At FMBC, as the name states, we like to fabricate, make, build, and cook things. Instead of having multiple channels dedicated to each of the four categories we decided to combine them into one! At the beginning of each episode we'll call out what categories are being represented. That way if someone is only interested in metal fabrication they don't waste their time watching a cooking video (Not that it would be a waste of time!). Most videos will be hybrids incorporating more than one of the four categories. The goal is to pass on knowledge, learn as we go, inspire people to create, experiment with cooking, eat delicious food, and have fun along the way!

Building a Metal Patio Sign
This is a quick video showing how I built our patio sign at the brewery. We wanted a place where we could display our weekly specials and events going on in the taproom. This display is in a high traffic area since our patio is connected to one of the entrances of our neighboring building which has an ice cream shop in it (MN-Nice Cream).

DIY Offset Smoker Build Using an Old Air Compressor Tank
Переглядів 17 тис.5 місяців тому
I acquired an old 80-gallon air compressor tank from my work and decided to turn it into a smoker! The tank is roughly 3/16" thick. I made a simple frame using 2" square tubing and some 6" locking casters. The firebox is made with a V-Bottom to it which helps create and maintain a good coal bed. It has a roughly 1" air gap insulation around the bottoms and the sides. I really enjoy how this coo...

I smoked a beef brisket on my 94 gallon offset smoker for the 4th of July. It turned out great! Seasoned it with sea salt, 16 mesh black pepper, and some garlic powder. Cooked it using hickory wood and sprayed it with 1/2 apple cider vinegar, some Worcestershire sauce and water. Smoked uncovered for about 6.5hours and wrapped for about 3.5 hours. 1.5 hours rest and it was ready to eat! Average ...

I wanted to cook up some BBQ this past weekend but decided to turn it up a notch by having a wood fire in my Chud box instead of just charcoal. Turned out excellent! Cooking on the direct heat cooker with live fire is a lot of fun and puts out some delicious BBQ! Enjoy P.S. I get no kickbacks or have any affiliations with the below links, products, or sites. DIY Direct Heat Smoker Build! Mini Chud Box Replica!
Переглядів 27 тис.3 роки тому
I made a Mini Chud Box! Added some personal twists to Chud's BBQ design. This was made from leftover 3/16" HR pickled & oiled plate I had from the larger Chud Box I made in the last smoker video. This was a lot of fun and the thing cooks like a champ! A friend suggested I add trim to all the weld seams for a unique look and I'm really happy I did! Took a lot longer to build due to this but the ...
Ribs on the Pit! St. Louis Style BBQ Ribs
Переглядів 1,3 тис.3 роки тому
I put some Smithfield's St. Louis style ribs on my pit in this video. Seasoned them with Killer Hogs AP seasoning and "The BBQ Rub" from Killer Hogs as well. Cooked them over some mesquite lump charcoal and hickory. Towards the end I wrapped the ribs with foil after adding brown sugar, butter, honey, and some Rufus Teague's whisky maple BBQ sauce. It was frickin delicious! Thanks for watching!
BBQ Pit Build From Scratch! Direct Heat Cooker! Chud Box Inspired!

