Riding the NEW Greenslick Trail in Bent Creek │ 360° Video
Is the NEW version of Greenslick better or worse than the previous version? Drop a comment below with your thoughts! 👇
*Yes, there's quite a bit of wind noise. I'm working to fix that for future videos.*
_______________
Got out for a really awesome mid-September rip with my friend Matt yesterday. Our intent was to pedal up to see the newly reworked Greenslick trail. We climbed our legs off getting to the top, taking a way I had never been up before.
At the top we ran into a pretty big crew that was getting ready to roll down. We hung out at the top and chatted with another guy for a few while the large group started their descent. We have them some space so we could have a fully unimpeded run down the trail.
So how do I feel the new Greenslick compares to the old? Well, I really dig the new version. It was wet when I rode it but even then it seems to be faster and flowier. I think there's some sections that need to be packed in, but I think that will happen as more people ride it. I also think that the additional features are great for picking new lines and getting outside your comfort zone. There were a few features I thought about hitting but didn't only because this was my first time doing a pre-ride of the new version and I wasn't sure what was on the other side. Next time I'm going for it though!

Boot logo? How to changue?
There were better options for this market in the 70s which does NOT make sense. 1976 DT 175 will kick the shit out of these bikes and weighs 50 pounds less!!
It would be nice if they still made stuff like that. Instead to get that weight you’d have to spend KTM money 🤮
@@OffRoadRodeoYour right.
Crazy seeing a local video recommended in my Moto feed. My senior project was giving tours at Eckley for Halloween.
That’s rad! Eckley is a special place! I’ve been up at my parents recently so you may see more local videos come across your feed in the near future 😂
Excellent video, Jake. Well done.
Thanks for watching!
For the price of the CT you are way better to get a Honda Navi instead and pair it with a used (real) dirtbike like an old kdx220. That XR150l is a heavy and slow pos.
Or a CRF250 Rally
I use a standard size black milk crate and use large Zip Ties. They work to secure it. Only use zip ties. I can put 4-5 bags of groceries in the back with a net over it. Save gas and grocery shopping is fun.
I like the milk crate! I only went with a box like this so I could lock GoPro stuff inside when I’m making videos and have to pop in a store or something
@@OffRoadRodeo Get a magnetic tank bag or I use a handlebar bag. Very handy for wallet and GoPro.
I had to adjust mine twice in less than 2k of miles. Will put a DID on it eventually.
Yeahhhh, stock chain is junk. I’m glad you upgraded!
Nice review, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Hell yeah dude
Cool shot nice area to ride through
Thanks!!
👍🏻
Hi. I live in Nazareth Pa and ride that area all the time. I searched, both on google maps and did a ride yesterday, for the road that went past the Trump graffiti along the Lehigh river with no success. I thought you indicated in the summary that it was off of Middleburg Rd. I ride Middleburg Rd from White Haven to Bear Creek often. Could you be more specific on what road you were on or how I could find the turn off. It would be much appreciated thank you.
Hey there, the road is off of Middleburg Rd on Ice Lake Rd outside of White Haven. It’s a left had turn before/across from the Pleasure Dome. It’s dirt. It does dead end at the bottom but it’s a really pleasant ride with some access to the river at the bottom.
Thank you. I rode the other parts of your ride over the weekend. Super ride.
Is the engine type on the 150 a longer lasting type? My old 110 ct only got over 3000 miles without overhaul.
I can’t speak to longevity yet but so far I’m at about 2500 miles on this motorcycle (150) with only routine maintenance. This has/was sold in other markets for quite some time and was known for being extremely reliable.
Oh my god that’s advanced riding! I am too old and will never have the skills and strength it takes to ride this kind of path, but I would have certainly loved it when I was younger. I do believe in pushing myself beyond my limits, but sometimes you’ve got to be realistic about your limits and this is way too much for me, but however, I am still looking forward to riding easier trails in North Carolina when able. Wish I had guide who could tolerate an older driver on a Ct 125 for some light off roading.
Black goes to ground and both red and yellow go to 12v. Red goes to a switched 12v from the ignition switch for the main power, and the yellow goes to a permanent 12v (battery) connection to provide power for the clock, presets, user preferences, etc. 🤔Correct me if I'm wrong :)
If it.s connected directly to the battery than the device would be on all the time. So one connection need to link to the accessory power to it shuts down when the accessories are turned off
This is the best most complete clear and concise comparison of these two motorcycles. Job well done! I envy you being able to own both them. I have a 2023 CT 125 now and don’t want to get rid of it to trade for an XR 150 so I’ll have to take the slower route and save for a purchase of the XR 150 at a later date. I think then I will be in a much better position to decide if I want to eliminate the CT. But I don’t think I will at that time as the purchase is already made, it’s a wonderful bike with good quality and is something I can keep for a very long time with very easy upkeep. This video just solidifies my desire to have both of these bikes, you are extremely informative and you leave no doubt in my mind what my next purchase is! Also from your video I can tell exactly which modifications I want to make to the XR. I have made several to the CT as well for reasonable price. Scores of thanks to you!
Thank you for watching and for the kind words! Both the CT and XR have been wonderful and they really complement each other well. Both are a good choice and you get a lot of motorcycle for the money. It all just depends on what you want to do! Ride safe - keep me updated if you get an XR!
