Let's Review the Osee GoStream Duet! [Product Review]
Production switchers come in all sorts of different sizes and can be equipped with quite an array of feature sets from built in chroma keyers to the ability to stream to your favorite platform. Some are built with the most taxing IO requirements in mind while others are fashioned for ease of use and portability. In today’s video, we take a closer look at the up and coming Osee Go Stream Deck Duet to see what it brings to the table.
Osee reached out to me to do an honest review on their up-and-coming Go Stream Deck Duet - a step up from the original model - adding BNC connectors for HD-SDI video inputs, included NDI HX license, and a built in controllable fan! Thank you Osee for sending this out to me!

Camera Control Units [Understanding the Basics]
Thanks for sharing. I'm really enjoying this.
Can you stream all 4 cameras at the same time?
Good Question for you. I have this Osee GoStream Deck Dual. I have the OBSBOT Tail Air using it Wireless doing into the AUX input via NDI and it works well. GoStream Deck is limited to only 1 NDI source via AUX. OK, but I want to add two more Tail Air cameras total of 3 Wireless WiFi NDI to the network. So then after holding down the Play Button, I will see the 3 NDI sources on the NET. Question is... Can I build/record 3 different Macros on buttons ext. 1,2,3 each that the Macros is use to switch quickly & smoothly between the 3 cameras, in effect will seemingly give the GoStream Deck and effect 3 NDI source per say? Would this work, seting up 3 different Memory Macro buttons as a now 'Creative Switcher' to actively switch live between multiple NDI sources simulating a unlimited NDI source switcher? Using macros to break the limited barrier of the advertised ONE NDI source via the 1 AUX input. Can you check this out and see if it will work and let me know please so I can go ahead and order two more Tail Airs?? Thanks Friend.
Can you do a video where you play a video game and stream it at the same time on both UA-cam and Twitch using the Osee Gostream Duet? You would get a TON of views from people that would normally never watch your videos. I can see the Duet being used this way but have never actually seen it. Gamers that have a desire to stream would appreciate this type of content. And knowing that they can make use of the green screen from the duet would help youtubers utilize their screens to another level during their streams.
Man, you now have 8 or 10 times your current age in experience. Congratulations!
Great video!
can i setup a macro loop for switching sources?
That rehearsal was stressful.
So how does resolve "know" which camera is live? I've seen resolve showing red indicators around the camera angles which were selected by the atem swicher. Isn't the computer connected / reading the files from an ATEM ISO, instead of the cloud storage?
versi bahasa indonesia belum ada yang membahas osee
Thanks guys, really interesting stuff.
I was going through your old videos and noticed the Graphite and noticed the integration of the built in XPression. I was just curious what you guys do for graphics templates if you have someone that designs them or if you just use the built in ones? I’ve been trying to possibly find someone that would design a package for me kinda like the ESPN one but with different graphic designs.
Hi! We don't do any of the design work. All of the graphics are typically from our customers. I do however find myself taking the designs and building an XPression package out of them, since they're typically not XPression ready. That's an area that I specialize in, building XPression packages/ templates with designs that are already polished from third-party software like Photoshop or After Effects.
I need a supersource video
Thank you
Wow, this is interesting! I'm looking forward to the seminar on this
Wow, this is interesting! I'm looking forward to the seminar on this.
Hope to see a future OSEE GoStream that has the BNC / SDI Camera Inputs as well as at least one Program BNC / SDI Output. That would be the best of all worlds.
I would like to know if the streaming feature supports srt? If it doesn't, can you reach out to Osee to improve and include ghis feature
Hello! There is currently no SRT support, but maybe it will appear. In June 2024, OSEE representatives said it may happen by August or September 2024. But at the moment only RTMP/RTMPS and purchasable NDI|HX input support (already activated at no extra cost with the Duet).
Great review. Excellent format. Thanks!
Hi! What cameras were used for this? Thank You!
Hi! JVC HM890-GY. Telecast fiber transmission system.
I was able to add a 5 camera in put using a cheap hdmi video capture card connected to usb c 2 port on the device
Cool. I just ordered gostream and going to try if it detects bm mini pro as input too.
