I was given an asile seat at one of his shows. As you can see the reason I was given it. Long hair and a couple earrings. I was his target for the night. After the show I'm having a drink and I get a note from the stage manager. "Come see me at Dunns." He invited me to join him and his wife for a quick gnosh. He called me a good kid then flipped my earrings asking me about Mommy's Stuff. I laughed cuz I been bugged for years. The Master was a complete gentleman, and all round nice guy. And me a 20 year old kid. One my heroes. And if there is an afterlife I want another asile seat just to see The Master of Venom one more time.

The past few days have been rough. This morning I was still feeling down and depressed. Then I discovered all the Late Night Carson and Don Rickles episodes. I have been laughing nonstop for the past 4 hours watching all the episodes. I can honestly say that Don Rickles on Tonight Show with Carson as host healed me. For anyone experiencing some difficult times here is the prescription. “By the way the rodeo pony died”😂 “My mother climbing a mountain top”😂 “He’s got you and I listening”😂 “I saw the x-rays a week tops and this will be your show”😂 “Where is your hometown by the way…Delight Arkansas”😂 “Is there a state home for cowboy?”😂 “You wife must be a busy beaver”😂 “Burt is lonely”😂 “Can’t you use me in Vegas?”😂 “Burt I’ll be off in minute then you can show this outfit”😂 “She’s in New York with her organ and monkey”😂 “Why invite a cowboy dumbbell” 😂 “You did take Christmas from us”😂

Rickles could halt his act and ad lib for half an hour and the schtick would be better than his planned routine.

Don Rickles was a miracle worker in the field of comedy! He was so great at dressing people down at their own expense while making them laugh at the same time! Just a comic genius!

What a pleasure to enjoy all these clips of Don Rickles with Johnny Carson. Delightful! Back in the days when there were no late night shows using raunchy material! When I was younger, I was intimidated by Rickles' comedy. Now I see it as it is, coming from a good heart! I first started really appreciating Rickles when he appeared in Kelly's Heroes. I loved his acting in that, and I have watched that movie repeatedly. God bless his soul! And thanks for the great Comedy, Don!

I’m 57, when I have a hard time sleeping, I put my iPad next to my head and listen to Johnny Carson reruns. Reminds me of when I was a kid laying in bed listening to my mom and dad laughing at Johnny in the other room... I sleep like a baby..
