniper WOW...many thanks for trading your secrets....all I need now is to poach your many years of experience. Loving your work and generosity Best regards from England
When you were moving and rotaing him in your hand he looked almost as though he was going to move his head too....absolutely amazingly realistic...and compliments to a great casting in the kit too...its bloody fantastic..literally like a 1/10 waxwork from Mada,e Teusauds
Thank you sir 🙂
Wish you had showed clearly the color used. Difficult to identify at this speed.
Wow 😳 I don't know exactly what I'm looking at or the history behind it, but that doesn't matter, because that is one he'll of a build, &the paint job is out of this world, I could sit all day watching you work, but then I wouldn't get anything done myself, well done again 👏👏💯%😊
LOL, Thank You! 😄
Did you use a primer?
Yes, I used Tamiya Surface Primer (airbrushed)
There's a 1:6 scale I always wanted to buy but never could and just found out they don't have it many more. It's the toys era 1:6 scale Storm. I think the second best way on trying to get one similar to that is to make a 1/6 scale head sculpt of Halle Berry and ask someone personally to make the clothes. The problem with me making a head sculpt is I really suck at sculpting
wonderful
Great job ! This is a talent not many can do.
Thanks brother! 😃
Lovely work 👌
