I couldn't be more happy for you. It's a reward and acknowledgement that is so well-deserved. Bravo! ^_^

Thank you Erik - I was hoping you'd see this. I've been meaning to reach out but then the squirrels in my head get to chattering...

So happy and yes relieved for you Beck or maybe I should say right along with you. You deserve the recognition.
I had to really stop and contemplate the art fair thing, I did them for a time thinking that was how artists made a living because galleries seemed out of reach for me. But I found the people who won awards and made money were as you said, they paint for the art fairs, to sell and win the awards. I sold a couple paintings and got compliments all day long but that didn't cover costs or pay the bills! It got to be so disheartening I gave up painting all together for many years and got a "real job" to help support my family.
I started painting again a couple years ago and it was like coming home. You, Beck Lane in large part woke up that part of my life that was dormant for many years by sharing your art and your life struggle and yes even pearls of wisdom!
So, yes you have a place and yes you matter and yes what you do makes a difference to people. I am so grateful for you.

Bonnie, I'm so glad you found encouragement to get back at it. You don't need to think "what if I..." ever & there's a lot of self sustaining strength in that.

I am the mother of an artist in Dayton, Ohio. ...NO... I am not here to promote her. But because of my artist soul, I found you recently. If I were rich, I would own and promote your work. I enjoy your process and honesty. My daughters and I are products of an abusive father/husband... and I see "us" in you. Each of us has and/are climbing out of that hole whole after 30 years in different ways but each of us appears in your work or as you speak. I think it's the mental process you go through is why.
You are valued and one day.... One day I will own one of your pieces. ~ Donna Logan Welty ( if interested look up Tiffany Clark, Mural Machine in Dayton, Ohio. also a social activist. and 11 yr heroin survivor ) ~

Oh Donna, I'm both glad & sad you see yourself in my stories BUT I know what a relief it is to hear people speak your language. To know you're not alone &, despite what people say, there are people who share similar experiences can be an incredible relief. A burden shared carries far less weight.... Thank you so much my friend for sharing.