The ct125 is my choice. I had a ct110 when I was a kid, and it was a blast and very dependable. I like the large luggage rack.
The styling of the CT is just the best. Its such a cool looking machine.
Nice!
Thanks man! More MTB stuff to come!
I swapped an led bulb out for my headlight, blinkers and plate late. Got a new relay so everything works right. I tried swapping out the brake light with an led bulb, but it doesn’t get brighter when the brakes are applied. Any ideas?
Do know if apps that work offline with saved maps would work? I use both Rever and Gaia. I just wonder their version of CarPlay supports those apps the way my truck does.
Thanks for review ! Im very interested to buy same unit, can you please answer, is it possible to control music volume over remote control ? Like holding any button maybe ? Thanks !
Obviously not a "how-to" video...rather a "I did it" video....
I don’t know how much more guidance someone could need?
It's weird for something that is meant to be attached to a motorcycle, to not be at least as waterproof as the rest of the switchgear...
I like a bike w/ larger tires meaning taller/wider both. Taller tires offer more handling ability & the fatter/wider tires are able to handle weight in carrying & for traversing rocky/rough surfaces w/ less chance for flats..... I like both bikes. peace
The Honda transmission is supposed to be wider @ the top end for street use. In Asian/S.American Nations this Honda has been around for many years. Proven & bullet proof but why did Honda wait to bring it here? I learned that the sheer number of Chinese bikes being sold prompted Honda to come into the US market. For $1,000 more than Chinese bikes, you can have a Honda that lasts a long time, even if you abuse it! The Chinese bikes don't hold up so well & not even for those who take good care of them..... they vibrate apart & for the $1,000 extra, a Honda can last longer them you?
🤣🤣🤣🤣Why would you want to pass if you can't even catch the cars in front of you?
🤡
The 125 look sweet, the XR is cool but I have a 250l rally so..
I also have a 250L Rally. Lots to love about that bike
Now try the xt225 better than both. 20HP, 25 lbs lighter, 6-speed transmission. built since 1992. Still sold in the free world.
what is the round gauge on the left side ?
Me I'd choose the Honda.
I wished I could ride along with my Lifan Xpect 200. Such a nice environment, and perfect for those 150-250cc bikes.
Nice video. I grew up in lattimer. Live in drums now. Definitely going to try and find that road along the river off of oley valley road
Nice! Just down the road. Lots of rad riding in our area. Just fyi this road is off Middleburg Rd in White Haven headed towards the Francis Walter Dam
This should be batt operated sir.
Be sure to stay on the trails marked for motorized vehicles. Those single tracks are non-motorized only. Miles and miles are excellent off-road riding in Blackwater. Nice video.
Why pull the clutch lever when in neutral to start the bike?
I think its kind of a habit thing. Just making sure anytime I start the bike I pull the clutch in, just in case its in gear or something.
Thanks for the detailed video! It looks like a good upgrade for my bike even though is already has some connectivity function (suzuki myspin). Very nice and simple interface
Its honestly a really great display. It requires some patience but it would be a great addition to any bike I think!
I know this is an old one, but I appreciate the video! I'm looking for a Scout 290 frame (which ain't easy to find lol) to build as you did. I'm actually the same height as you, with the same inseam. How has that XL-sized frame worked out for you?
@Off-RoadRodeo So did has the XL size been good? How do you think it would have been on an L or XXL?
I got the 2023 version. I think they might have upgraded the chain. 1400miles and it’s exactly at 1 1/4”.
That's good, I'm glad they did that. The stock chain from the 2021 was not good.
Mine had first adjustment at 620 miles (1000km) and 1490 miles (2400km) I still think it is too much
The TW200 looks better.
Agreed honestly!
what is the second drain plug for?
Love your videos man! Thanks for helping! ❤❤❤
Thank you for watching!
He man, does your bike have to be street legal to ride there or are they ohv trails
I'm not a resident of Florida but I believe I read that any bike that uses trails in the state forest needs to be street legal with tags, lights, and blinkers.
no fuel gauge?
Fuel gauge on the CT125 but not the XR150
Just pray and pin it !
Took off from mars hill to make this ride today. Beautiful ride. Thanks for showing me.
That makes me so happy to read that. I hope you had a great ride!
HONDA XR15OL Да это ж почти альфа. У нас в России есть китайские мопеды которые выглядят так же а то и лучше.
August 2024. I am purchasing a Honda XR150L tomorrow in eastern Minnesota. MSRP was $3000. With handling, Registration, Sales Tax (around 8%) it comes to $4007. Perhaps I could have hunted around more but I decided I was OK with the price, within the context of living here. FYI, I saw a comment elsewhere that in the Philippines you can buy the same 150cc Honda equivalent machine for $1750, w/ all fees, a free full face helmet and some bonus gas. In India you can get the 100 cc equivalent the Honda "Shine" for $750. But where do you really want to live? In the last 8 months I've traveled both in India and Brazil. Lots of small equivalent motorcycles. Sometimes with up to 4 people on the machine!
I used to live in the next town over of Freeland, I rode those areas all of the time.
That's awesome dude! I'm sure you know some stuff I haven't found. Where did you move to?
@@OffRoadRodeo moved back down to Bethlehem
