That really is a great space! I know what you mean about being in a small studio and not being able to step back to look at the work in progress. A mirror is helpful but really being able to step back and ponder is best. Ha ha, Twinkies and Little Debbies is hilarious and you're right way more fun! Wish I could come! So glad people are really seeing you and your work. YAY!

I honestly don't know how you keep up with so much because I am exhausted just thinking about you making a vid and also spending 8 hours in the Florida Sun making chalk art and then the pile of other things you attend to in the same day. Thanks for the Lion's Mane tip. All I can say is that please don't drive yourself into the ground. I am 73 and I have had to regulate my time and energy unlike when I was younger. All I can do is all I can do and that has to be enough but also, the fact is that without you, without your Self, there is no art, no residencies, no awards, no nothing. hi beck, i totally understand where you are at and where you are coming from, we are experiencing extreme groups here in England , plus the work load ,we don't had the prejudices you experience in UK has in the USA ,its much more freer , but the climb to be seen is tiring , to the point you find yourself surrounded by fog when you look up and out, as artists its always to push /pull situation, and how can we be authentic when we get surrounded by demands not of our making ,but if we stick to being authentic, process is slow going or at a stand still , there is a fine line /balance which we can not find within ourselves or the outside world , we make ourselves vulnerable when we leave our studios ,we are the keeper of the true , we explore aspect of life within our practice but the vulnerability comes are a high price when it collies with real life , what you are experiencing is burn out ,from being pushed/pulled and these women bought it home, you have to stop, rest rethink, adjust the bar and step outside again , i stepped aside from many art related projects this year myself ,i cant stand the constant push to sell,sell,sell without proper investigation, just art being made without thought or process behind it , am coming out the fog myself with a new reset button, a new balance for as long as its last til i topple over the line again ,i wish you well and hope you can take a breathe between commitments ,i love that you keep it real , i always found you refreshing from the flowery artists i called them ( ladies that lunch) bubble heads but their work sell well and i must content myself that they work is sold for beauty not meaning and /or investigation ,take care hugs bee

I make my own gesso from calcium carbonate, Elmer’s glue ( or any cheaper brand) and water…and add a cheap craft paint any color
