How to Deal with Same Species Fish Aggression
I love the rope fish man! I’m glad you reunited yourself with some of the coolest freshwater fish ever! Also, the fire eel is going to eventually own the tank.
Yeah, I’m already considering building a giant aquarium for that fire, eel, and more monsters like it, arrowana, rays, etc..
You should build a large cave system! As of right now the tank looks pretty barren.
Nice one Frog
I don’t blame him. I would’ve ate that fish too.
Is that pool filter sand?
Yes
Everything i read says they will be 6 or 7 inches.
Good pickup. The fish are looking good. You are going to have to spot feed him though because the others will go after the food that’s meant for the fire eel. They take long to grow at first because they usually only eat live foods and blood worms. Earthworms are a great starter food for him that he will likely immediately eat from your hand. I have 2 fire eels, 1 of them in my monster tank and he’s about 30 inches and eats everything including pellets
Thanks for sharing your tank Brock!
I’ve owned rams before my favorite miniature cichlid, I think the trick to them is soft and warm water I’ve kept them with discus before and they did perfect with a school of rummy nose tetras
I had my fire eel for 5 years and she got huge. I had her in my 800gallon home built tank. She died last year along with some other fish from a mistake during a water change.
That is a bummer
Hum same personality as the EBA 🤨 Mine are totally different... Way less personality... However I do prefer the EBA 👍
What a beautiful aquarium. and it is very sturdy you know exactly what you are doing. how happy the fish will be. you can put almost anything in it.
Grow out tank....?
Great to see you so excited! I love Bristle Nose Plecos, not sure about the snakey ones yet.The tank paint brings out the colour of your eyes btw! God bless you 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
Every tank needs at least one pleco....i think a large albino Bristlenose would look great in your large tank i know mine does...good luck with your eel...
Very cool! The eel type fish used to creep me out. I find them to be very fascinating now 😊 They are fun to watch.
I think you need some more plants. Tank looks bare.
I love planted tanks. All of my other tanks are heavily planted. Unfortunately sometimes types of fish cannot be kept with live plants. For instance Severums will eat any type of plant you put in the tank with them. That’s why this one tank is not planted
Nice fire good size.a smaller one will not eat anything but live food. They are very sensitive to medication. Good luck fires are my favorite fish fresh or salty.had one for 10+ years he's still in a display tank 1000 gallons in my buddies store in Santa Cruz Barney is 15+ now
Morning Brock & 🤠
lol that frog is going to eat your fish man.... anything less than 3/4 the size of a frog is food.
Dude that is big. I have ordered a 240 and now watching this I'm thinking did I do the right thing? 😱
I love it. So many options for what you want to fill it with.
@@uncommonaquatics This I why I ordered this size. My previous aquarium was too small for many fish species. Especially gigant species.
mermaid. i would keep a mermaid in an aquarium that size. with their consent, of course.
Why are you assuming the mermaids gender. With my limited knowledge of biology I’m going to say that if there are any mermaids, then there have to be boy mermaids as well
@@uncommonaquaticsi can't dispute that!
Cant wait for more bigger fish hahaha
I'm no aquarium/tank expert by any means - but I just would naturally not put a frog in with fish unless the fish were HUGE and in a pond. Just saying...
I’ve kept these same frogs with cichlids and Bisher for the last 20 years but the differences I had a small biker with a big frog instead of adding it as a juvenile
@@uncommonaquatics Oh ok - I understand that xxx
how old will the Electric Blue Acara ?
They live 8 to 10 years. Mine are probably six months old.
I love mine
And they dont jump really. My Blue Acara (wild not eletric) is in my tank without a lid. And she dont even eat guppy fry which I hoped she would.
I have four electric blue and one natural blue. Great fish
@@uncommonaquatics yea love them :)
I have had them jump. I'm sure it depends on tank mates or conspecific aggression but I have had them jump.
I agree 😊 I adore Electric Blue Acara 💙 I have a pair and they are so friendly. When they have fry, they are not overly aggressive and make great parents.
