SIM RACING VR QUEST3, WRC 23, DIRT RALLY 2.0 GOLF+
United Kingdom
Приєднався 5 гру 2018
I've only sort of just started out Sim Racing seriously since getting a proper Aluminium (yes all you American lovely people, thats the proper spelling!! lol) Rig from my besty round the corner, the most brilliant bloke, Mirel (he's from Romania and SUPER CLEVER).
I'm now sporting a CSL DD 8nm, full pedal set, brake being Load Cell, and for now a generic & not FANATEC Handbrake which actually is quite good. Honestly, its not bad once i'd tinkered with it a bit. Greasing it up a bit to start with!!
A week today (1st July 2024) Fanatec Clubsport Shifter SQ V1.5 will be on it's way from SIM DEMON UK (Most Excellent people i might add) I'm so frikkin excited i could run down the high street stark bollock naked!!!!
So feel free to add a comment to any of my pretty boring viedeo's just for shits and giggles.

Hello, and good morning to you, my wonderful subscribers, of which there are now 14 of you guys. I very much appreciate your interest in my extremely dull UA-cam page. I only post a load of boring stuff really with the odd less boring posts here and there. What i will say though is my first upload of me asking for help with my Quest 3 has amassed over 190 views of which i'm absolutely astounded...
WRC 24 Fast Polish Stage

This Polish stage is super quick for most of it. I've not been behind the wheel for a while as i've been concentrating on my Quest 3 VR kit. Trying to get to grips with that....still having trouble getting the best possible graphics out of it.
Quest 3 help please guys!!
Переглядів 20321 день тому
Guys, i need help setting up my Quest 3 VR Headset to make the graphics better. I've watched loads of videos on how to do it on UA-cam where everyone makes it look easy but i'm really struggling with it. If any of you knows how to do this and can help me I'd really appreciate your help please. I'll send you a drink (bit of cash) if you can help, we can do a microsoft teams session or something....

Loving the new stages on Poland as they are mostly Super fast, not twisty and turny. Get a fair wack of hack on!!!! Got a Quest 3 now so I'm trying (not terribly successful as yet FFS!!) to make that work with all my racing games. It looks shit at the moment as every setting is default still as its kind of complicated to configure. If anyone reading this knows how to do get the best graphics et...

After all these years red dead redemption is still so pricey that's the only reason I haven't downloaded it
Thanks pal, for me it's not about how many views I get as long as it makes whoever is watching happy or it helps somehow, then I'm happy.
Keep uploading..the views will come!!.❤️
Loo...Mick..this is a great idea..I watch people play all the time..I like the war games and red redemption.

My pal Daz Pissed out of his head, so funny, thank you Darren.
OMG!! I cannot believe how many views this short has got. 'Daz, You're famous!'
OH MY GOD!!! I just watched this whole stage,.......Not my best performance. 🤣🤣🤣 Absolute SHIT Mickey.
Wow, thanks a lot for the detailed video, my friend! (Sorry it took a bit longer to answer, but I finally got my router today and I had to fiddle with it. But I'm happy to say it all works great now, the PC streaming on the Quest is buttery smooth! I even upped the resolution in the Steam VR settings and everything's on another level now. WiFi 6 is a game changer, literally.) I have to say, your vid is both fascinating and fucking daunting, if I'm honest. My sim rigs knowledge is limited to the usual (and I find out now, crappy) Logitech G29 and the like. The kit you've got there puts those measly things to shame, but, if I ever decide to go this road, I'm happy to know I've got you to maybe give me a few pointers, if that's okay. Unfortunately, there is nowhere I could try it out first, but my gut feeling is I would like it, so that, plus some tips from you would get me covered, I guess. (Also, thanks a lot for the detailed racer recommendations!) I'm both a Playstation and PC gamer, although I upgraded my PC some 6 months ago and my PS5 has been gathering dust ever since. :D Now, with the Quest 3 and the visual quality of the PCVR games, not to mention the wireless gaming, I doubt the PS5 is gonna get turned on any time soon. :)) The VR, especially PCVR, is just another ball game altogether, I didn't even dare think about something like this when I was a kid. The good news is I'm enjoying it as much as I probably would have when I was 10, and, by the looks of it, so are you. Hats off for the charity work you're doing, you are indeed a good man. 🤝 Also, do sneak in as much London/cockney talk as you can, I can't get enough of it. Hopefully you sort that pesky QGO out, looking forward to your next video. Have a good one, Micky!
