It was exactly the same reason with my F20. Intake manifold etc has been removed by a fellow car professional and BMW lover and it took him about 7 hours. But I told him to take the needed time and not to rush and check for other hoses to be in good condition. BMW would have asked for this work more than 1000 Euros easily.

@@tubeYou-by4qd doesn't take too long - maybe around 1-2 hours depending on how quickly you decide to do it 😉 - no video on how to do it, but very straight forward, you can do this without taking manifold off, but easier with manifold off - plenty of room

In this case it was the water pump - the hose your referring to is the one for expansion tank to the cylinder head. I also have another video of that failed too

what was the mileage when the pump failed?

You changed the water pump 5 times! The pump itself isn't your issue then, may be the support bracket which the water pump bolts onto - it has a sealing gasket to the head, this may have leaked out. Also there is a hose which runs from the expansion tank to the cylinder head (runs under the intake manifold) - these also break and cause cause water to leak towards the front of the engine. Best of luck

I would suggest to pressure test the coolant systems and check for leaks ❤️

No this is a N52B30 - in Australia (125i E82) was fitted with B30 but detuned from factory

@@BMWarrior1 They fitted it with 3-stage intake and tuned it for only 214 hp? Europeans 2.5 with 3 stage intakes outputs the same... Well that's good for you as you have a "free" 130i

B48 and B47 is using same oil filter housing? Gas and Diesel will be same oil filter housing?

You can do it without removing intake manifold. There’s a bracket at the front you need to remove and you can fish around the line back to the cylinder head.

Exactly what has happened to mine.

@@BMWarrior1 I’m looking to buy one. Isn’t it basically just a de-tuned 130i engine? I need to test drive one but does it feel fast, I’ve heard they are very torquey for a n/a petrol. I currently own a remapped diesel fiesta so will be miles faster than that but the car before was an n/a petrol and I miss that instant response!

@@GandyGamingHD yes the E82 is heavily detuned from factory. If you test drive one, you will feel the car holds back and lacks the potential it has, people describe it as 'makes alot of noise but the speed doesnt match'

@@BMWarrior1 can they go even further without turbocharging or is a 40kw gain it’s limit? Not that it’s a bad gain at all from a n/a unit

@@GandyGamingHD they can go a bit more with catless headers and a tune to suit. Remap is the most cost effective since if you have 3 stage manifold already (depending what country/region) there is no need for hardware changes. Hope this helps and welcome to the channel 👍

Using Esys software

I just had this problem a few days ago, tensioner broke off and now they’re replacing it along with the water pump and the front crank seal. It’s a 2021 540 with only 21k miles. Left me stranded and was towed to a dealer. SMH

There isnt a huge difference between 190kw/200kw but on a N/A 10kw difference is noticeable no doubt

Yes, its recommended to drain the engine oil and coolant system prior to replacing the module. As part of replacing this module your going to be disconnecting hoses which are part of the cooling system - the less coolant in the system, the less mess. You should also remove the oil filter, allow the filter module to drain itself into the sump and then drain the engine oil - this will limit how much oil escapes out of the module when you remove it off the block and its also good to see if the failed module has caused the oil/coolant to mix into either circuit. Some people don't drain the engine or the coolant and simply remove the oil filter module - this can cause a lot of mess then draining both systems as recommended. This accessory is particularly fragile. So I bought the all-aluminum casting parts from China. It can solve this problem completely. It only costs $55. If only the broken part is replaced, it only costs $11 to replace this part with a CNC-made aluminum part.

N13 oil filter module isnt made from plastic unlike the B series - a gasket change would be fine on a N13 however in the B series you will most likely need the whole oil filter module changed, they break apart over time/heat cycles.

Are you sure you have tightened the coolant connector properly? Very unlikely its leaking from it if its a new part - do you have a leak coming from your vent line? Or even oil filter module? See my other videos for further information👍

Yes - you must always bleed the cooling circuit as required to get rid of the trapped air in the system

@@BMWarrior1 I had my trusty mechanic working, he’s the one that I trust because he’s been working on BMWs since the 80s. I did bleed the air out so I will check tomorrow if it’s still leaking. Thank you for the prompt response. I will look into the other two things you mentioned.

@@jorgemartinbg the vent line and oil filter module will leak out from underneath the intake manifold area as well so make sure he checks both. Thanks for the view and please subscribe for more content

@@BMWarrior1 I did change the cap and the release valve as well. The hose i changed was on the left side of the engine when looking at it from the front.

As the video shows, the module itself has broken apart - replacing the gasket in this situation would not have done anything but caused the same leak. Hope this helps
