I'm so old that I was around when Pet Sounds was first released. I bought the album, took it home, put it on the turntable and couldn't believe what I was hearing. It does my heart good to see a new generation honoring this music having studied it and learned its complexities and keeping this awesome music alive and relevant. Bravo. Brian set out to write and produce the greatest rock/pop album ever. I think it can be argued that he actually did.

This is one of my favorites I have on my every day playlist..just love the arrangement , the harmonies, the girl singing lead vocals..the musicians are so concentrating , yet having fun . And the videography is excellent ! Wish we knew if and where any of these kids went on to do more with their talents ? 👍👍❤️❤️

@ellesanders9695 The singer properly understands that the grandchild character is enduring crappy circumstances ... not overcoming them. She pulled it off beautifully. She also gets that she should not be trying to show off her voice range or be decorative. She instead maintains a minimalist simple flat tone which hits the target. Also allows us to better enjoy the harmonies and layers of the talented choir and instruments. She avoids trying to be the center of attention ... and this ironically creates a performance in which she is memorable. Thumbs up to the arranger and conductor and mixer. Camera work turned out great. Congratulations to everyone involved for your superb teamwork and for building your catchy remarkable treatment of a classic song.

Instrumentation is great. Lead singer is good and will be better with time. I feel like he is imitating the lyrics but not the emotion of the lyrics. Kinda like he’s reading the lyrics from a book. The lyrics need more emotion. Make the audience believe you are up on stage having the time of your life.

the story behind the sloop "John B" is tragic. the ship and the crew came to Nassau, got ashore, got drunk, got in a fight, got caught by sherif John Stone, were told to "Git" or spend the night in jail or sail away - even if it blew "half a pelican". They cast off, sailed out and the next day the wreck was found up the coast. No survivors!!