Wicked to hear that your new router is doing the business for ya!! How much was it and does it really sort 'Everything out?' No more pc freezes? or crashes? have you got a link so i can have a looky see as I have the BT standard Halo 3 router but like yourself ive been toying with the idea of getting something better fit for what we require out of a gaming router. I've got a few quid in the bank at the moment so I may just go for it while i can afford it. Was it easy to set up? I'm presuming its lan/wan in and then either wireless or link cable out to your headset yes? I've had a bit of a splurge today in fact, A new soldering station and a better headstrap for the quest oh and my favourite purchase and that is a golf club assessory which for £29.99 it all Aluminium alloy shaft and cup for the controller and an excellent grip and you know what Waggers, it actually has some decent weight to it and cleverly tricks your mind into thinking you have a full size club in your hands. Its fucking ACE!! Seriously well made. check the link below. shit hot piece of kit!! www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CYVBYGWN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title I was expecting like a plastic sort of thing with some metal but its all solid Ali alloy. The only bit not metal is the firm rubber cup for the controller. £29.99 a bargain!! If you like golf of course. Also bought Pavlov Shack game as well. Thats mental!! Scared the shit out of me getting attacked by Zombies!! Honestly. HAHA. You know what i don't even know where you are on the planet? UK? US? I'm in leeds, West Yorkshire UK but I'm originally from the south coast near Brighton on the English channel. gettiong back to my Rig, I started with a Logitech G920 but i had a nice back payment from the government (£11047.87p !!!) I actually fell over when i got the phone call !!! So out with the G920 and shite black pig iron Rig and in with the Ali profile Rig and Fanatec CSL DD Direct Drive wheelbase etc. Oh my god!! the difference is insane, especially now its 8nm of torque at the wheel!! If you happen to be anywhere near me, unlikely but you'd just have to come and have a thrash on it, i think you'd get the bug for it, but it is an expensive hobby .
@@MickyDooDah001 Heyas, Micky! My PC was fine before getting the router, I didn't have any crashes or freezes, but the streaming from the PC to the Quest3 was obviously bottlenecked by the WiFI 5 bandwidth (80 Hz) and the headset was struggling to keep up with the PC. Now, with the WiFi6 160 Hz bandwidth, there's no more lagging behind, so it does make a massive difference. Although I did buy a link cable, I find that wireless is more than enough at the moment. Plus I find that wire really cumbersome. I don't know if you have the Virtual Desktop app, but that is what I use to play wirelessly and it's a gem, I can't recommend it enough! Have look at it, it really is the bee's knees for streaming wirelessly from your PC to your Quest. I've tried the Steam Link and the Quest Link (or whatever the wireless Meta solution is called), but I came back to VD, it's_just_that_good. This is the router I got: www.amazon.co.uk/Extendable-Forwarding-Subscription-free-Security-Compatible/dp/B0BXPZLMZ3?nsdOptOutParam=true Not very cheap, but it's well worth it, in my eye. If you can find a decently priced WiFi 6E or even WiFi7 router, that would be even better and more future-proof, but I think it would be overkill for me, not to mention they're quite a bit more expensive where I live, in Romania. (This router in particular was a breeze to set up, I don't think it took more than 10 minutes, firmware update included.) Congrats on the new toys! That golf club really caught my eye, cause my wife is crazy about minigolf (both in real life and virtually) and I was looking for a solid bit for her to enjoy Walkabout MiniGolf. We did play it with controllers only, but I'm sure it's even nicer to play with an actual club. I used to buy a lot of stuff off Amazon.uk, but Brexit kinda ruined it for me, 'cause now there's also import fees to pay and whatnot, so it's not worth the hassle. But I did find it on Amazon.de and I will definitely get one, so thanks a lot for the tip! I heard about Pavlov and I will check it out, thanks! If you like shooting zombies, I think you'll also like Arizona Sunshine (1&2), especially if you're playing it off your PC. The graphics and the gameplay are excellent. I've got quite a few Quest 3 stand alone games and I enjoy them a lot, but I gotta say, nothing beats the PC games' visual quality. 11k! I damn near fell over myself when reading it! I can imagine the adrenaline rush when ordering the new stuff, so good on ya! :D I feel I'm getting the bug just from you telling me and showing me, so actually trying it would absolutely seal the deal. By the way, which strap did you get? Does it also have a battery slot? I got this one, plus an extra battery, so I can play and not worry about the Q3 discharging in the middle of a shoot-out. :D www.bobovr.com/products/bobovr-m3-pro Plus is really, really comfortable. Well worth the quid, I'd say. Have a good one, Mick! LE: Nvm my VD question, it just slipped my mind that you had actually tried it, you said so in your first video.
