    Do you put the ground beef in raw?

    • @littlecountrykitchen
      @littlecountrykitchen 17 днів тому

      Yes, it cooks in the broth, adds flavor and makes it supper delicious! The fat is necessary for flavor! There are bubbles of foam that come to the top, but they dissipate after a few minutes.

    There is another way to make this called “Poormans ice cream” (yes is was from the depression) you just take a can of evaporated milk, and a cup of powdered sugar. Then whip until fluffy and set for two hours. Whip again and freeze until served. Sometimes there is a bottom ice layer but that can be solved by flipping the bowl over in the freezer about two hours into the second freezing.

    I am pretty new to freeze drying. I have had my dryer less than a month. I just removed my first five trays of green bell peppers from the freeze dryer and I love them! They came out so sweet and tasty! I might end up eating them as snacks! the only thing I will do different next time is chop them. I cut these in strips and it made them hard to dry and took forever. I don’t think all my strips were uniform, but I am so pleased with the final product once I got them dry!

    I've never heard of using the microwave, thanks for the tip. I kinda am confused though... thought you said you were using a friendship starter... it is different than sourdough... you fed weight of flour and water... that's sourdough... friendship uses no water... only measurements not weight... no refrigeration and feeds on milk, flour, sugar.

    Awesome job on your sourdough bread. I have made two loaves so far. The first didn't come out good but I ate it anyway as you don't waste food unless it's gone bad. The second loaf came out awesome and I agree home made bread is truly tasty. I think more people need to learn to bake and cook. It's fun and rewarding.

    As a sickly , skinny little girl , my mother was hard pressed to keep me going . One of her wise breakfast recipes (to sneak as much protein and nutrition into me as possible) was to fold the finished Cream of Wheat into a stiffly beaten egg white . The heat of the cereal cooked the egg white and the egg white made the sweetened cereal light and fluffy ! It didn't hurt that it was presented in one of her precious , delicate tea cups ...made me feel special !

    I have to say that some of the effects mentioned here are not listed elsewhere, and are likely not true, websites say nothing about its potential alkalization, but in the end that really doesn't matter one way or another for your health too much. Also, you listed a few things in it like vitamin c that are not shown to be in cucumber water, however you were mostly right. For the most part this seems like a pretty good thing, in moderation, I have heard many accounts of how awful juice cleanses are so I would recommend just drinking it along with solida
