    Yes, the bombs dropped in 2071 which was 219 years from when this show started. The reason Maximus believes that the bombs dropped when he was younger is because that is all he knows. He wasn't taught any history.

    R.I.P Shady Sands. For context, Shady Sands was the first settlement players encountered in Fallout (1997). It was a simple adobe village founded by the dwellers of Vault 15 a generation earlier. Over time, it grew into a small, thriving community. The game is set in 2161, which is about 120 years before the events of the Fallout TV series. Shady Sands reappeared in Fallout 2, set roughly 80 years after Fallout 1 in the year 2241. By this time, Shady Sands had developed into a major city in the Wasteland and had become the capital of the NCR (New California Republic). The NCR itself was founded about a decade after the events of the first Fallout game. The NCR (New California Republic) is a major superpower in the West, the closest thing to an old-world nation. It has its own presidents, paper currency, government, and military. However, seeing the Republic in the state depicted in the Fallout TV series was a significant shift from its last appearance in Fallout: New Vegas. That game, set only about 15 years prior to the events of the show, depicted the NCR expanding into the Mojave Wasteland as it pursued further territorial growth. Along with a conflict with the Legion to the East, inspired by the Roman Empire, a faction made up of conquered tribes.

      A lot of people said the destruction of Shady Sands was retconning. But one line in FNV seems to indicate that Shady Sands was already gone in 2281 and the line is in the NCR citizenship test in Freeside to get a "free meal" where the player is asked "what WAS the name of the original Capital of the NCR' with Shady Sands being the answer....Which indicates to me that there was a new Capital, otherwise the question would have been "what IS the name of the Capital"....

  • @CollideFan1

    As you are watching and learning, anything that has Vault-tec's name on it is sus. That R and D place Lucy and Max stumbled upon is a subsidiary of Vault-Tec as the sign mentioned. Shady Sands, as the signed indicated, was the capital of the NCR and was destroyed by someone/some faction. Max survived and was picked up by the Brotherhood who were probably there to see what happened. And there's Vault 31... Any how, Betty may come off as a kindly older lady but that long stare she gave Norm before she walked out of the Overseers office in 32 was a threat towards him to stop pushing it.

  • @przemekkozlowski7835

    Lucy and Maximus are still very childish due to the way they were brought up in what are essentially cult settings. Lucy learned that she cannot trust people implicitly and is trying to figure out her own BS detector. Maximus does not know how to trust people which saved them from the fiends but also destroyed the bond he formed with his squire. Lucy and Maximus having to travel together means that they can start learning from each other.

    The episodes vary in length from 45 minutes to 1hour 14 minutes. Streaming video is not constrained by time and commercial breaks like broadcast TV. To me, this is one huge advantage of streaming vs. over the air, not to mention binge-watching . . .

    Roger IMO is also from the pre war, not a lot of ice cream around in the wasteland. (most ghouls were created during the war) Two things to note: The Ghoul recognizing Lucys name. (That is fully explained later) and (" Well, there's what people say they did and what they really did.) I love Norms story arc, it mirrors one of the games main activities of investigating vaults and figuring out their stories.

  • @CollideFan1
    @CollideFan1 День тому

    My favorite episode next to the last one. When the Ghoul answered Lucy's question of, "I'm you, sweety, you just give it some more time", he meant she will become like him, cold, ruthless, do what it takes to survive, because these two are mirror images of each other if you think about it. I like the end when he watches his old movie and he sees how far he's fallen from being that good man that he was. Maybe change is coming? Norm is like the unofficial fourth main character, his arc is interesting.

    It is fun to watch for Stan Lee. He was a major figure in the creation of the comic book characters. He has a cameo in all the movies until his death. In this movie ge was Hugh Hefner. If you don't remember what he looks like in The Hulk he is the man drinking the soda pop. There is much undetected foreshadowing for coming movies. You will want to remember the group of bad guys, The Ten Rings. It comes back in a movie which is major much later.

    Her real name is Virginia Potts. Tony gave her the nickname "Pepper." In the comics he had put in some bad data into the companies data and she was the only one who caught it (she was in accounting). When she tried to come and tell him to warn him they wouldn't let her in and she pepper sprayed the guard who tried to stop her... hence the nickname "Pepper." Similarly, Happy is not his body guards real name. He is Harold Hogan. He got the nickname Happy when he was a boxer because of his reluctant smile.

    Many soldiers on the beaches did complain about the RAF. However the RAF flew almost non stop sorties over Dunkirk for every day of the evacuation intercepting bomber streams. but they were so high up most of the soldiery did not notice them. Dunkirk was in smithereens which is not captured in the early scenes of the film on fire & covered in smoke due to the German bombardment of the town. The number of soldiers on the beach & equipment is not really well represented. Perhaps Nolan should have used CGI. Also worth watching is the 2004 TV series Dunkirk with Benedict Cumberbatch which also covers the Wormhoudt massacre of British soldiers by the SS on the outskirts of Dunkirk.

    X2 was the best superhero movie at the time, Days of Future Past is another great movie. Logan is always phenomenal... The Dark Knight is top tier. They especially 'Agent's' runs alongside & behind the movies weaving them all together......You'll also find out just how important 'Colsen' is....... Good news is.... if you decide to change to chronologically, atm you've only missed 'Captain America' & 'Agent Carter' both set at the end of WWII. Then it's on to 'Hulk' as planned...😉

    For the MCU, the team at Marvel Studios drew upon both classic Marvel comics from the 1960s, and a reimagined comic book universe called the Ultimates, which attempted to bring the classic Marvel stories a bit more up to date and tie them more to the modern day world. One stand out example of this is Nick Fury. For the Ultimates they intentionally made Nick look like Samuel L. Jackson. By contrast, the Nick Fury from the classic comics was a white WWII vet.

    Before this movie came out, RDJ had a lot of trouble getting work because of a history of legal and drug problems. This movie absolutely saved his career. Marvel took a huge chance on him, but he is absolutely made to be Tony Stark. And I think his own redemption arc helped him embody the role.

    It's hard to believe there was a time when much of Hollywood wanted nothing to do with Robert Downey Jr., but that was very much the case in the mid-90s to early 2000's. In the early 90's, he was a rising star, thanks to getting an Oscar nomination for the lead role in a biopic about Charlie Chaplin, but he developed a serious drug problem and was arrested several times, even doing a significant stretch in prison. He got a promising comeback opportunity in 2000, when he joined the cast of the TV show "Ally McBeal", but yet another drug-related arrest led to him being fired from the show before the season ended. By 2007, he'd been clean and sober for a while (and done good work on some low-budget, indie projects), but director Jon Favreau had to really fight hard to convince Marvel execs that he was the right choice for the role (to be fair, this was their first self-produced film, and that alone was a huge risk). RDJ ended up taking a huge pay cut in order to get the role (Terrence Howard actually made more on this film than he did), but it certainly paid off, both for him and for Marvel.
