    Holy shit dude... I was just looking for some indication of what my second guitar was. I bought my banana yellow RGZ 211m (pyo2049 I can't ready shit else after that) sometime before 1991. Which I still have. YOU! My friend... Have WAY too much money and time on your hands. 😅

    Still one of the most useful DCS videos in July 2024. MFD's are now usable and even provide an excellent picture. I had to use the Monitorian app (downloaded via the Microsoft app store, for free) to set the MFD displays to 100pc; they were at 44pc only originally for some unknown reason. Thanks a million Chris!

      @Davidpastawallace i appreciate the ask but this guitar is part of a legacy of my buddy Michael Bianco. I'm doing a documentary on him and I bought this and restored it from one of his fans. But that's to say this along with the 60 other guitars aren't for sale as they are also part of a collection I'm continuing to build. It's funny because people see my collection and think man you have a ton of money sitting there and always laugh, no, not if you spend money and never sell them. All of my guitars and amps will end up in a trust to continue to promote and respect the players that performed on them.

      @valterbeicinha9633 it's funny because the RGZ RGX YG series was to compete with the ibanez RG, but really they are not the same due to the necks. Many will love the rg because of the thin flat neck, but most yamaha players will all says one time or another regardless of with rgx they had they all say yamaha has the best feeling necks. I'd have to agree. Both there's a place for both. But I also have strats, Parker fly, steinberger, etc. So there's something for everyone out there

    Excellent video on this tremolo...the most complicated bridge I have ever worked with. About 3 years ago I took one of mine apart, and sawed the arm coupling off with with a hacksaw, as the non original arm was sloppy and I decided to replace it with a push in OFR type. The hole in the baseplate worked fine with the OFR's diameter once that section of the block was removed. The other very odd thing about this bridge is that they are not all mounted with the same spacing for the posts....I have two. The Pacifica 921 I have is mounted at 80mm, the 1221 at 74mm and a floyd will drop right onto the 1221's posts and in the route....not so on the 921. If it's set at 80mm good luck finding a floyd that will fit in there. GE199T which has that flat knife edge for variable spacing is too big for the route.

    I own an RGZ Custom purple guitar. Bought it new in 1994 in the UK. It took some setting up but it is a brilliant playing and sounding guitar. Only thing I changed was the Tremolo spring a year or so ago. Honestly I would never swap it for any other guitar. It sounds beautiful clean and with any effects too. It still looks brand new. You have a nice one there too Chris. Shame people don`t appreciate well played and crafted songs and music anymore for the most part. Commercial music today is absolutely dire trash in my opinion. I made and recorded my own to make up for the lack of good new music. I soon found out no-one else is really interested in retro sounding new music-even though it is totally original and totally professional sounding. Too bad, their loss not mine.

      The pick gaurd screw holes are pretty much based off of the same design so all manufacturers can make parts that are interchangeable. I've bought parts for my strats that were from Chinese companies and they all fit great. Just keep in mind that the vintage guitars 60s and earlier had less screws and the holes were in different places. So count the number of screw holes your guitar has and make sure they match up

The first guitar I bought my self after working for months as a janitor in a music store for months was a RGZ321FP (same blue methalic color than yours). Man, I loved that guitar so much but then started my "normal guy life" and I sell it in 2001. Yesterday I found my guitar on sale in a local online marketplace, not a simlilar one, it is the one I sold! It has the same scratches and different volume and tone knobs I puted on then (I still have the originals). I was uncertain on bought it again, but no more doubts now.

    Hi I have a guitar identical to this model and was wondering how do you fix the bridge so that the low strings don’t keep hitting the fret board. I’ve never strung a Floyd Rose before or done a set up on a guitar and it’s made it a bit harder to do since it is a hard to find guitar. Do you have any tips for a newbie on how to set this thing up/ adjust the bridge properly? I think the back spring tension is pulling the bridge down lower than it should be. I don’t want to damage it on accident . Thanks!