I built a direct heat BBQ in this video. The inspiration came from Chuds BBQ's Chud Box. Check out Bradley's channel and his website. Link below. This direct heat cooker is a cross between a grill and a smoker, most comparable to a barrel type cooker. This was a lot of fun and puts out great food! You’re awesome for that description haha. Do you offer any welding services to the public?
Sent email a couple days ago. Great product.
24 x 60 ?
Isn’t it a Serbian knife?
I just saw another video where the guy even sandblasted the interior after grinding the walls in order to get rid of the compressor smell. Were you able to just burn the smell out after grinding the interior?
Yup mainly just by burning it. The grinding is to remove the physical matter like rust or other corrosion.
rad vid. Looks like a killer smoker.
Can you run this without the water pan and just let the fat drip on the coals?
Nice man. When I get into a bigger garage I'll be snagging one. No new builds coming up?
Bad ass
Are you using a 120v welder for all that?
Why welding the whole seam at 1:50? and later having to cut it for the door?
Awesome video
Good job job great idea thx for sharing
Should have designed and built a sturdy framework first, then weld the sheet metal to the frame. That's how you avoid warping.🖖😎👍
Great work, I couldn't help but think make that thing into a drum smoker when you took the top part of in the beginning of the video.
Cool vid my guy
Here’s a ideal, design and build your self a better platform for the evolution metal saw and this won’t happen again 🫵👍
Not wrong
Where did you purchase the insulation?
Amazon. Ceramic fire blanket insulation I think it’s called
that is just an awesome job
Thanks John!
Nice build what is the best distance from the coals to the cooking grate in your opinion? Thanks in advance
Thanks. Around 20” for this style cooker
How can we place an order for this cooker? Do you have a Facebook or instagram website?
I've been thinking about combining a chud box with an off set.
What's your price for this build?
Magnets only really work when the steel is thick For example that mag clamp probably couldn’t hold its own weight on a kitchen fridge On something 1” thick though it’s a different story
Yeah I figured that out the hard way. Flex in the plate was the root cause and lack of mass I suppose.
Great job and video. Keep them coming and keep building. You inspired me to build a Chud box as well and it’s a game changer
Awesome!! Don’t they cook great!?
@@fabmakebuildcook6274 yes just built an air compressor tank smoker (same size as yours) gravity, charcoal, reverse flow and have not even used it yet as everyone just keeps asking for the direct heat. Lol.
@@timothyswatzell221 that’s awesome!
Absolutely the best build, I've seen from a man who knows what he doing. Give this man a star on Hollywood Blvd 🙌 ✨️ 👏 🙏 😊
Too kind! Thanks
Not bad for a French Canadian. Love ya bro
Hahaha!! Truth
What compass are you using for the plasma cutter?
How long did this take to build?
About two weekends I think.
Wow Wish i had this thing.
Nice job. Wish I had the patience to build this.
Thanks!
Great work brother, After beating cancer, I'm regaining my strength and in recovery to go outside and start my first and personal smoker out of an air compressor, I'm going to to build the fire box elbow (Throat) like the Golidies, I can't for the life of me figure out the throat size of a traditional build. So i'm opting for the 6" Elbow, hope this works out. Thank you for the video. Great work, I'm a subscriber my friend.
Good luck on the build!!
Partner can you please send me the dimensions to that shed box I would really appreciate it. I really want to build one. Thank you so much for your time.
All the dimensions are in the description. They are pretty detailed as well. Let me know if you have any specific questions
I would not use any steel sheet thinner than 1/4 inch. Anything less warps.
1/4” is for sure more sturdy. Twice the price and weight though. This thing’s still cooking quite a bit with no issues so I think it’s ok
she's a beauty. good work
Many thanks
Holy crap. Nice project and welds!!
Thanks!
I love the build. Any idea how many hours you had into the build? I am currently designing a large rotisserie smoker and your frame/insulation design is the best I have found. Thanks for sharing and dramatically improving my R&D process.
Thanks. I’d say close to 50 hours. That’s a guess though. Could’ve been more. Lots of work on that one.
@@fabmakebuildcook6274 Thanks! And organization/workflow can quickly multiply how much time tasks take, especially with fabrication from scratch, but 50 hours is a ballpark I can work from.
That smoker turned out awesome!
Looked like you rolled your own pipe. If so, I’d like to have seen that process. Great build!!!
I wish! I had my metal supplier roll it for me. Thanks
Very nice smoker. Do you make them also?
Good work! Lorenzo TX
Bonjour waouh on a la même idées de fabriquer un four comme sa en plus ces bien fait et beaux boulot félicitations
Amazing! Makes me want to learn how to weld!
Great video and great build. Do you like the one smoke stack or two????
One is good for this size.
@@fabmakebuildcook6274 thanks for the info. Making a 24x24x32 tall and was thinking 2 just so I can get a little cross flow. But thinking of just putting one and then a side vent(on top)with a baffle plate in. Then adding a pizza stone or making a little smoker. Keep it up and best of luck.
Just got signed off to take an old 120g compressor from work today with intentions of turning it into a smoker after years of watching Chuds. Your video is exactly what I was looking for!
Awesome! Good luck on the build!!
What MIG welder are you using? Thanks.
Millermatic 211
What half-face respirator are you using? Thanks.
It’s a 3m cheap one off Amazon
Awsome job!
Way badass
Bro you do awesome work. I'm a welder and I like building cooks too. It's cool we can make amazing things. Keep up the great work.
Thanks man!