I was just looking at that router of yours and my god don't that looks sexy that's tip top that is. It's got a bit of a saucy price though hasn't it? But saying that you get what you pay for in this world correct? And that looks proper good and you say it does the job Waggers? Then I say that a bargain really because it looks the bollocks and if it does the bollocks then that's all good init? I'm not that flash at the moment unfortunately but next month three weeks is coming Tuesday I'll get some decent money and I'm going to treat myself did I tell you I bought a new soldering iron station I just got to have it 😂 oh and I'm literally this minute in the process of putting on a new headband for the headset I got for 13 quid from Amazon I'm gonna have a cup of coffee first before I finish it . I'll chuck up a video. Hope you're all good pal it's a little bit cold over here in the UK at the moment I still don't know where you are because you haven't told me so where are you buddy? States? Asia somewhere perhaps ? I bet it's nice there at the moment. It's fucking freezing here!! 🤣🥶🥶
@@MickyDooDah001 Hey, Mick! I did tell you in my last post, right below the router link. 😁It's cold as fuck here, too, by the way!
I'm such a prat, thats an English term for a an idiot. just so you know. lol. Romania. That's cool and rather interesting as my reall really clever mate who is also Romanian, he's ultra smart. mA Software engineer amongst other qualifications including a Physics PhD and Electrical Engineering! Told you was clever. Mirel, my pal, is a Sim Racer like me. His Rig goes in all d irections, on Actuators on each corner of his Rig. It's fucking awesome man i'm telling you.
Right back at you, mate! 👍 Quick question, cause, like I said, I'm a bit of a VR newbie myself. Does Quest Game Optimizer work on PCVR games as well? For some reason, I was under the impression that it could only optimize the Quest games. Alyx looks awesome, but I think it could use a bit of sharpening here and there, so if QGO can help with that, I'll buy it myself. From the little bit I've seen, the installation is a bit of a hassle, but the consensus is that it's definitely worth it, so I'm willing to give it a shot. I mean, I'll definitely buy it at some point, but for now I want to spend the little spare time I have exploring some PCVR games like Alyx and the new Metro. Looking forward to your Tuesday video, have a great weekend!
@@wagrram Hiya pal, from what I can gather the optimiser works on just about everything. That's according to what I've seen on UA-cam. I think it has to be downloaded through Sidequest but don't quote me as like yourself VR is new for me too. I'm going to do some research regarding this over the weekend. I've got a couple of guys I have in mind to grill about it, so as soon as I know I'll give you a shout ok. About the new Metro game, that actually looks proper good . I have just about all the Metro games in my Steam library including the PC enhanced version which is just brilliant. So have you actually got the new one yet? If so, what's it like? I suspect it's awesome. Anyway, whatever you're up to this weekend have fun and let me know how you're getting on. Oh yes, I agree that Alyx could be sharper and with luck it'll be just that on Tuesday when I finally get things where I want them. Catch you soon buddy. 👍🏻🙏🏻
@@MickyDooDah001 Hey, Micky! How was your weekend and how's the QGO research going? Ready to fiddle with it tomorrow? I myself put the PCVR gaming on hold until my router gets here (which should be tomorrow), because I wanna enjoy the games as best I can. I do have the new Metro, but I'll play it after I've finished Alyx, which is probably a ways away. What racers would you recommend trying/playing in VR? My only regret for not getting the PSVR2 is that I won't experience GT7. From what I've read, it's fabulous. I loved playing it „flat”, as it were, so I assume the VR experience is much better. I've been tempted to get a steering wheel and the whole kit for a few years now and I might bite the bullet at some point, because it looks fun as hell. Cheers!