    Just happened into an RGZ 112P for $125 at an indoor flea market guitar vendor. Needs some lovings because it's pretty dirty and kinda sticky, but when I plugged it in, I knew. My dad's favorite (now last) guitar is a Yamaha classical, so when I got into it, I really wanted a Yamaha. My Squier Strat, SSS, just wasn't keeping up for some things due to the buzz and it gets muddy on chords. But having a guitar with a humbucker is quite nice. So looking forward to seeing how it feels and sounds in real playing

    If I came into a first-generation Steinberger bass, one thing I would try to do in short order is have the headpiece upgraded to one from the Synapse line. There may be nothing wrong with double-ball end strings, but I’m kind of picky.

      The original hL2 headpiece accommodates single ball end strings too. DBE strings didn't exist at the start of production. Replacement headpieces with string clamps and string adapters are available for XL, XQ, XP and XM basses. The Synapse headpieces were a common failure point for those basses and would be the last thing I'd put on any Steinberger, even a Synapse! :) There's an aftermarket headpiece available which has the string clamps integrated instead of the bizarre system on the stock Synapses, which also looks better. :)

    Really like your enthusiasm for yamaha rock guitars. I am lucky enough to own an RGX1212s with mahogany/maple five ply neck through construction and ebony fretboard that is an incredible playing guitar. Mine has the yamaha tuners and is indeed made in Taiwan but is excellent quality maybe even better than my Ibanez RG550 that was made in Japan. Thanks for pointing out that the "made in Taiwan " were excellent quality guitars too.

      That 1212 was on my list for a long time. After I made this video it got so many views that it actually changed the worlds view on these guitars and the prices skyrocketed. I could have gotten a Japanese 1212 for 500 usd and now they go for 1800. My personal collection after restoring them to better than factory has made them worth 4 times what I bought them for, and in some cases 10 times. Really I got lucky. I knew yamaha made great engines and pianos but had thought their guitars and basses were junk simply because no one ever endorsed them or saw them in major bands. But alas, I remember what the Japanese do best, improve not invent.

      @chromaticmusic I've just bought a new pickguard for my cheap experiment bass (everyone needs one). It fits amazingly snug wverywhere but....there's a gap near the output jack and one of the bottom screw points misses the wood so effectively need to add wood to slightly fill the routed/cavity area in order to fit the new pickguard. Scanned UA-cam for tips but found nothing. I'm going to cut and trim some wood up and glue it in so it's more or less flush to the body surface, paint it and use superglue as a lacquer finish (If any of that makes sense) So.. Any thoughts or tips?

    • @chromaticmusic
      @chromaticmusic 3 місяці тому

      @halo20763 there's a really easy way to fix it. One method would simply use wooden tooth picks as a filler. Next is put cotton in the hole and then saturate it with super glue. Both work very well. Look up how to fill small holes with cotton and super glue, it will show you a ton of cool hacks

    • @halo20763
      @halo20763 3 місяці тому

      @chromaticmusic ah no, it's not a hole as in a screw whole, the oickguard is to small and leaves a gap between itself and the body itself. Like an 8mm x 13mm gap, and the bottom screw hole on the pickguard hovers above the cavity.

I just kind of fell into the deal and have been quite happy about it ever since. The guitar is one of the pure black ones with the ivory crazy stripes all over it and it's in really nice condition. Thanks for the informative video!

    I've been using The Way, and I noticed they made an update that allows the F15E to work. I did that install and now, It seems like The Way is talking to DCS because when I go in game the header of the app displays the artwork of the module I'm using, however, when I go to F-10, I get no green dot when I go to start to make waypoints. It seems like the app is collecting waypoints, just no dot. Then, when I go to transfer to DCS, it does not do anything with the module. No action whatsoever... Any help is super appreciated!

      Not sure if the F15 will work. Plus there's an issue with razbam and ED working on updates. Does the dot work other aircrafts?

      @@chromaticmusic Actually no. I've had issues with it in the past, and I don't remember exactly what I did then, but I had it working. Then I randomly noticed they said the F15e was working in an update, so I took the update, and no bueno.
