Mine isn't working for some reason. It looks like it's trying bc I can see my mesh sort of refresh in render but no movement is made. I wish you had put in a way for us to get visual verification that it recognizes we are in range, such as an "E" key showing up or something written onscreen. And then some indicator of button press. That would give us good feedback on the function bc i don't know what isn't working on mine.
I have two problems so far: 1. Can't pick up weapons 2. Can't get idle weapon animations to work The main difference is that I'm using the Advanced Locomotion System. I've figured how to tweak some things to work with this tutorial but not others

Great video very informative and offers good understanding to the logic and reasoning involved with the order and structure of the blueprints ! I ran into an issue , not sure if its because I'm running unreal 5.5.1 and I need to add something else but when exiting the vehicle my SK_mannequin becomes 20 feet tall and looks like a he's flattened out from birds eye view 🤣
5:48 Im using a shorter human but that didnt match up with the Quinn model and the parts move separately when doing the animations edit: fixed the size sync= i needed to increase the target mesh scale mesh on 3:31 detail page. But the parts are still moving separately on my metahuman

We built a Character Select where the player can select between 2 female and 2 male characters to play as. When start, it has a male character in the Character Select. Pick a character, save and start game. We can equip armor and weapons and do prototype quests, use heals and weapons. Save and exit. When we restart, it does not start with the character you selected, it starts with that same Start Male it starts with in the Character Select. We are obviously not getting it to Update the Skeletal Mesh in the part of the code that it calls from when the game starts. We have worked on this for two weeks and decided to start asking questions to anyone who might know.
I’m trying to create a mechanic in Unreal Engine where my character’s belly jiggles after eating too much food. I’ve added a Physics Asset to the character’s belly bones but can’t get the right effect. Additionally, I want the character to run slower based on how much food they eat. How can I?
Can you point me in the right direction regarding how you would solve what is happening at 43:35 ? I am having issues using animations with the IKs and the hands exploding into action when leaving the animation and returning to using IKs?

@PitchforkAcademy How would you use anim notifies to solve it? I've tried setting bools to switch between using IKs, I've tried using curve values to set the alpha of the LHIK nodes, I've tried using blends from montages. Im losing my mind.
@@PitchforkAcademy So you got me on the right path. I changed it from playing a montage to playing through a state machine for the built in blending then used Blueprint Notifies in the animation to do the functionality of the montages. Thanks! Hopefully this helps someone googling this in the future!
A tutorial on how to implement/make a shotgun for your Ultimate Weapon System would be highly appreciated! No pressure of course.
Do metahumans still not come with IK bones? That's my biggest issue when wanting to use them for gameplay. Foot IK is easy to implement with VBs, but they dont have hand IK bones. So if youre using anim packs that animate the hand IK bone (like for some holster/unholster anims to make the weapon animate, or sticking a sword into the ground during an ability animation) then you cant use those animations the same way.
So right from the start I fall flat with this tutorial. Since i don't want to bloat my project with the 3rd person template (I'm using the 1st person one), I created a level sequence and than tried to drag in the 1st person arms mesh, and no "control rig" shows up, there's no IK FK etc. Thanks for the tutorial, but for a noob it's not helpful.

for those who actually listened to him and went to the "5.4 version" you have to have finished this video first as the graphs actually depend on the ones built in this video... for this reason this series was totally useless to me. hopefully it isnt for you guys.
ok... i liked it until i had to turn the first half hour video into a one hour video for anything to make sense throughout the other series... deal breaker, man. not being a douche, but this will NOT be good for people with ANY kind of adhd symptoms or any other attention based deficit. you drolled on and on about the other video, after having said in the other videos description to use this one INSTEAD, then when i come to this one because the other didnt make sense, starting a new project using THIS video "instead" (as the video description instructs) only to find that this is based on you having completed the previous video and having these graphs filled out, even though you're directed to this video "instead of the other" ? im not playing badminton with a youtube tutorial.

Hey guys I'm 3 days in but BIG TIP if adding more weapons using the same weapons pack, you want to duplicate original SKELETAL meshes and rename before creating a new static mesh and don't duplicate weapon of same type or share ANY variable names with other weapons. someone please give me the exacts lool but this saved me
So my original 2 weapons work but when trying to add more they do all sorts of weirdness, shotgun shooots backwards and my second AR uses fire mode of original

UPDATE: Found the issue. My dumb self had the ABP_Quinn_C Anim Class on my TPC instead of having ABP_Manny on. Didn't think about this for visually, my TPC was set to the Manny mesh, just not the correct animation class. Lesson learned lol. I noticed mine only works when the Manny character lands, the sound will play. Reason why it would not work while walking or running? Tried going back and it doesn't look like it is missing anything.

@RemmyDev ı couldnt figure it out ım just changed the my cc4 to MetaHuman then ı used mannyqquin skeleton and it worked.
