So glad i found you and your wonderful videos
Thank you for the comment about using what you have available. My neighbor had a Mullein plant (2nd year) growing in her driveway. I noticed it after the stalk shot up. She allowed me to harvest the leaves throughout the summer. Now September 2nd I pulled it out of the ground to utilize the root. Many videos did not elaborate that it was still ok to use. Im going to try to make a tincture for my husband's back issues. ❤
What is the oxeymels used for ?
and...ummmm
Where did you go Jo?
Thank you
Burdock root is one of the four herbs for Essiac tea😊
I love burdock, but our clay soil is a pain to dig them😅 I never get the thick roots, only thin ones, though I try to get them in spring. The really little ones I eat raw.
Thank you for the straightforward video and meal suggestion!
Thank you for this video. I've been ordering the mullein leaf tea bags online but wanted to learn how to grow and utilize without buying them.
just got back from picking cottonwood in Alaska
Are oxymels fizzy? Do you put the full lid on or just the rim? Do you burp them? Are they alcoholic? Do you strain the flowers?
Hello! Do you know how do make burdock infused honey? Thank you in advanced! I have some dry root.
❤
Does your cottonwood soap retain much of a smell?
Can you use grain alcohol and burdock root in a decarboxylator? To make a potent tincture? Or how would I do that
Be careful according the WebMD, belladonn and burdock are so similar that you can confuse them. 😂 They actually wrote that.
Where do you buy your ACV by the 5 gal bucket
Dont understand glove if hands are clean.
Im happy you said something about the white stuff at the bottom im glad i didnt throw it away yesterday.. I was like that cant be good but i guess it is.. Thank you i used ACV so me an my kiddos can take
Man I really just wanted to hear the drying part and thought maybe it was at the end, I did skip through to get past the other methods so maybe it was mixed up in there. Its so frustrating to watch a 20 min video that might not have the answer to the question so I often scan hoping to find it.
Thanks Dacia, watching from Ontario Canada and am goin out this wk with my granddaughter to pick our beautiful Goldenrod for tea and tincture.
Thanking you
Very nice video and educational. I am going to give this a try as we have burdock growing all over the farm.
Use oil to emulsify the resin on your fingers after harvesting buds. Once it's "flowing" on your skin, you can either use it directly as a treatment on any areas that might need it, winter feet, scratches or burns. You can just lick it off, as long as you're not allergic (which means you shouldn't be harvesting or using it in the first place), or you can waste it by washing it off.
So sweet. Thank you!
Thank you Dacia and Josephine 💕 I noticed the birds eating the Cottonwood buds and I didn't know that they are medicinal 🌳🌳🌳
Just wanted to share that Anthony Williams says using alcohol denatures the root and is bad for the liver, I think he recommends glycerin instead. Thx
Veggie glycerin is alcohol
Why do you use plastic lid insted of metal one?
And also how do you make sure oil the oil doesn’t grow mold?
Can you use green ones
when finish steeping for 6 weeks + do you down proof it to 20% or using at 100%
Use it at 100
wow that was a very informative video ....I thank you alot ....we have abundance of burdock where i live and this spring will be harvesting a bunch to make some infusion for tea...thanks again for sharing.
So hey, to anyone that is looking at making any sort of rosehip preparation, keep in mind that the drying process destroys much of the vitamin C. So generally, you'll only want to dry them if you're making some kind of infusion oil or topical, so that the water content doesn't make your oil infusion rancid. However, if you're wanting to make anything to be ingested, use them as soon as you possibly can after fresh harvest. I was really disappointed because I learned that fact about the vitamin C shortly after I had strained my first ever rosehip tincture made with dried rosehips from a local apothecary. And while that tincture came out very well and contains much vital medicine (also it's just delicious, I have to stop myself from drinking it), it was a bit of a bummer to discover that it's missing most of its vitamin C. So basically your option for rosehip tincture and elixir if you want the true medicine is *fresh wild harvest*. You just have to offset your alcohol menstruum for the amount of moisture in the fruit. I suggest (A75:W25) or stronger, since Vit C is most soluble in alcohol. So while there's no wrong way necessarily...some ways are better than others. Her drying process seems pretty short and gentle, so I'm not knocking it at all. But it's good to know these things!
And hello from North Idaho.
Advice from another expert dyer says skins = yellows, seeds = pink/reds
Isn't there a poisonous look alike that often grows with burdock?
Thank you
Thank you Simply Josephine for sharing your wealth of experience and knowledge 👍❤️….Debbie from Canada
I am wanting to do this, I was told that you have to make sure that you get the little hairs off of the leaves, I understand that by staining it will do the trick but what about when you dry them, really enjoyed this video
thank you ~ yes those little hairs can be irritating, i find a fine metal strainer works well when straining the tea. you can always strain through cheesecloth
What is the dosage?
Whats it good for?

SUBBED. That MUSIC set my soul at peace. Thank you
I'm in Montana also :) I don't like our absence of wild crafting in the winter.
Thank you for your post, you did an awesome job explaining everything.
thank you
Wow!!! I'm so glad I found this video!! After years of cussing upon finding them stuck all over the vehicle in the driveway, it seems I have a new positive outlook on cottonwood buds! In three or four weeks I just have to wait for a windstorm. Thank you so much!
yay ~ i felt the same way about hawthorn. every time i would mow my lawn the dang things would crap me, and get caught up in my clothes. now i feel so very blessed to have two hawthorn trees in my yard.
Thank you! Wonderful video!!!