@@wagrram Hey there Waggers, always great to hear from you my friend. My weekend was kind of busy, for a semi retired fella I seem to be more busy than ever. Reasons being I volunteer 2-3 days a week at a local church helping out with the local food bank which I get an immense amount of satisfaction helping my immediate community here in West Park Leeds. I digress, I did have a butchers hook (look, that's London talk), at QGO and what it's all about and basically came away with not a lot more than I already knew really. It would appear that yes, it's a bit convoluted to install but saying that I'm going to give it a go tonight just after midnight when my benefit goes in, so wish me luck with that. 🤪 I have asked around for some insight and pointers as it were on how to get it working and it's a case of follow the instructions verbatim and hope for the best. So am I correct in saying that you're a playstation guy? I'm a pc man myself but do have an XBOX, well not quite, my all singing and dancing Samsung TV has game hub built in which includes Nvidia Geforce now and Xbox cloud streaming so I enjoy the best of both worlds. And as for you possibly taking the plunge regarding getting into SIM Racing I whole heartedly suggest a couple of things. 1, SIM Racing is an expensive hobby but well worth it in my eyes, and 2, have a go on someone else's rig first and see if it's for you. If I total up all the equipment I have, my wheelbase and pedals and aluminium profile rig all comes to around the £1000 ISH not including my 'Up there' PC that's another £1000. So in conclusion have a go on someone else's kit before you take the plunge but I think you'd probably like it.
@@wagrram as for what racing games to play I suggest Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competitione 🤪 (more arcade than Assetto Corsa), Dirt Rally 2.0, RaceRoom Experience (just had a serious graphical and physics update and is now awesome) and is also a free game with in game purchases, WRC 24, WRC Generations. All brilliant Sims. I racing is ok but super expensive I don't bother with that. Because I'm not getting the best out of my quest 3 just yet, vr racing etc is basically unplayable but watch this space tomorrow when I've hopefully got it all sorted with QGO . Ps. All my SIM Racing kit is FANATEC. CSL DD 8nm full pedal set including Load cell brake pedal I've also got haptics on the brake and accelerator and a big one on the back of my seat fr that kokt when you change gears. Absolutely sh*t hot Mate!! I'll do a video later going around my Rig so you can see what I've got.
having very strong GPU and CPU helps against crashes...when you get stronger PC you notice defference instantly. I upgraded from Ryzen 5 to Ryzen 9 CPU and it was like moving into Ferrari from Yugo. With good setup you can run games on 90 to 120 fps easy. I noticed you wearing glasses so i sugest you get lenses from your eyes as it also reduce blur alot. Regarding chargin cable get your self some sort of holder you can atach so your cable is fixed as it can get damaged real easy.
Definitely need to know your computer specs to make any kind of judgement. There are some graphics settings in Virtual Desktop that will make a big difference depending on what you're running. There's also likely settings in HL-Alyx (i've yet to play but Im assuming here).
Hey there buddy, thanks for your comment. I've had a little fiddle around with virtual desktop like you mentioned and changed a few settings I'm not sure if they made any difference at all and I'm going to try the Quest game optimizer and see if I can get that to work. Like I mentioned in the video everybody makes it look so easy on UA-cam to install and set up but it flipping well isn't is it? Install this file their install that file their download this download that why can't they just be one button to press saying yes or no to the question of do you want your meta quest 3 graphics better? A simple yes or no button that will suffice!!. I'll keep you guys posted how I get on, wish me luck 🤞🏻
Cheers for the laugh, mate. :D
@@wagrram That definitely was a quality moment that day in Morrisons.
I'm not knowledgeable enough to help you out, just a VR/Quest 3 beginner myself, but I liked this vid, for some reason. The accent, the candour, dunno what it is, but you should do this more often. Best of luck!
Hiya mate, thanks for your comment, I've still not managed to suss this out yet, why does everything have to be so flipping complicated? You're not the 1st person to say they like my accent, it is apparent that the cheeky Cockney accent and demeanor (you mentioned candor) is widely appreciated by many. I'm happy that you approve. 👍🏻
@@wagrram in reply to your suggestion regarding making more videos of me moaning about how I can't get whatever it is working properly etc, I think that's a great idea. I'm never short of things to grumble about but at the same time I have plenty of things I can actually say I've managed to get it to work or I'm pleased with the outcome sort of thing. So keep an eye on my UA-cam page for some new content, maybe even later today. I'm not a content creator as such and certainly don't get anything from my page except the odd pleasing comment from people like your good self. That's enough for me. Mickey 👍🏻🙏🏻
I subscribed about half-way through this video, so I'll be sure to check your page out. I myself am pretty happy with playing Alyx via wifi, although I do have quite a bit of stuttering here and there, most likely because my router is only wifi 5. I'll replace it with a wifi 6 this week and give it a go. The image quality is said to be quite close to the wired setup.