Hello, i follow your video to create one custom panel, skip the acid camera, because we use sony camera CCU & RCP, unlucky can’t output to Aux Bus, would you advise more detail, thanks!
Hi! So you're looking for a video on custom panel basics?
yes
I saw someone using it with an ATEM iso with a hard drive plugged into it
You love that ross
less bandwidth would normally equal more latency not less.
8:10 What is a TD?
Technical director
nice job! Ryan
Does it have input scalers? Can inputs be in different formats?
Great Video thanks
A keyboard compatibility is a discovery (although not completely unexpected, GoStream is a Linux device). I'll add that to the FAQ after checking myself (for some reason I didn't try it in all half a year I own a GoStream device). But... you already installed the software, why didn't you use it to change settings and add streaming keys? USB hubs aren't recommended - at least unpowered (passive) USB hubs. I find your approach a bit convoluted, TBH... Maybe because I come from “camera, computer, soundboard” side of things rather than from “analog broadcasting van”.
You're right! I absolutely could have just used the software. Works great! The keyboard was just a curiosity itch. As an engineer, I'm kind of programmed to look for contingencies in all the products I use. If for whatever reason I was in a situation where the software wasn't available/ accesible the keyboard makes for a fine alternative :)
It's not “Deck Duet”, it's just Duet.
Yepp! You're absolutely correct. My title and thumbnail represent that. When their product team originally reached out to me about the review they referred to it as the "GoStream Deck (SDI version)". In later emails they started to tag on "Duet" to the end... and so that's why I referred to it as such when shooting the video. By the time the video was done and ready to be uploaded, I believe their marketing team settled on just "GoStream Duet".
The osee is working well ended up looping of 4 cam feed from the master control van so I had easy b channel intercom. Literally 3000 foot cable runs I avoided this way. Overall so far it's streaming well. It did lock up twice until I reupgraded the firmware. Seems ok now. Half a Celtics game to go...keep u updated as I go.
Very nice review. Love the format. Keep em up! Great to see a review of such a product coming from a broadcast professional perspective.
Good review
Not a fan, been messing with it for review a while now. Too small. Needs a larger unit. I prefer the atem but fir what it is its a work in progress....osee asked if i can do a live production with it so i got 5 northeastern students and we doing 1 half of the Boston Celtics. Let u know how it goes
Please do!
Just to clarify - the GoStream Duet DOES accept some interlaced formats. 1920x1080i@50/59.94/60 It DOES NOT however output any interlaced formats. That's where it is the "progressive only" club.
Lack of interlaced format support is a pretty solid deal killer in a LOT of situations. And the other big omission is of course an SDI output. Impressive tech for the size and price through. I wonder if other "webcam" sources would work, I'm thinking HyperDecks for clip playback, or even an Atem as an upstream switcher for something like computer inputs.
I guess I should have clarified that a little better, but input wise it will accept 1920x1080i@50/59.94/60 - but on the output side there is no interlaced formats supported. That's what I was saying when progressive only 😬 I believe I have heard of people using an ATEM upstream in the USB port!
you sir are indeed an artisan engineer
awesome instructional video, I gain a lot from your work, I'm never to old to learn
What did u get em right outta bed......must be a legal THC state nice
So upset you big guys found a way to incorporate license and user upgrades to make more money of a products internals that I already spend a land rovers price on. Seriously just charge me an extra grand at purchase and call them free upgrades. I'm sure thousands have read the brochures and info spec's wrong and found out they needed to spend more money to fix their issue.
I dont understand, can we see the breakout boxes
Wow craigs a nationial level employee that clearly hates being on camera in field he works in lol......hes literally reading the flyer
Why even put 3g sdi on a 4k camera
Future proofing. Not everyone is ready to go balls-to-the-walls UHD. When they buy a camera like this, it's usually fitting into an existing 1080p system with the goal of one day being full UHD.
@@BroadcastBuddyTV I agree even in broadcast jobs very rarely working with 4k but everything's 12g now for us
Can i c the front damn
Do you have experience/video on registering a lense to a camera? White shading, flares, v mod saw?
Amazing
This was a fun interview! It was awesome to chat with you about XPression! Thanks for having me on Broadcast Buddy TV!
