Did you kept the stock manifold?
I did keep the original manifold however I installed a new exhaust system. The original had rusted out.
NICE!
Fix the filter please
Will you sale me that carb.?
I’m sorry, I did sell it to a friend for parts. He used the top half of mine to rebuild his carb on his ‘70.
I did this to mine. The only thing better would be a smaller bodied distributor, which I think can be found in the after market. The remote coil electronic uses a separate coil, but may be smaller. Number one can be anywhere on the cap as long as you index the distributor accordingly & follow the firing order.
Thanks for the tip!
15 is too young 36 is too old 24 is just right.
Not having a velocity valve, a bigger carb might bog down with full throttle.
I did have a little bit of an issue at full throttle from time to time however I don’t generally hammer down. But as for cruising, I have no issues. I also don’t take it on freeways or highways at high speed. But valid point, thank you!
Where can I buy the adapter kit that you used?
I purchased most parts from Hawaii Racing in Simi Valley, CA
Hello, my name is Ricardo. I have a chevy from 1978. Motor 250. Could I ever ask you some questions?
Sure
Orrrrr u could line up all the plates first… then insert the bolt through all three at the same time 😂
I was trying to step by step one take, not the easiest thing. Just wanted everyone to see the whole process. You are correct though, thank you!
Next time set the gasket on the plate then put the studs in
Haha same thing I thought
Maybe the video was made 20 years ago they didn't have the stuff they do now
No, I made the video the day after all the parts came in. It was a make it work situation. Mods can be difficult, especially with availability of parts
You never replied mate was the Holley swap worth it or not
Sorry for the delay. Yes very much. Power increased, idle smoother, higher speed and honestly in popping the hood its lot more impressive lol
Informative video. Thanks bro!
Thank you buddy! That’s all I wanted, make a vid. with really info not fluff
As simple Install video there is. Thank you for posting. 1. Mark Rotor position, 2 . Line up oil pump spline ,3 Drop in and hook up positive lead.........nice. Best video on this install. Thank you from Texas.
Thank you! Basic info is what I look for too.
Got a 64 C10 with a 230, doing the same thing. Thanks for the quick walk through
Glad to help! I had a ‘65 I still regret letting go of. I would love to see a pic of you have one!
Hey where’d you get your oil cap on your valve cover?
It was off an older engine I had, I can’t remember what it came out of.
Well this work on a 230 inline 6
same principal. I'm just about to change mine out today.
I once heard the 250ci engine will automatically time itself if you loosen the distributor bolt, and run it that way. It is said that the distributor will twist back, and forth until it comes to a dead stop where it sets itself up in a perfect timing setting. Is that story true?
I’ve tried it, it worked kind of on my ‘70 but I couldn’t get that cheat to work on this one. Good call, I didn’t mention that but yes that can be true
where is the electronic fan vid sir
Actually I did the video but it got corrupted and I couldn’t load it however I did remove the electronic fan, it was pulling to much voltage from the battery. I put in a new fan clutch and fan instead and no longer have heating issues.
Did adding a 4 barrel and intake make much of a difference.
Very much. Smoother and a much more rapid response in acceleration
Hi what size fuel inlet does this carb use? I just ordered this carb and found out it doesn’t come with one. I can’t find info online
Hey man do you you know what size the fuel inlet fitting is? I just ordered this exact same carb but I can’t find any info online for the size of inlet I need to screw in to the carb. Carb doesn’t come with one apparently I thought it did
any more horsepower
can anyone let me know what part numbers carb and adapter are cant seem to find them also will i have to change stock intake manifold thanks
Cool !
Que espera lleva carburador rochester?
Estos weyes aki no responden el español suerte yo tengo el mismo problema
Thanks for the inline videos Rob very nicely done.
Do you have a break out of the parts you used to complete this project?
Can you further explain what you spliced the coil wire into? I see green and black wires connected into the yellow coil wire. Thanks in advanced
What air filter base do I need?
I agree with the aftermarket intake. Seems like a lot of trouble to adapt everything down to the same small hole as the original carburetor.
Hi was the holley 350 cfm worth the change from the 1 brl ...u never said if it was better or not .. tell us please
Just wait till you modify the cylinder head and go with a lump port!!!
How did you install the breather?
Will the Turbo increase the speed or only the power?
Thank you for very good pics while removing the carb and putting things in laymens terms - keeping it simple for us novices.
I have a 250 4.1 Ltr 6 cylinder vara jet 2 carb any suggestions on upgrading it?? Thanks
Where did you get that adapter from and are you able too use that other adapter for it if you can’t find the double too single carb adapter
Where did you get the adapter for a double carb to a single carb
Drilled holes homemade
Hi, I need to do this same job. Where did you order the linkage parts from, like the cable and brackets. Could you give me some part numbers? Please let me know. it would help me a great deal. Thanks for the video.
Super clean
If your going to make a video, learn the proper name of the different items 🙄
Does anyone knows how the calefaction of this engine works? I've got the same one, but it's broken. Or if anyone saw a video or a web page where I can find how to fix it, i would appreciate it so much.
YOU CLIMB IN ON TOP OF IT AND SIT ON IT LIKE YER HATCHING AN EGG, IT'LL GET WARMER.....JUST MAKE SURE YER TESTICLES ARE HANGING IN THE COOLING FAN SO IT DOESN'T GET TOO WARM ,TOO FAST........................................"cheers!"
Yes really need an aluminum aftermarket intake manifold for a two Bbl. Carb?!
Two words: LUMP PORT. Get it! Get it now!
Wow I sold my 77 c10 stepside cause I thought it was the points n condenser when I could've just bought a new distributor be SMH
can you give me the part list? im trying to do the same thing
Following
lola Erika did you get the list? If so, can you send it to me? Thanks Stefan
the electronic distributor he's out of a 1970 V6 Chevrolet
350cfm carb but how many cfm through that 1 barrel hole into the intake manifold? Nevertheless, nice upgrade, Holleys are the only carbs anymore for which service parts are plentiful, and knowledge is pretty widely out there in the public realm.