@wagrram hi there buddy when I've got the VR sorted properly I'll start to post some more videos maybe even some funny stuff I'm quite the British clown. 👍🏻👍🏻
@wagrram same here regarding Alyx, virtual Desktop 🖥️ is ok but my pc still freezes a lot so I've got to work out what's going on there. Quite possibly a PC upgrade. My system is over a year old now so I could do with a new one I'm going to have a look in the January sales after Christmas.
Hey man, what kind of hardware are you rocking? GPU, CPU, ect. Could be that they are just under powered?
Hi there pal, ok so my hardware is as follows. Windows 11 Pro i9 7900x 3300GHz 32gb Corsair vengeance ram RTX 3060 12GB If you have any pointers please don't hesitate to get in contact. I really appreciate any help I can get.

@@MickyDooDah001 With them specs you should have no issue at all, have you tried different USB ports to run it from on the PC end? some USBs aren't as fast as others but im not too savy on that stuff either, just a thought
@@mickyr171 hi mate, yes I've tried different usb ports, on my Asus tuf x299 motherboard I have just about all the different usb, ie black for data, blue is usb 3.0 and real (green sort of) is usb 3.1 (+) I think but I don't think that's the trouble I think I'm not doing it in the correct way if you can understand that. I get a bit flustered if it doesn't go my way and now it's a bit of a mess. Like I said, on UA-cam they make it look so easy but it never turns out like that. Just a case of starting from the beginning perhaps? Regarding the cable, its a usb c connection and just behind it there is a velcro fastener so it's perfectly safe and solid, no chance of damaging it. It's 5 metres long too so no chance of ripping it out of the pc. I'll struggle on and I'll let you know how I get on. Wish me luck 🤞🏻
@MickyDooDah001 yeah sorry I can't help more mate, I'd probably recommend starting over and trying everything again, I'm developing for mixed reality with my quest 3 and Unity and been stuck all day seeing nothing but a black screen, it's 1.45am here and just figured out what was wrong lol so completely understand the frustration, was loosing my mind and it was just about playing it in the game tab in unity 😆 once you figure it out you'll have a blast and learn a lot though
Nice video ❤ I also have good music for you here on Yt 💪
Cool! What Genre of music do you like? I just love Techno Acid, great to drive to. Really gets me going you know? So where are you from buddy? i'm in the UK, in West Yorkshire, City of Leeds. Moved here about 5-6 years ago but originally i'm from the very South coast town called Brighton, well a few miles away actually as most people have heard of Brighton, but not my actual home town called Worthing. You a Sim Racer? If so what system are you running?
i love the fact that you have a pic of the sim rig right under the pics of the kids!
Cool right? lol. My daughter and grandchildren etc.
well hello there
Hiya pal, how go? Thanks for having a look. I'll be chucking up some sillyness a bit later, so have a butchers hook later on today.
Nice gameplay 🤟🤟🤟
Thanks pal, just me throwing up random stages from mostly WRC 23 with a couple of wicked close calls, especially the Corkscrew Roller coaster to Roof slide over finish", my personal favourite. 😂
Nice 🤟🤟🤟
Thanks buddy, you are the very 1st person ever to comment on my channel. (not much of a channel I know but it's early days) Are you a Sim Racer like myself?
@@MickyDooDah001 yes!! ;)
Hey there friend, how you doing? I'm good. I was wondering what eco system you're running? I currently have a 8nm CSL DD (3rd party PSU £16.99 Amazon, there was no way i was going to pay £160 or whatever from Fanatec! Just recently installed some Haptics in the form of 2x25watt transducer on my accelerator and brake and also a 30watt transducer screwed to the bottom of my re-purposed Dining room chair I have for a seat. Which i will add is perfectly adequate for now. The transducers really do add a fantastic level of immersion to the Rig. I'd read and seen UA-cam vids of people doing the same but I'm also sceptical until i actually see it for myself. Pleasantly surprised actually.