Moved all of mine into one tank, hoping they pair off. Awesome fish
EBA are a fantastic fish for all types of setups. 💯👍
Definitely
I've kept Oscars for years.if u don't over feed or gold fish feeders they don't eat your other fish as much 😂 and are less aggressive.
Right. I have two Oscars in this aquarium. Awesome fish with a lot of personality. Some people just don’t have room for a big aquarium or have another reason. If you’ve only got a something like a 40 gallon. You can still have Acara
I agree such a great fish...
I am actively trying to breed them now. If I can get them to pair off, they will get their own tank.
Howdy Brock! I loved that Electric Blue Acara the first time you showed it. Just a stunning fish! Thanks for sharing 🤠
Morning Oscar
Morning good sir 🤠
Morning
Awsome tank bro.my gulper catfish is in a 40 gallon black water biotope love him 😊
That’s an awesome fish. Never seen one in person, but the videos of them are crazy.
@@uncommonaquatics there awsome m8 .he's getting big now was bout 3.5 inch when got him now bout 5.5 .eats once a week I feed him thanks again budd.happy Fishkeeping
oh dang, happens man. Could you please tell me what these snake fishes are called? They look so nice. Also, I would suggest you to look into Fathers Fish YT Channel - for a great environment the tank needs leaves from trees and water from outisde for microbiological health
They are called a rope fish, which is a type of polypterus , I’ve been keeping natural aquariums for a very long time. Before father Fish had a UA-cam channel. It was called the Walstead method. Unfortunately, certain fish don’t do well with plants so this one will not be heavily planted
Damn she ate the whole thing or could you save it? Sorry for the loss!
She swallowed it whole
could you not have saved the fish? it was still wiggling away
The entire fish was inside the frog’s mouth within two seconds.
@@uncommonaquaticsif u would of caught the frog during this time frame it would of regurgitated the fish
OOf, that sucks. I love bichirs and have dozens of them, it sucks to lose one like that.
It does suck. I have a teugelsi in quarantine at the store that I’m picking up next week
I can't even legally own one in the state where I'm at. You should be thankful regardless, lol. I bet he was!
love your tank need some more little plants to cover the bottom
Sad ... but fascinating.
Grow with plant it will be a healthier tank
I love aquarium plants almost as much as I love the fish. All 8 of my other tanks are planted. Unfortunately, some fish cannot be kept in a planted tank. They will eat and destroy the plants. I’ve got a few plants in this one, but it’s mainly going to be about the fish because of the species I chose for it.
I'd love to see you grow some monster Sun Catfish in there. They can reach 20 inches if given enough space and a proper diet.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it
I don't blame him, the Filet-o-Fish sandwich at McDonald's is my favorite!
Mui Delicioso
Be very careful about aquarium if it was settled into a stand and use for a while. Moving and refilling it might cost a leak .keep a very close eye on tank for next few months. (The seams will be where it fail, it starts with feel of moisture. Also look closely to make sure that there are clear with no signs of fine gas bubbles. )
Thanks for the feedback. It’s been set up about three weeks and no leaks.
Oscar grow fast also, faster than bichir, hope u will not take the risk of letting the rest of the bichir get eaten as well as the danios also...
That is always a risk you take when you combine large predatory species. I’m not worried about the Bichers with the Oscars
Howdy Braquaman! Never trust a fat frog lol! That was most unfortunate but it happens. Shows character that you would share it with us so others can learn from it. Well done and thanks for sharing 🤠
What kinda plant is that in the back
Amazon sword
Datz tiger fish would be awesome
Did you return the frog to the store?
No, he has his own tank right now
Awful but thanks for sharing. Praise God you caught it on camera, we can all learn from this. God bless you 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
nothing to learn. seems an obvious mistake.
I’ve been keeping those frogs with bichers for the last 20 years and never had this problem. Just make sure you have a bigger bicher
