My brother, you're absolutely crushing it with your UA-cam channel! The information you're sharing is incredible. As a proud Dominican, I truly admire the energy and motivation you're bringing to your content. I visited Santiago four times in 2024, and I was blown away by the development happening there. My cousin, a businessman from Santiago, gave me a tour of the city, and I was amazed to see the vibrant neighborhoods and accomplished people I hadn't known about before. I'm a new subscriber, and I must say-your channel and your work are outstanding! Keep it up!
These videos make me miss home. Almost exactly three years ago, I was in Santo Domingo for 3 years during Covid. I'm glad I was there and not here in Canada. I had to come back to deal with family matters. Now I'm dying to go back. I hope I can make that happen before the end of this year. The older I get, the more I appreciate being with my people. Good Work Bro! New Sub!
I love this video! Thank you for sharing this. I was born in Santiago 52 years ago. I'm looking forward to returning to my country very soon. Your videos have inspired me and I am now in the process of buying land in my beautiful DR.
As an American who's been living full-time here in Santiago since 2015, we can thank Abel Martinez for the current state of organization and cleanliness. Whether or not Santiago will be as safe once Cienfuegos has a rapid connection into the rest of the city remains to be seen.
It has had significant growth since 2015. As someone who visits Cienfuegos on a weekly basis I would not worry about safety and the community there is amazing. We can’t let a couple of bad fruits ruin it for others
I give Martinez credit for improving Santiago residents' quality of life, everything from big projects to tiny day to day things like picking up trash in the streets, cleaning up parks, etc.
Yo Jonah, Did you get your Double nationality already? Im currently in the process of applying for dual citizenship and getting my cedula and Dominican passport. Ponte pa eso manito if you haven't yet. I love your channel and your content my brother. I found you on IG First. @@jgivesback That's Good to hear! I hope more Dominican-Americans start the process of getting their Dual citizenship, Cedula and Dominican passports. We can build something great In DR as a unit with what we learned abroad. May God keep blessing you and your family.
Just got back to the DR and I am so excited to see, do and learn more. Thanks for talking about the airport, I need to know the gateways that frequently service Santiago.
TIGHT WORK! Thanks for bringing Santiago in it's truest form to me my friend. Punta Cana remains my expat choice, the ball is already rolling. The great thing about DR, anywhere in the country is accessible within a matter of hours. Yeah, my tools, my Jordans, and the rest of my HHGs will be in Punta Cana, but the entire country is my backyard. I found the villa I wanted within my budget, in the gated community I was expecting, in an area with crazy amenities, but I am not a prisoner there. I'm a single, no kids expat with everything on autopay. So if I want to go to Santo Domingo for a week or to Santiago for a month, that can easily be achieved. Your video moved Santiago higher on the bucket list for sure. Thanks again.
I’m an American of Dominican descent Santiago is my second home 🏠 great content you did a great job explaining everything. There’s supposed to be a new road connecting puerto plata to Santiago which is going to make the trip a 25 minute drive to the north coast beaches called carettera del Ambar.

You forgot to mention the revitalization of el centro historico. The Calle Benito Moncion is at this moment being intervened with underground cables, new sidewalks and all the Calle el sol intervention begins this year. But anyways great video and yes Santiago the heartland city!
Excellent video! It was a no brainer for me to move to Santiago and the growth is real! I saw it while I was in Florida for almost 8 years but here the boom is happening way faster! 🙌

I loved the video, you are doing a good job but you have to bring in the followers who do not speak English so that your channel grows quickly and thank you for showing my beautiful city that I love so much. The investment in the airport is 500 million dollars. As they say, SANTIAGO has everything, even the beaches half an hour away and rivers, waterfalls and mountains an hour or less away.

That's good for me but what about the Dominicans living on $200 a month...if that? I just hope that the government with all of it's moves, the people get something out of it,,,
The GDP per capita was 10,716.01 USD 2023 and continues to grow. You can't compare it to the U.S.. 80 percent of what Dominicans eat comes from inside our country. We love our local products. I used to pay $156 a month rent for a studio apartment three years ago. my $350 a month job was good enough for me to maintain the same standard of living, I had in Canada. I would argue that I actually lived better in D.R. because of the food, the weather, the people and the culture. I used to drink one or two Presidentes almost daily. after 2 years of living in Villa Mella, I had over 10 friends from the neighbourhood. I only came back because I had to take care of family, but I can assure you, I can't wait to go back and stay in D.R. permanently.
Our beautiful DR it's growing i have news for you Jonah . The Dominican Popular Bank (Banco Popular Dominicano) as a support for tourism announced in Fitur 2025 an investment this year of one and a half billion dollars 💲 that will create 26 thousand jobs in 15 hotel projects for a total of 7 thousand new rooms this year.
